  1. Okay, but like... WHAT?! I agree with the lot of you, that it's probably not HJ who is doing the whole stabby stabarooni. Looking at the preview for the next episode, it also doesn't seem that way. Something I like to do if I really want to know something about the next episode, is to play the preview for it in slow motion, you definitely catch more this way. HJ seemed confused as to what is going on in the preview, so either he is innocent or acting innocent. When HJ says "You don't think I could kill you?" in the preview, they make it seem like he's saying it to GH, but my theory is that he's saying it to someone else. Perhaps LS. BUT, what's the picture that HJ got? When GH brought up her clue about the stabby being someone from that police district, and looking at HJs' sunbae copying HJ's notes, I got suspicious of sunbae. He is asking a lot of questions about HJ's suspicious activity in most episodes, perhaps he wants to find out something specific, or perhaps he knows more than what we think he knows. But, okay, how could we explain what happened in the final scene of this episode, then? That's what I'm trying to figure out. Is it the good ol' "I have an evil twin" trope? Does HJ have a split personality? Did LS arrange it, somehow? Is it a lie that only the resetters memories travel in time? Which would then lead to: Is another version (future or past) of HJ the murderer? What other theory would seem probable... Being filthy rich from his papa, did Mr. son of future minister disguise as HJ and did the stabs? The height difference points to no, though. What are your guys' theories on what's going on?
  2. It's really nice reading your guys' summaries of what you thought of Money Game's wrap up. Having this amount of open endings leave us to wrap things up ourselves. You could definitely tell that if MG were to be a successful drama, there could easily become a season 2 of it. Perhaps that's one thought the writer had when creating the ending. Personally, I'd be happy if it happened, but it definitely doesn't feel like a necessity. Props to all of the characters and the portrayal of them in MG. Most of the characters had true depth to them, it was enjoyable to see them succeed, crumble and evolve. Extra love from me goes to Shim Eun Kyung and her Lee Hye Joon. I remember back after she had finished Tomorrow Cantabile (her drama before this one), she felt a bit disappointed in her portrayal of her character there and insecure about jumping into another kdrama. Hye Joon is such a brilliant and strong woman, I'm happy Eun Kyung ssi was given the opportunity to portray her and doing so very well.
  3. I just finished the final episode... My heart is in pieces. I'm satisfied with the ending. Not extremely satisfied, but definitely satisfied. I actually do like that we tie back to things happening in the beginning, like Hye Joon feeling discomfort, which evolves to comfort, in her co-workers. And also leaving some things with an open ending was nice: Are Hye Joon's aunt and uncle going to get along again? Are any of our "love stories" - Eugene X Hye Joon X Yi Hun - going to evolve? Will Heo Jae stick to his old beliefs? Money Game, I'll miss you <3
  4. I agree with @hush puppy with epsiode 15 being a bit slow. Definitely also hoping we will see the final episode go hard in the paint. Going back to ep 14, I want to point out something from 2 scenes in this episode. The scenes where Eugene drinks with Yi Hun and later on with Hye Joon. Yi Hun asks Eugene what money means to him, and why Eugene chose Korea to make this kind of money. Nonchalant, Eugene replies that money is simple, desirable and a way to see his achievements in numbers. Why Korea? Simple: It's where Eugene can make money. Later on, a troubled Eugene searches for and finds a troubled Hye Joon. Hye Joon does not ask him these questions, but Eugene shares his sincere intentions and feelings. The true answers for Yi Hun's questions. It's not that simple at all, for him. The source of it all lies in his care for his mother. But, why Korea? Come on, it's Hye Joon that Eugene is talking to. This smart woman knows the reason why, undoubtedly. The country where Eugene's mother originated from: Korea. In "vengeance" for his mother, he wants to take the money from his mother's homeland, and give her a better life (although somewhere on the road, his own greed overtakes him.) The things he shares with Hye Joon are definitely unlike with anyone else. I do wonder if he is as equally open when talking to his mother. In episode 15, we never saw if Eugene thought about the facts that Hye Joon put right in front of his face. Perhaps he always knew, he always was aware of it, but never wanted to admit it. That could be why it was upsetting to see someone else know the truth.
