    Lee Yoo Joon Talks About Working With Park Seo Joon And Hwang Bo Ra In “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim”

    Lee Yoo Joon recently sat down and talked about his work in “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim” and his feelings towards working with Park Seo Joon and Hwang Bo Ra.

     

    The actor appeared in the drama as Jung Chi In, the department head affiliated with the vice president of Yoo Myung Company. He tried to know of all the information circulating through the company and butted in the affairs of not only Lee Young Joon and Kim Mi So, but all the workers in the vice president’s secretariat.

    Lee Yoo Joon first discussed working with his cast members. When asked if there were any actors that remained in his memories, he replied, “They were all great. Hwang Bo Ra in particular was like a vitamin. I think I learned [from them] more than anything. To be honest, everyone except for me seemed to already know one another. I wondered a lot about how to act with the other actors when it was awkward. Right then, I saw Bo Ra throwing herself out there without any reservation. I felt then that it wasn’t about acting well, it was about acting while having fun. After that, I started filming while having fun as well. I was shocked and amazed by Bo Ra.”

     

    Next, he was asked about Park Seo Joon’s acting as the vice president, and what he was like in real life. Lee Yoo Joon replied, “The character of Young Joon was really unique. There were some cringy lines in the drama like, ‘Young Joon, you bastard,’ or ‘Aura.’ He probably felt that it was cringy as well, but he took it in well as if those were his lines. It was amazing. I watched ‘Midnight Runners,’ which he stars in, but he seemed different from back then. I was really surprised. His appearance and personality were great as well. He worked extremely hard and put in a lot of effort on set. I’m thankful towards Seo Joon of course, but I’m truly grateful towards his fans. They sent us a coffee truck where we could drink ice-cold coffee in the sweltering heat.”

     

    Finally, he was asked about Park Seo Joon and Park Min Young’s dating rumors that followed the finale of “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim.” After being asked if he heard anything on set, or if he felt anything as part of the secretariat, Lee Yoo Joon responded, “I also learned of [the rumors] from the news. I didn’t even hear about it on set. It was to the point where I wondered, ‘Am I the only one who didn’t know?’ After the news broke, we didn’t say anything in our [the actors’] group chat. I’m not very knowledgeable about dating rumors within the entertainment industry, nor am I interested.”

    Park Min Young Shares Reaction To Positive Reviews For “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim” + Her Thoughts On Next Project

    Park Min Young talked about how she reacted to favorable comments on her performance in “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim.”

     

    In a recent interview with Sports Today, Park Min Young said that she thinks it’s not a good idea for actors to let themselves be emotionally affected by either favorable reviews or criticisms of their performances. In addition, she said that her experience with “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim” made her realize the importance of not getting cold feet despite an initial negative response.

     

    “I was aware that the reaction to my casting at the start wasn’t good,” she said. “It became my overall goal to make it so that while at first there may be resistance, I’d do well so that in the end I’d receive applause. I think I felt a sense of purpose as an actor, and I strongly felt that I needed to keep trying. Although I didn’t sleep much while doing this drama, it was so much fun. I really enjoyed acting. The staff also said to me, ‘You seem so excited that people watching you are having a good time too.'”

    Park Min Young shared how she felt once the reviews and comments came in after the drama premiered.

    “I saw the reaction after the first episode, and I smiled on my own under my covers,” she said. “But since I hadn’t heard favorable reviews during that time, I suddenly burst into tears. I felt so grateful that my efforts were being recognized. My next thought was ‘Since the drama has started off well, it needs to end well too.'”

    When asked about her plans for her next work, Park Min Young replied, “After doing a rom-com this time, I want to do a comedy. The atmosphere for a project that’s a comedy was really great. Since I’ve had a taste of the comedic genre, I want to do it some more.”

    She continued, “However, it’s not good to repeat the same thing when acting, so I also want to try something new. There’s still a lot that I haven’t tried.”

    I understand that this is a shippers thread, but I also think it's valid for shippers themselves to have doubts. I think having second thoughts and doubting is inherent to the nature of this shipping business, but I hope we can create a safe space that allows people to seek reassurance from others WITHOUT being attacked. Just because someone has doubts about some piece of evidence at some point in time does NOT make them a 'hater' or 'doubter' by default. I don't advocate for 'negative' vibes (if that's what we wanna call it), but I also don't think it's healthy to antagonize people for having different opinions. Everything comes in tides - the good and the bad, but we just need the patience to ride it out. If we jump on someone each time they voice something that doesn't particularly resonate with us, we're going to dwindle down in number very fast. I don't mean to call anyone out in this post, because I understand that everyone is coming from a place that is good and valid - keeping that in mind, I hope we can all move forward respectfully :) :heart:
