Shin Hye Sun Offered Leading Role In Spin-Off Of Hit Thriller Film “Door Lock”
Shin Hye Sun may be starring in an exciting new film!
On April 2, Shin Hye Sun’s agency YNK Entertainment clarified reports that the actress had been cast in the upcoming thriller movie “Open the Door” (literal title).
Earlier that morning, Star News had reported that the actress was set to star in the movie, which will be the second installment in a series that began with Gong Hyo Jin‘s hit 2018 film “Door Lock,” a Korean remake of the 2011 Spanish thriller “Sleep Tight.”
YNK Entertainment responded by stating, “It’s true that Shin Hye Sun has received a casting offer for the movie ‘Open the Door.’ However, she is not yet at the stage where she is in talks or has made a decision about the role.”
According to Star News, “Open the Door” will tell the story of an ordinary woman who lives alone and is caught up in a series of unexpected incidents after buying a used washing machine secondhand. The movie will be helmed by “Insadong Scandal” and “Perfect Game” director Park Hee Gon.

Chingoos - happy belated Valentine's Day!
It has been almost 5 years since I first posted here, but this still quiet little place seems to be alight with that special glow that comes from the One and Only, the same truly supreme Actress, our beloved Shin Hye-Sun 신혜선 .
Let us all bask once more in her light, and let us just celebrate the late joining of the party of now millions of her fans to this celebration, the recognition of how awesome oori-Hye-Sun is, but also has always been. She is no longer our club secret - she's a household name the world over. Think about that!
This article and all its gushing only just barely begins to do justice to our Queen, but I will happily accept any late comers extolling her praises.
How fitting it is that she breaks new ground, almost single-handedly opens a new drama genre, and becomes the Queen of the genre in the role of a queen, and does it all in one fell swoop in her debut role in historical drama.
What an epic moment in K-drama and entertainment history, and how happy I am, just to be here as her fan.

Congratulations to the entire Mr Queen team and for amazing success - amazing that so far thru 14 episodes they're surpassing the SKYcastle numbers even, not that that's important for us.
But congrats to all of us invited to this weekly feast - I'm feasting every weekend like never before!

Shin Hye Sun is probably more used to filming romantic scenes. She’s been in this industry longer than Kim Jung Hyun. Her last three dramas were romantic, so she’s more comfortable with cheesy scenes.
Kim Jung Hyun debuted around 3-4 years later than her and he actually doesn’t have that much experience with kissing scenes.

It's been YEARS since my happy eyes have held that chart with my favorite 3 letters, 신혜선, atop it - Yes! Yes!!
And it's been like a month and a half since I logged in here, Chingoos. I was so depressed to see that @immorethant's wix page had disappeared, but I'm so glad you're back, at least here, girl! And to @Ni Wen and @iffy21 and @Man-O-Man and everybody - hi friends! It's a strange time when her fame has made her a household name everywhere now, this thread is quieter than ever, ironic isn't it? But I have been enjoying this drama series like none other - the production quality and the story itself is just so amazing that I can't help but wonder how they wooed Shin Hye-Sun to the role and if she had an idea of the degree of success this will turn out to be.
Now watching Shin Hye-Sun on screen is such a different experience. The pride I feel with each scene with her on screen that unfolds is indescribable. And to hear the thousand praises of her impeccable comedic timing. To see her absolute command of every scene on screen even in this star-studded and beautiful cast of hundreds and their royal costumes. I dunno what I can add. Contentment is a strangely boring thing.

Awww , love all your tweets @immorethant - and I noticed yesterday you surpassed me some time ago as the one with most posts on this thread. I'm so glad. This thread isn't so necessary anymore, becoz she's just soo famous (1M IG followers? Crazy - meechuttso, haha), but it's still good to take note of her accomplishments and milestones, right here.
For example,
Clearly another groundbreaking new standard for all other actors to imitate and see if they can match her Royal Highness, the Inimitable.
Such an overwhelming talent, and such gems so frivolously and non-chalantly thrown at us unworthy fans to feast on .
It's been over 1.5 years since we could have 2+ months of 2 nights per week feasting like this, and she made me realize how starving I was for her. And every scene, the costumes, her hair, the headgear, the camera angles to her beauteous and ever-morphable face, so enchanting, enchanted. So I am going to watch everything at least twice and enjoy every bite of this royal feasting every weekend until spring time!

This was a challenging episode to follow even for native speakers - so many cast of characters introduced, had me pausing often to keep it all straight. I hope the subbed version is done well.
While some of the base humor (and there were many innuendos and not-so-innuendo puns all over the 100 minute episode) may get lost in translation, there was plenty of slapstick and physical comedy, which I think my dear actress loves to challenge herself with, so it made for a whacky, still completely unpredictable story - sure to attract more viewers to see where it all goes.