  5. This was probably the most beautiful comparison / compliment I've ever heard in a drama before. It might be due to my adoration of early morning sunlights, but nevertheless it was so beautiful to hear The chemistry between Yi Hun and Hye Joon has indeed been very lovely to watch, especially in the earlier episodes. They seem so comfortable with each other. There were definitely some quote-worthy dialogues in that episode, one of which came from our ray of sunshine herself: <3
  6. I thought about this, too. Eugene didn't seem to have his mind occupied by anything other than greed (due to his mother's wellbeing) for a majority of his life, is my guess, until he met someone who reminded him of the reason he became greedy. And, I wonder why Eugene asked Tina if she liked any jewels. What was in his mind when he asked that? Was it Hye Joon? His mother? Or (unlikely but perhaps) genuine interest in Tina?
  7. Every week I've waited for Wednesday to come, and it's hard to believe that we're at our final 2 episodes next week. It's been a while since I've actually stayed highly interested in a drama week after week, with no break in between. It is a rare thing for me nowadays. Like some other chingus here, the subject of economy may go over my head a lot - I'm not very knowledgable in this area. But it's also very nice to learn new things and terms in this subject, nonetheless. What initially caught my interest in Money Game was the production. The first impression of MG for me was that it was beautiful in a dark and rough way. The music production, lighting etc had me enchanted. Then, we found out more about our characters: Yi Hyun who wants to stand for what is right for the people, but can get swayed by other sources. Heo Jae, who knows exactly where he stands in his opinion, is steadfast on it not changing and would do many things to get what he wants. Hye Joon, who initially was torn between being herself and fitting in, and we see her being a sympathetic person for humans and their rights. Eugene Han (who we all know caught our attention ), whose greed overcomes him (likely) due to his dark and difficult past. I've been lurking here and enjoying reading all of your comments here! In a drama like this with deep characters played by excellent actors, a lot can be speculated upon and discussed. Oh how I will miss this drama after this next week.
  8. I got some life back from seeing the happiness of the Parasite crew and tried to update the first post. I did end up editing more than what it shows now, but Soompi didn't like me pressing ctrl + z, and instead of undoing one thing, undid everything I'll get to update it more soon
  9. Welcome to the Soompi thread dedicated to the actress Park So Dam, the actress who started her career with a boom. Starring in successful movies such as Sado (The Throne) and The Priests, for which she won a Baeksang Award in 2016 for Best New Actress, Park So Dam is a hard-working actress with an impressive amount of works in a very short time. In 2019, she starred in Bong Joon Ho's movie Parasite, which won several international awards, including The Oscars. FACTS AND INFO Full name: Park So Dam (Bak So Dam) Age: 29 Birthday: September 8th, 1991 Birthplace: South Korea Height: 165cm Occupation: Actress Active years: 2013 - Education: Graduated from Korea National University of Arts and Chungshin Girls' High School Agency: Artist Entertainment "I don't plan on getting plastic surgery. I don't want to face a wall because of my looks. I want to be an actress who is an issue for her performance and not her looks" At the age of 17, Park So Dam saw the musical "Grease" and noticed the happiness among the actors, singing and dancing. That's when she realized she wanted to join that lifestyle. During her school years, she enjoyed working hard and rarely took breaks. As she has participated in many projects these last years, we see how she is still working as hard today. With the pressure of not having the "beauty" and big eyes like other actresses, Sodam thought she was only fit for doing stage performances. Even her parents thought it wasn't in her genes to become an actress. So when several producers from different movies scouted Sodam, she was very grateful towards their appreciation of her looks. Today, she is herself appreciative of her small eyes, and how she has the looks which no plastic surgeon can recreate. She also claims how she wishes to be an actress who is acknowledged by her acting performance, and not by her looks. Her family today is very supportive that she is doing a job that she loves doing. Since she has played in very few roles which are bright and cheery, many think of Park So Dam as a woman with a darker personality. However, this is not the case. Instead, she says how she is drawn to characters with some form of emotional pain, wanting to give them comfort. Sodam shows how she would like to be adventurous in her acting, wanting to try out different kind of roles, such as: characters with emotional pain, a frank and honest character mostly played by men, and a character in a more mature state. Even though her role in "The Priests" was considered to be scary, when filming, Sodam wanted to make it look even more scarier during her scenes. This shows how she is not afraid of taking on bold roles and how she is passionate about portraying them.
