If it's just "feel like" it isn't...

and if you don't like Sotus you know you don't have to watch..why so much complaining??

Maybe people have the right to dislike it ... don't they ?

He and a lot of people really enjoyed the first season so he (was brave enough to) watch until the end because of his faithfulness towards the show and love for the actors....

My place i'm stocked up with all types of liquors/spirits/beers!

Here Here on that last note! I hope all other BL writers/Directors realize that rushing series so they can get more money isn't always going to work. Someone mentioned Make it Right 2 (that was another disastrous drama where someone dropped the ball on those stories. What a fucke$& of a series)...

I'll always have a sweet spot for Kong and Arthit from S1, so I'll just read stories on wattpad and enjoy the better development of their relationship there, seems like bittersweet could use a brushing up or two by visiting some fanfiction sites and getting some pointers on HOW to develop her characters for next time around.

when fanfictions are better, you know that they messed something up lmao :D:D

The biggest failing of Sotus S...ks is that BitterSweet doesn't know how to write a story about a couple that are already/now together. Even Em and May. As soon as they made it clear that they were an item - never heard of again. All very sad. Thankfully the actors will not get a hard time from people like me at their fan meets :)

As for me, my favorite part in a love story, is how the guys get together..

I do also like to see their 'everyday life', but only as a bonus episode, not a whole season.... (that's just my 'taste' tho)

So that's why I thought that the first season would have been 'enough', in my opinion.

We don't have many second seasons from Thai BLs so far. And in fact, the once we have were great...!

Think of Love Sick... or Make it Right (the only 2 Thai BL with season 2 that I know so far...)

And even the story of Korn & Knock (Bad Romance & Together with me) was pretty good in both series, despite the lack of matching from some important main issues.

Why is Sotus S so bad compare to Sotus...? Because this couple was not mean to have a second season, and the author BitterSweet did it out of pressure and without any good ideas for it.

At least we have a good example now about a bad 2 season for a Thai BL series - LOL

    Cheers...!

Well then it's just me because I didn't really like the few second season of Thai BL we had ... oops xD''

** but I did kind of like Together with me tho

For some of us (and it would apparently not be the majority) the major flaw in the series is the time gap. You ask why is Kongpob hesitant about talking about his family ? My question would be, how come in three years neither has ever asked about the other's family ? Why all the drama ? Because, well , it creates drama. No wonder Arthit walked off at the end of episode 11. What else could he do ? Kongpob consistently keeps him in the dark. The internship, the moving flat, the father (twice). On top of that he has just been outed at work.

You are right. They do not communicate. Kongpob moves in next door so that he can be 'with the one he loves'. Cute moment for the fans. They then never speak to each other, do not eat together. Don't go to work together. They meet in the lift. Waste of money moving flat if you ask me. Same town would have had the same effect on their relationship as same building.

Arthit has his moments when he shows his feelings. He didn't hesitate at the beach to tell Kongpob that he loved him. Cute moment. But after three years why the need for a scene - ' I would wish that you told me that you loved me everyday '. Cute moment.

11 Episodes to finally reach THE dramatic turn - being outed - that didn't need to be made worse by Kongpob's lack of truth.

We now have two episodes to fix the problem (unless the last is a : making of). My money is it all being glossed over and a 'Happy Ever After' outcome. Kongpob will do his : What do I really mean to you thing (the same question could be posed to him as he never tells Arthit anything). Arthit will get all shy and tell him, "Oh I will always love you". Cute moments all around. Roll credits. Next year in season 3...

As I have mentioned before if the two break up they should have done so episodes back and had done with it. If I were Arthit, I would have left Kongpob years ago. I would not accept , even in a friend let alone a prospective partner, the constant lack of communication.

Frankly I am not certain that the writer has any understanding of the mechanics of all this. I know that @Mel_Rios sort of disagrees with me about this. My take on the story is that the pair of them are 'supposed' to have found the great love of their life. All the back stories in the special scenes show : Cute moments. They are 'supposed' to be moving forward, together. But when we see them today the reality is : nothing changed. If anything they went backwards.

Omg your analyses are always so detailed :o

It's true that the time gap is the biggest flaw, at least for me... then this big flaw creates all the other flaws like "why didn't they talk about each other families during all this time", "why are they so shy about their feelings for each other(even when they're alone) after so much time" etc....

I don't even watch the show (the full episodes from beginning to end, like I did with the first season), but seeing the clips, summaries, reviews, and comments here I totally get the 'feeling' of this season....

Funny how there was more 'spark' between them in the first season when they weren't even a couple than now, after two years of being together

I honestly haven’t even bothered to watch last weeks episode because the series hasn’t been appealing  to me like it did before. This series was VERY rushed, unlike the first one. Like I said before if they had taken their time on the writing I wouldn’t have minded waiting another year for Sotus S. But the sad truth is they didn’t and now we’re stuck with an atrocious storyline.....

Yeah, it was so rushed because it took them a few months to actually decide whether they'll do another season or not and bam! they made the decision and did everything so fast I was like wut ???