I cried a little, just from sheer pride in my chest watching every minute of my baby on screen with such poise, such grace and uproariously outrageously well-executed comedic timing and command of each moment of every scene.
Did you guys see the embedded advertisement for MG SaeMaeul (New Village) Credit Union Life Insurance spots at the opening and ending of the episode? The first time her own adverts were placed there for her role - indeed she has arrived.

Hello Chigoos!
My first time here since October. This was my favorite scene from Ep 1 - just symbolic of everything I adore about my actress, Queen HyeSun!
And I thoroughly enjoyed this first episode, maybe more than any other drama first episode by our leading lady. Probably because I haven't been obsessing about every previews and trailers and news articles about it like all the other dramas - those days are gone, but I am so happy that this day has come, at last. And I found out I just adore this King - I didn't know how perfect he is for this role until Ep 1. I hope this couple (King and her body if not her/chef's soul) consummated their marriage on the first night, although this being K-drama, it's more likely that we will get a full story to the contrary in later episodes. No matter. I am just a happy momma today. So proud of my baby.
Long live the new Queen! May she bear many royal offspring contrary to her (chef's) personal objections.

This is the clip saying she made LJH flustered by pursuing him with, "how exactly are we going to see each other again?" after his casual 'see you around' after co-MC'ing the 2018 SBS award ceremonies together.
Here is the clip where the director was just fan-boying SHS for every episode of her dramas. The title of the video says, "not working, busy fan-boying" of the director, ha ha very funny. They were also teasing the director about how serious he was on the set, except when watching SHS do her thing in front of the camera - and even during this press conference, he only started smiling when talking about her.
With a fan-boy director in her corner, all she had to do was ask LJH what he's working on next.

The director busy fan-boying Shin Hye-Sun. Smiled only when watching SHS act, and was teased for only smiliing when talking about her during the press conference too.
LJH&SHS met as SBS 2018 award ceremony co-MC's, and SHS pursued LJH's casual good bye comment about 'see you again' and ended up getting the role - of course she was director's first choice for her role.

Hello. This was a promotion for Innocence now on pay-per-view. The director came on to promote it himself.
He explains why he chose SHS for the role (based on Secret Forest and how even as a newbie she could always hold her own even when working with veteran actors). At about 8:30 the lady host asks him whether there was anything she did which was even beyond his high expectations after selecting her for the role, and at 9:00 and at 9:20, he points out how she could control tears from her left and right eye, then from right and left! Did we all notice that?
Some other director's insights include how the word 'Innocence' on the screen at the end isn't the same word at the beginning - hint hint
and at 17:00 the opening scene was done with a stable camera showing her confidence in the court room but the scene near the end was done with a hand-held camera, in line with the emotionally shaken state reflected in her face in juxtaposition to the Jung-In in the opening scene. Wonderful recap of a superb debut role by Shin Hye-Sun and a glimpse of all that went in for the production team to make it all happen, which magnifies the talent and dedication she and everyone brought to the game.

Also, the director said how when he was working on this script with the writer, he was taking care of his mother during the day and working at night, how a mother-daughter relationship was very much on his mind during the work, and how he would, during the week of Chu-Seok (Korean fall festival when everyone visits home and parents in the country-side), recommend viewing 'Innocence' with your elderly mother or father together.
SpoilerWhich reminds me, the song that a man sings at the very beginning and the same song Jung-In's mother Hwa-Ja sings with young Jung-In on her lap at the end is 'At the Flower Field'
a beautiful piece that added much to the movie once I heard this director's comment.

So great to hear much good news coming out again. Finally.
I watched Mr Sunshine and felt BYH is the BEST actor from the stellar cast, so I was thrilled to read that SHS will do a movie with him. It sounds like she will die first, and the rest of the movie will be a flashback? I hope they can time travel into a parallel universe and save her in the end - but I don't care how it ends - just that she's working with the best actors, and that this is one more Movie, is the best new! Yes!!
I did see 'Innocence' finally, and she did not disappoint, but somewhat like her first lead role in a drama, she was 'hard-carry'ing by herself a somewhat subdued script and production, so that's why I am all the more happy to hear that DoGul, 도굴, Collector, is coming out in November possibly!! Yess!!! I expect this to be more entertaining and fun role for SHS, and more profitable - sounds like Innocence did break even, which is no small task.
I've asked the mods to unlock that thread so we can post more there.
