  1. WOW WOW WOW, I WATCHED EPISODE 15 A COUPLE HOURS AGO AND NOW IVE FINISHED BACKTRACKING! WHAT AN EPISODE!! I STILL HAVE NO CLUE HOW THIS IS GONNA END!!! UGH!!!

I didnt see anyone else mention this but we still haven't seen the sword being used to kill someone or do something  (except on the eventful night where LR uses it to kill LGs dad and baby LG uses it hurt LR) but LG does go to the past with it (as seen at the end of this episode). So the scene where LR tries to shoot at LG while time is frozen, no objects work. What if the sword is the exception? What if that's the only thing that will work? If LG can somehow make a plan to once again freeze time at the right spot (whatever he believes the right spot in time that is), and use the sword to kill LR, I think that'll be the winning scenario. IDK LIKE CMON SWORD DO SOMETHING!!

Once again though this episode had me CRYING, especially when LG requested JTE to let him go. That was heartbreaking. Like I couldn't even see the screen cause I was crying so much :( I think all of our sentiments are the same as JTE's, our couple didn't do anything bad and yet they are being punished the most, their love is being put to the test every time.

I'm gonna put my interpretation of episode 15 below. Sorry this will be LONG.. But it will be worth it to read!!! I will be reviewing major scenes.

    Spoiler

    Episode 15

    1) The way I get the whole timeline thing is that when the past changes the future versions of them change as well, like in terms of their memories, the memories get added but it doesn't seem like the old memories get deleted. They just have two memories of the same things happening, memory 1 (first time they met everything happened at a very slow pace) and memory 2 (because JTE embraced her fate much earlier second time around, things happened more quickly between them but generally their fate stayed the same which leads them to where they are now). This means that in both those memories, our characters ended up in the same spot in April. So in order to change that, something needs to happen on the eventful night WHILE still allowing the original timeline to flow - that is if LR is killed, baby LG will have the whole flute growing up, meaning he can go to JTE faster BUT that's only if someone leaves JTE's ID card there. The original timeline will still flow this way because baby LG will wonder who helped him and wonder who's the ID girl which will lead him to finding the portal but this time he will have the orange/red portal (because the flute will be together in one spot) not the green portals we see when the flute pieces are divided in half and used in separate spaces. It seems like though that this is going to be very hard to achieve. There are high chances of failure because JTE has brought herself into the picture. According to the preview, LG and JY are shooting up the place meaning JTE may not have been successful in getting LR killed, what if they both end up surviving and we now have 2 LRs? JTE is heading to a VERY unknown territory because she only knows about the night but doesn't know about every detail like KSJ. LR1 could be taking JTE hostage and LR2 could be killing baby LG as planned. They may manage to kill LR2 but miss out on LR1. I dont know why but I feel like they have to go to the past one more time because everything and everyone being so involved in one night is only increasing the chances of failure because lack of communication and lack of information. But lets see what happens!

    2) KSJ was abandoned by his mom and chose to become LR's helper to give SJ a better life.

3)KSJ given order by new and more evil LR (will call him LR-EVIL from now on) to get LGs whip and kill him otherwise he will hurt both his moms - KSJ mentions he isn't that good of a son.

4)Nari mentions to LR-EVIL that his fate was extended when he got hurt by baby LG, meaning as long as he has that scar, he will continue to be beheaded and commit treason - I think this will apply no matter what. WE thought LR-EVIL will never go to the past again because he will meet LR-EVIL2 again and repeat the same richard simmons, but LOOK AT US, they're taking him back to do JUST THAT, follow fate, follow the timeline, etc. Same stuff is happening but in a way that suits the current thinking of the characters.

    5) Luna didn't hurt JTE as much because he felt bad for her father and she doesn't want JTE's organs. Although that'd be nice, Luna at this point already accepted she will die soon enough. This whole conversation was interesting because we didn't get to SEE ALL OF IT. I think JTE realized Luna either mirrors her really well or Luna is her from a timeline failure. Which is what leads onto the next scene. (REFER TO POINT #17 FOR CONTINUATION)

    6) LG is ABLE to come out of the portals right in time to where he left (almost). So it's good enough. It works out.

7)LG and JTE discuss their NEW memories while retaining their old memories. I'm still unsure if the memories update to the new version or they retain both memories but regardless, whatever it is, their love stays the same and they end up in the same spot.

8)Seems like LG's conversation with his ROK mom was much more deeper than I thought, seems like when LG said she can't come back, it could mean she has to kill herself or LR will kill her, which I doubt it would be LR, cause he planned to show her off as proof that there is another world and cause havoc in ROC. Now their conversation is so interesting cause it could be interpreted in so many ways. When LG says he'll help her,  I'm thinking it means help her come back to ROK but then she says will you come and save me? Come two days before the anniversary. I know the date too and thats when LG decides how he will ambush LR. To her being saved means to die. To be saved from the pain of this world and the guilt she holds for her own sins. Also, I think they're in ROK since they were all seen in ROC in the previous scene and would have to cross the portal to make time stop and the two doppelgangers from ROC who are working as businessmen in ROK can be seen.

9)PM Koo seems to have always been that bit*h, looks like LRs job to her was to get LG or the Kingdom since she didn't get either and he even didnt get to attend the mass, he makes her regret it as seems to have replaced her mom.