True, but there are instances where if developed right and given the proper attention it deserves, a second season could be better than the first (sometimes this happens in movies)...the problem was that this project was rushed for the sake of making money and pleasing fans, had they done a better job with the script/source material, we wouldn't even have this problem. I was reading some of the translations in the novel and lets just say that the author is not the best out there in my opinion....

With BL specifically,  apart from a few cases, a second season is always worst than the first .... It ends up being simply fanservice with cute moments, and drama that doesn't make sense (Hello SOTUS S :D) ....

As you say,  they rushed it because of the hype :( (as they always seem to do with BL these days, just putting out a second season because fans wanted it, trying to be as fast as possible without giving us a decent storyline)

But it seems that people are satisfied with the senseless drama and conflicts as long as the couple has cute moments together and then people go "aaah but look at them, they're so cute together!!" (as @dustinmyeye said)

  8. I knew it wasn't a good idea... but everyone was like "we want a season 2 omg!!!" so, yeah...

I don't understand this logic of "I liked the first season so I want a second season.", esp for this kind of series (I found it ok for comedy series but not for story driven series like this one). Because if you loved the first season so much, you are most likely to be disappointed, even if you don't completely dislike it, there is a very high chance that the following season won't reach your expectations...

As I have mentioned above, the in-between years 'special scenes' appear to show one long continuous bed of roses. They don't argue, it is all so sweet. Never a word about the parents and families. Never a word about, when do we tell them about us ? Never a word about professional aspirations and what that would mean to their relationship if one of them needed to move away.

As for the comments here, I think us moaners are out of sync with everybody else. Looking at the comments on the YouTube videos you would see that most people think this is fabulous.

They are so cute together. Arthit shouldn't shout at his poor Kongpob, just because he didn't tell him about the internship, or moving in next door or the fact that he had just met his father.

The ending will be positive because, for heaven's sake, if they were going to split up they have had more than enough reason to do so episodes back.

Yeah... I don't understand how come, during two years,  they have never talked about all these important topics, it doesn't make sense to me...

I mean obviously there needs to be drama in order for the story to be slightly interesting but it needs to make sense tho

A year ago we would have been wading through pages of impending excitement on here : I just can't wait. What time does it start...

I haven't seen Episode 7 yet but 5 and 6 were better than the opening four. Perhaps now that the story seems to be more centred around Arthit's workplace it can start to take off. I have worked with people like John, who get others to do the work and the reap the glory. I want him to go down ; screaming all the way to the bottom of the abyss :).

I may be wrong but I am of the impression that Dae's gran is sick and Arthit's boss is constantly visiting a hospital, thus, Dae is son of the boss. Who knows ? And heaven knows why six episodes in, we need to know or care. Perhaps he will turn out to be Arthit's long lost half sister who dresses as a boy !

I think there may be a lot of people waiting for the series to finish and then decide whether or not to bother watching. A year ago I was hooked and could find so much to say that was positive but this time around I am being worn out by the 'leaps of faith' required to accept certain events. I will continue to watch but I certainly do not have a Sotus night where everything else gets binned. This year, Sotus can wait.

It does have that feeling doesn't it ? It's not terrible but the excitement is gone and the first season was better

I'm salty over the fact that they skept those two years and I know I would've been disappointed anyway so it's ok :D

But is it really the author of the novel who wrote the script for this season ?

  11. Hello everybody ! :D

I decided even before the season begins that I wouldn't watch it and I think I did well because I'm 100% sure I would've been very disappointed, seeing the comments and sneek peaks of the show. It's not because of the "drama" (drama is needed after a while, not everything can be happy all the time ), it's just the main "spirit".... This feeling of "fanservice"... The parts I wanted to see the most are probably the two years that they skept :(

I think he's cute, but gotta say, Krist is cuter and so disgustingly handsome that I feel like it's a sin to stare look at him for too long.

Also, even if my personality is more like Singto's (introvert and awkward hahaha that's cute in its own way, isn't it? ;), I really like Krist's hyper personality. He also seems gifted to put people around him at ease. Adds to his cuteness. ♥

I do prefer Krist too! I can't believe he's almost exactly the same age as Jimin from BTS (lol)

i know it's just 1 episode so far
but i think 2 moon is better..it's have more innocence storyline ...the way they film it and the scenes is like oldies drama
also both of the leaders are looking realy realy good and their acting convincing

It's just different (the story is different, besides that it takes place at school and the the guy likes pink milk, it's different. Wayo already had a crush on Phana for a very long time, so he's sure about his feelings and is not questioning whether he's gay or whatever + there are also two other couples that will be formed later)... Quality-wise, I would say SOTUS actors were better

  14. I know it's off-topic, but I feel like if I talk about it on the concerned thread, I'll get killed lol

Is there anyone else here who is NOT anticipating Make It Right and didn't like the first season ?

The reasons why I dislike it are :

    Spoiler

underage actors, sexualized underage actors (in and outside of the show), bad acting (let's be honest), awkward angled kiss scenes, subjects and storyline too "mature" for 16 year olds like wtf o_O
