    Wow hello guys,

     

    I came back Soompi these 2 weeks for another TVN drama that I find very interesting (Sat-Sun), and I am truly surprise that this thread is still very active (I plan to comeback when SS2 is aired only haha). 

     

    I made a quick surfing some past pages and sincerely, for my personal opinion only, I found the shipping wars is kinda annoying and meaningless. I planned to make a comment on the post of somebody (remember the name but I will not mention here) that support JWon - SHwa regardless of the character development, but I decided to stay out of the waves :D Yup I believe we all can ship and support the couple we love, but it need to be under logical consideration. Romance is not just jumping out of no where, haha.

     

    Some topics that we actively discussed lost its interesting now, for me. For some first episodes, we eager to guess who is SWha's first love, but as the story unfold, I don't even care anymore and the answer is not matter to me, because I believe that regardless of who is the 1st love, it will not affect the present as well as the future life of Shwa, and her decision, too. The past is the past, now. Why we try guessing the answer that, kinda meaningless, at the moment?

     

    As well as the shipping wars, since now, things are all settled for SS1. We don't have clue, hint or new development every week to discuss and all we discuss here is almost based on old materials with (new) interpretation, and for the next several months until SS2, I believe that no one even care about what we discussed hundred pages ago.

     

    So I support the idea to close the thread until the new SS to come, or if this thread is still open, I hope that we can have some update about the actor/ actress, the production etc to wait for :D

    Guys, below is the IK Jun confession scene (roughly).

     

    SHwa: 야, 진짜 여기까지 왜 있니? Ya, why you really be (even) here? 

     

    This is the scene we saw on the preview. I believed that the way she sounds "Ya" is particularly towards IK Jun and really believe that IK Jun will be there, but the way the story going this ep I once afraid that this is not IK Jun, or at least this is the whole F5. What a relief for IKSong shipper :joy: Nothing much about the sentence, she used -까지 (literally means even) - I would like to understand this sentence as "Why you come this long road to be here"?).

     

    SHwa: 너 안 갔어? You still not go yet? - by the sentence she thought that he already go for Spain and surprise that he is still here.

     

    IK Jun (View the sea): 와, 좋다. - Woa, it's good (haha who knows what is good? The sea, SHwa, or being with her??? Love SHwa smile here)

     

    IK Jun: 나 고민 상담 하나 게 있어서. (watch his watch) 5시간 나왔어. 잘 들어. - I have a trouble that need advice. Still have 5 hours. Listen carefully.  - We all know that SHwa gave consult to the residents (esp. the love advice for Seokmin, haha) that is why he approach his story this way.

     

    SHwa (nod understandingly).

     

    IK Jun: 친군데.... 오래 본 친군데.......... 좋아하게 됐어.... - Friend of mine.... a friend of mine that I know for a long time..... I liked her......

     

    Ah IJ ahhhhhhhh :wub: This is the first time I heard the word 친군데 - based on the pronunciation I think that I get it right. After some GG this turns out 친군데 = A friend of mine. 

     

    This time, he used 좋아하다 = like (he is not using love), the structure = -게 됐다. 게 됐다 used when you do/ get something without your own will. He literally gradually fail for her, that is what he meant. Yah, he fail for her :)

     

    I don't know how Netflix will translate this, the most natural ways is I fail in love with her,  but Love is not what he used here. "I fail in like with her???" - merrrrrrr - that is a dumb translation. haha.

     

    IK Jun: 고백하면 살짝 어색할 술 것 같고.... 그렇다고 이번에도 고백 안 하면 평생 후회해야 것 같고..... 어떻하지?

    If I confessed then it easy to become awkward.... saying that if this time I didn't confess then I could regret my whole life.... what should I do?

    IK Jun (pat her shoulder). 대답 전전히 해. 갔다 올 들을게. - Take your time (no need to rush) to answer me. I will hear the answer when I come back.

     

    So IK Jun come for confession, and the advice that she gives him is her answer for their relationship and we need to wait for several months to here :wub: I believe that Ahn Chi-hong the the main factor driven IK Jun to actively fight for his love. The risk of loosing her one more time tells him to act, and he perfectly acts in a mature and understanding and touching ways, plus very cute :)

     

    Hope to see more of these twos next season.

    Haha IK Jun do the CUPID again = )) "Min-ha seems to like you, SH". SH reply that he don't care and currently his personal life is complex, and dont want to be in relationship.

     

    IK Jun tells that he is just telling the reason, and it is looks like as if your life isn't complex then you should in a relationship with her.

     

    SH continue to says that he dont care and like to be alone, but IK Jun said he has Uju, Jwon has god, SHwa has brothers... who is SH has?

    OK let analyze the question first.

     

    1. The structure used is ㄴ/은 적이 있다/없다. Basically this structure used to ask about one's experiences in the past: Did you or didn't you at some certain points in the past do something.

     

    2. The word he used is 이성 = opposite sex. So the friendship is eliminated. He is asking straight forward to man-woman feelings.

     

    3. Considering the Korean culture, people are not asking direct question, they usually used the negative question to ask about something they want to confirmed. For example if they would like to know whether or not you like a movie, they will ask: Don't you like this movie? and we will answer: Yes I do = (OK I like it) or No I Don't = (totally not). They will never ask straightly: DO you like this movie? (ahhhh, what the culture....)

