  1. It was mentioned last night that Jin clan possesses divine powers, just like a powerful priestess, it can control people’s souls and trap them to be helpless.
Because Mu Deok aka Bu yeon is one person, her sensory ability acted on the time of souls swapping between Naksu and the tavern staff, she drawn Naksu’s soul into her. She only allowed Naksu to use her power if facing danger.
Still one of the biggest questions here; why can’t she (Bu yeon) remember anything from her past? Was it ordinary memory lost or a shaman spell causes her memory lost?
Anyway first part of ep15 visuals is great. Especially the icicle spell that trapped Jin Mu to move. :yay:
Love pretty Jung So min at Jinyowon place scene. Her small face and petite frame makes her looks more younger than her age.

  2. spacer.png The drama’s production team commented, “In episodes 15 and 16 that air this week, Jang Wook and Mu Deok will pull out their feelings, and the teacher-student romance will surface, so please check it out through the broadcast.”

Brace yourself guys! Since the prod is throwing punches, a straight jab that instilled excitement

    (they said teacher-student romance :7555_attack:

Oh boy, I’m excited to the bone!

I still think Master Lee is bluffing, BUT I also think there is more to him than we have been shown. And if he is the original soul of the original founder of Songrim, that wouldn't be surprising. (Or maybe Uk is a reincarnation of the founder, instead?)

Probably the latter, remember the two silhouettes in the clouds/mist; the silhouettes looks like Uk and bu yeon.

Also it could be just me, but the kiss felt a little bit underwhelming for how much they've been hyping it. Not because it was just a peck, but more like, the situation leading into it. Idk, the entire scene just felt awkward, like the writers being pressured to add a kiss scene despite it's not actually fitting to the characters and the plot. Wait, now that i think about it, it's actually very on-brand of them to lead the kiss with bickering. Still, the whole scene feels a little bit disjointed, and lacks of 'swoony' qualities that i've been hoping for. Well i hope we'll get better kiss(es) in the future.

i also find it underwhelming. the kiss scene looks like forcefully inserted, was it because extraordinary attorney woo serves extra excitement to its viewers?

Even though the much awaited kiss was lackluster last night, there are other parts of tonight’s episode serves good point. Master lee’s revelation is unexpected. Is he trying to blow shaman choi’s cover?
I’m glad that Yul’s reason to step in this match is out of concern and unselflessness. the showcasing of the mastery spells is limited to 4 specialties, it was a bit short though but still engaging to watch.

Talking about the Crown Prince, i guess his jealousy is rooting from loneliness,  he doesn’t have friend to celebrate his joy, nor a friend to share his sadness. a screaming opposite with Jang Uk circumstances, growing up jang Uk was outcasted by many because of unglamorous rumors and yet he wasn’t lacking of love, he received it enormously from maidservant kim, park jin and master Heo, and from his genuine friendship from yul, dang gu and cho yeon.

We also see the reality of this society, that people will rain on your parade because they’re jealous of your sun and tired of their shade. the three lousy mages is the representation of it. I won’t be surprised if Danju sect would recruit them to join ther evilness.

  5. First part of ep 12 is scene between Jang Uk and Mu Deok. I guess the director is teasing its viewers, the leads convey chemistry without skinship. So far, the “boldest” act we got from two leads is hugs and touching arms alone but I felt the connection between Jang Uk and Mu Deok.  Some may not agree but   I’ll just wait for them to kiss and see how the two leads will flick the fires as Jung Uk and Mu Deok. :7555_attack:

On the side note. We saw the Jin patriarch at the gathering where Jin Mu perform the soul shifting ritual, its just a wild guess but I think he’s spying on Jin Mu activities.

Who is shaman choi? The soul that residing the queen’s body.

but that lesson certainly carried forward to the love letter- announcement about Songrim hiring that was tossed to him by MD. The very upfront interpretation of the feelings behind her actions and JU’s forward response made my toes tingle! Kekeke. The last scene was so good.

