Hi @tofuetoffee welcome! Agree with u on their superb acting and as for Youku, i believe Youku has sold the rights to a Korean Company so i don't think they'll be showing it anymore.  There rn't any news about his other films yet except for The Best Of Times which they have just recently wrapped up filming so a next yr airing is a possibility, looking forward to that.

I heard the Best of Times was filmed for an anniversary so that means we'd have to wait a whole year for it come around!? Oh... no...

I just want to see him on screen again in another work. His talent is so wasted. (Although I don't mind the photoshoots either, he's so handsome.)

  2. Dropping in. I'm drawn to CXX after Goodbye My Princess (enchanting drama). Being an online drama, it'd be a shame if him and PXR don't win any awards or recognition for their superb acting. (I heard it's still off Youku too?)

I know he filmed a few things afterwards, but haven't heard any release dates yet? It's so hard to follow actors, especially Chinese actors, and while I'm glad they preproduce most of their dramas it's always hard to be waiting.

Yes, I'll add it!  I wasn't aware the tag was different.

I'm catching up on Weightlifting Fairy and he's doing such a great job!  He's really grown so much since WAY. :D  I'm proud of him. He also looks super handsome nowadays.  Well, he was always handsome, but he seems even more so now...? lol

Yep, it's great so many people have come around to loving him lately.  He really did a great job in taking smaller roles and building back up to leading roles to gain experience!  The whole School thing was unfortunate, but honestly, a majority of the hate was from bitter shippers, not people who actually had problems with his acting.  They just hated his character because the girl liked him and instead of being rational, they took it out on him as a person.  I'm just glad that time has passed and he's doing so well now.  I can't wait for his next role.

    Thank you! :D

Agreed! Tbh, when I first started on School 2015 I was so surprised by how different he looked then and now because I watched WFKBJ first. It's only been 1 year at the most, but he looked so much like a baby in WAY! He looks more handsome now. I think it's because he lost the baby fat on his face, maybe also through working out. The hairstyle also makes him look so mature now and he has a more manly aura. Not many actors get to play a highschool student and then a college student all within a span of a few months, but he did (counting CITT too) and looks so natural in both roles imo.

I came to know about him late, but he's earned my respect for going back to doing supporting roles to hone his skills. I definitely am happy that I came at the right time to see his transition. My heart would have broken for him otherwise. It's a shame the ratings for WFKBJ are quite low meaning not many people will know of his transformation, but I'm glad about the good reception nonetheless.

  4. Question to a mod or administrator of this thread: is it possible to add the "nam joo-hyuk" tag to the other two at the top? It's the tag the WFKBJ thread uses and I think it's a shame that it isn't linked to his personal thread. I came from the WFKBJ thread where he's been getting a lot of love and when I first clicked on his tag I was so surprised to find nothing about him and it took some digging to find this.

    Thanks.

Just found out about this model-actor and seen some of his past works while waiting for new WFKBJ eps. It's so nice to know that he has grown and proven some haters wrong about his acting. He needed practice, time and experience and pulled big improvements which can't be said about some. I spent 2-3 hours reading some good criticism but also awful hate comments from School 2015 and I do hope someday NJH can have the last laugh.

I definitely understand why the rating is getting lower. Casual viewers are always expect the main hero of drama to fight for his life, his love and the heroine, but our hero KC demasculinized himself by giving up everything soooo fast in ep 8 (he likes jumping from heights anyway), which led to many disappointments emotionally. Every bad things happend (the pain YJ had to suffer alone, innocent people massacred, the culprit's rage) are consequences of KC's unheroic action.

Been lurking for a while and had no intention to join soompi but I had to just to say this, I DISAGREE.

Calling KC's decision unheroic is demeaning his great character here. More than YJ who only had to sacrifice her love, KC decided to give up his love, his free will and his knowledge/self-awareness for what he believed is for the greater good, for his friends and for YJ. The fact that he willingly reached out to SM and gave SM control over his life once more despite that scene in Sohee's room where he mourned their one track purpose is so powerful. If this series ended with ep 8 he would still be a hero. If he was willing to give that much surely our heroine can try to give as much.

The decrease in ratings imo could be because there are so many questions that the writer might answer later on but at this point even I think its too much to keep track of. I can only go wtf so many times before I bow out and let the series finish before continuing.