     

    However, in the question, Chi-hong used direct question. Plus if he used 있으세요? then the question will equal to "You did have feelings for SHwa Prof, don't you?". However he used 있으시죠, note that 죠 used when you know the fact and just would like to re-confirmed it. So literally the question is: I know that you did love SHwa in the past, do you confirm it?

     

    Why he choose to use this direct version, I have two ways to interpret it: 

    - He would like to make clear his intention and he want IK Jun to confirm, no avoidance this time: IK Jun will you confirm that you loved her? This is a stronger version of the negative question.

    OR - part of him want to hear the opposite answer from IK Jun, he wanted to hear that IK Jun will say NO for this question and this means Chi-hong will have the chance for SHwa (you know, negative of positive is negative, so when Chi-hong asked "YES" actually he expected an NO).

     

    Interesting thing is, when Soo-bin first approached this question (where IJ made no comment) she used 느껴 본 적 있다, 없다?

    She give the 본 (tried) leaving here the uncertain, she also end the question with both options YES or NO mean she has no clue about the answer. Chi-hong in opposite, he knew, so he decide to go direct and leave no way-back for IJ.

     

    Now for IK Jun's answer:

     

    1. He used present tense. You can interpret in whichever way you like: 

    - Yes, now I have feeling for SHwa.

    OR - Yes I did have feeling for SHwa in the past (leaving the possibility of he still love her or not un-confirmed).

     

    I tend to the second option, since this seems to be just a grammatical structure. We will never said the past tense 있었다 for this type of grammar.

     

    2. He used SURELY. Haha so the fact that he loved her is undeniable. How come I don't love her?

     

    3. The interesting part is his counter: WHY DO YOU CURIOUS ABOUT THIS? 

     

    Literally he wanted to ask Chi-hong (You think that who you are to her to ask this kind of question, or You think that who you are to her to curious about this matter?). Considering the fact that Chi-hong is just her Junior, and SHwa already wrote the line to him but he crossed it twice, Chi-hong cannot answer his question as we saw in the story.

     

    Seems that IJ is declaring war here, declare his authority to SHwa and Chi-hong will have to consider deeply what is his relationship with SHwa now, do he have the right to fight back?

     

    Just sum up, we all know that by drinking the wine IJ already implied that he loved SHwa and SHwa seems fine with it (she smile widely to IJ when he asked her Oh did I just teach the kids to use formal language pla pla....). The atmosphere just become awkward since the time Chi-hong brought it back again (poor Chi-hong, you did not do right this time).

     

    Wow can't believe that I wrote that long is for a 30 second screen time.

    I just have a feeling that if the PD give us a totally uncertain ending then I could drop Season 2 :joy: My poor brain and heart cannot handle this over the next 1 year 

     

    I once said that although I support IJ-SHwa, I am totally fine for CH-SHwa if the story makes sense. However after ep 11 I don't like ACH character anymore (sorry to his supporter). You all know that SHwa feels uncomfortable alone with you, you promised to keep the line and you crossed it, not once but twice. How is your respect to your crush? How come you put yourself ahead and not care for her feeling?

     

    While the other ships seem well (yup with some struggles but will definitely sails), for me now: at least some clearer for IJ-SHwa or I will drop :glasses:

    Personally I think if they air the Season 2 soon after Season 1 (2-3 months) only then it is OK to leave things open like this one.

     

    But in this case Season 2 is about to air in June 2021 (if I remember correctly, SO said it here) then it is not a wise choice if the write dont wrap at least something up, or clearly hint at the possible couple.

     

    This is not a criminal drama like Hawaii Five O or something like that which could easily to make multi season.

     

    The main driven of this drama is based on emotion, and emotion fades by time. We are here discussing the story but I am not so sure how many will be here in season 2 (including myself, when I loose my emotion then nothing guarantees that I will hook for SS2).

     

    Yup this is hospital drama, but the Romance makes this forums lively. Again if they let an ending so open then at the start of the new SS we have to regain the memory, regain the emotion (why we support this ship before etc....)

     

    That is why I am hoping for a clear ending. Dont leave us with so many possibilities pls.

    I don't bother this line so much since they were in public place with all of their juniors... I watched Romantic Doctor Kim season 1 these day and the main couple also always "Nah, we are not dating" but you know they are freaky cute together and everyone knows the relationship : ))

    Yes, it's because of SHwa sickness to move to Sokcho but I still feel that it's kind of excuse that she use to hide her feeling as well.

     

    I just wonder, the whole scene IJ seems very uncomfortable, he didn't say a thing and SHwa also avoid looking to him. Just why??? 90% of mine I believe that the main reason she decided to leave is because of IJ feeling towards her.

     

    Is she running away of IJ, or running away of her true feeling? Who knows :)

    Yes in the preview I think we have MH-SK, DJ-JW, IS-JWan confirmed. Only the IJ-SW couple left. Anybody has the review and I can hear again? Esp. the part when IK Jun leave UJu for the caretaker at home (seems to go somewhere) and then we see SHwa prepare for the Sea Camping. The way she sounds "Yah" looks very familiar when she sounds to IJ's trick. Maybe those two go together? : ))

    SHwa shocked the team by saying she will leave the hospital, to some rural area I think. IJ not saying a thing in this conversation, looks uncomfortable.

     

    Rosa call out Winter to talk about Father. She ask Winter for a personal favor, that she pls take care of him at the hospital. And she agreed. So this couple is confirmed.