That last scene is the highlight of last night episode. Truly beautiful and …the poem as well.

  8. Many here are frustrated with this week episodes. :onfirex:
Many kept babbling about scenes that routing to love triangle angle (yes we had a fillers episodes this week), though some scenes  seems unnecessary but it is necessary. The sequences are still coherent to one another. (New characters doesn’t pop up out of nowhere).

Aren’t we reviewing the drama on the unnecessary love triangle alone?, between Park Jin, headservant Kim and master lee. Or the intense want of Jang Uk and Mu Deok. to be together for a while? :what!:

The hiring scenes needs no dynamics to execute. If it is Naksu’s souls acting in academic, I’m expecting her to fail it too.  I’m expecting her to be illiterate. The writer is still kind enough, to make her literate and able to write, read and calculate.
I bet many, of you miss the “cried for help glances” of Mu Deok with the Crown Prince when he came to drop the perfectly  answered test question. ( :hwaiting:Look for it).

Naksu might be street smart because of life circumstances she had but It is also sensible that Naksu’s character is uneducated. That’s the norms for commoners in period drama genre.

Naksu is one lucky girl. She’s getting love from everyone, even the Crown Prince servant is cheering for her.

  9. So Mu Deok is Jin Ho-kyung’s lost daughter.  A powerful sorcerer that was even able to locate the ice stone. The way she could detect energy was like no other. This is why the secret door in Jinyowon opened up to her and why her soul can enter the limbo space during Alchemy of souls ritual. Technically Mu Deok energy is helping Naksu soul not to run wild as their souls is cohabiting in one body.
Moving on, it seems like this friend of Mu-deok’s is soon going to be targeted by Jin Mu, she’s walking the city with that blindfold she has been carrying, and can be easily spotted.

Watching the drama sometimes i’ve seen there’s a difference with Jang Uk’s manner of speakings (with Mu Deok and with Naksu).
I have the same observation with Mu Deok’s manner of speaking as a servant and as his master when they’re alone and no one’s looking. Maybe there is, we can never tell.

  10. https://www.soompi.com/article/1536157wpp/lee-jae-wook-breaks-songrims-rules-to-sneak-out-and-see-jung-so-min-in-alchemy-of-souls

Even Songrim’s walls can’t contain Lee Jae Wook’s growing feelings for Jung So Min in “Alchemy of Souls”!

Penned by the famous screenwriting duo known as the Hong Sisters, “Alchemy of Souls” is a tvN fantasy romance drama set in the fictional nation of Daeho, a country that does not exist in history or on maps. The drama tells the story of characters whose fates become twisted due to magic that swaps people’s souls.

    Spoilers

On the previous episode of “Alchemy of Souls,” Jang Wook (Lee Jae Wook) turned to Mu Deok (Jung So Min) for guidance on which house he should join. Heeding her advice, he ultimately decided to join Songrim’s educational institution Jeongjingak.

In newly released stills from the drama’s upcoming episode, the smitten Jang Wook misses Mu Deok so badly after entering Jeongjingak that he sneaks out just to see her. But despite Jang Wook going so far as to break Jeongjingak’s rules in order to see Mu Deok, she incidentally happens to be out when he stops by, and he is forced to head back without even catching a glimpse of her face.

Fortunately, however, Mu Deok winds up hearing that Jang Wook came to see her—and in a heartbreaking moment, the two of them stare longingly at each other from afar as Jang Wook drifts away on his boat ride back to Jeongjingak.

The producers of “Alchemy of Souls” teased, “This scene will become a turning point in the story that causes an explosion of feelings between Jang Wook and Mu Deok that goes beyond just the fluttering of their hearts, and it will lead their relationship to develop further. You can safely look forward to it.”

To find out how the relationship between Jang Wook and Mu Deok evolves after he enters Jeongjingak, catch the next episode of “Alchemy of Souls” on July 16 at 9:10 p.m. KST!