    10) LG exiles PBs son for helping LR on the eventful night and KSJ abandons his REAL mom. Although, literally, emotionally he seems to still be very connected to her. That's the vibes I got.

    11) LG and KSJ go over the eventful night. LG says maybe baby LG will die since next time he plans to go back he will focus on killing LR as he tries to kill baby LG. Things to note here are that KSJ now knows everything, in detail that happened that night and JTE has an idea overall but no details and she still does not know about this plan yet.

12)LGs doppelganger mom in ROK poisons herself and LR gets poisoned as well although slightly, I think once he touched the flute, it may have stopped the effects of the poison. Cause otherwise, shouldn't he be DEAD? He then proceeds to look for LG as he expects him to show up somewhere near him. They meet, LR gets mad, LG says he's delayed his natural death too long (by 25 years since he should be 70) and that too many people are working towards his downfall. LR gets further upset and tries to shoot.Moving objects we learn now don't move, and he's left there even more angry. LG says time will be stopped for awhile now and the way LR interprets his "time" seems to be in steps as according to Netflix translation he says time first only stopped for 22 steps and now LG has made his time stop even longer and he can't have or do anything, ugh he sounds like a bratty kid LOL.

    13) LR gets shot in left leg by JY. KSJ, LG, and JY abduct LR to his gate and try to open it. We learn now that only LR can open his gate because his blood got infused with his piece. Blood creates association with the flute. But then we see, regardless of that, once the flute is together, LGs grandfather King Haejong's gate is opened AND LR knows about it meaning he's heard about it from someone, either his own father or his mother. LR also mentions that LG now has eternity and infinity in his hands. But LG says the Flute isn't crying thus he can't go to the night of the treason. LR says bro you're dumb, but fine go ahead and do it but now someone's gotta assist me to my gate and my fate, meaning someone may die in the process, who will you give a potential death sentence too? JY and KSJ then try to decide who will sacrifice themselves. Seems like KSJ gets chosen here.

    14) LG seems to go into the orange/red portal, the one his grandfather used, since the appearance is very different inside, looks very peaceful and bright - also it seems to be a beachy area (remember we saw a spoiler of LG and JTE at the beach but who knows if it'll be related to this)

    15) LR is sent to ROK and LG decides in ROC that he will have Se-jin be next in line to the throne. JTE misses LG and the flowers he gave her in episode 10 begin to disappear. Girl, isn't this a positive thing? Idk.

16)JTE runs to question LR about more details, asking about the Flute, where it is and who has it. LR understands with her questions she is ready to die. Now, she also wants to be the sacrifice (potentially). LR still doesn't understand why everyone is going to such great lengths to prevent everything, etc and be the sacrifice or whatever but that's the result of not knowing what love is and not knowing when you've crossed too many lines. BUT what he says is very interesting, she should be very scared because regardless of where he is, he has a plan in motion. He still brings hell upon LG and the PM. He kills off Se-jin using pregnant lady and replaces PMs mom (mom doesn't say she had mackerel for dinner, that was their code) and it's the first time I've seen the PM scared of someone. If someone as evil as her is now scared, and now has potentially lost her mom forever, I think LR may still have stuff up his sleeves which is why JTE going with him to 1994 in ROC is very dangerous, but maybe that's the change that needs to happen?

    17) Back to JTE and Luna. JTE uncuffs Luna, says she's leaving for awhile so she has to stay with her father and live for a long time so he doesn't get upset and to steal something for her (@SweetButters mentioned it may be the ID, and I agree but where is the ID?). JTE (seemingly) and KSJ have a talk about LR and the Flute. She seems to have caught up to the plan. JTE and KSJ have a heart to heart, he confesses, she confesses she loves LG and that she needs to do this for love, sanity and the world. KSJ holds JTE's hand and seems to give in.

18)LG figures out the scar on his neck is related to his destiny, he will have to change that destiny, even if it means he dies. He also reveals he knew Lady Noh was from ROK but never brought it up because he was afraid she would want to go back. He also asks her permission to let him go.Lady Noh's cries calling out to Pyeha were so heartbreaking... ugh what a scene

19)JTE wears THE NECKLACE. LG is WEARING THE SUIT. LG has the sword, probably has the Flute too (his original half) and JY joins him to go to the past.

Hopefully all that made sense. Let me know your thoughts. I will also be doing my interpretation of episode 16 preview later today as well. Goodnight

  2. This episode was JAM PACKED! I couldnt even think of any theories cause I WAS TOO BUSY CRYING!!! JTE realizing that LG is stuck in the past and is slowly making his way to her.. was truly heartbreaking. My heart broke every time she recalled a new memory, which is so odd to type but that's TKEM! Wow, I'm just so impressed and I really hope there's a happy ending for our couple.

ALSO, I'D LIKE TO SAY FU** YOU TO LUNA FOR STABBING JTE AND POISONING LG. I KNEW YOU WERE BAD WHEN YOU DIDN'T MIND KILLING OFF THAT MANS CHILD EVEN THOUGH HE TOOK ALL YOUR MONEY. JUST UGH WHY ARE YOU SO EVIL!!!!!!!!!

KSJ, 14 EPISODES LATER IS STILL STUCK IN THE SAME PLACE, LIKE BOY, HOW DO YOU STILL NOT KNOW WHO YOU ARE?

JY, LIKE I'M JUST SO CONFUSED ABOUT WHAT HE WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE PLOT, YOU HAVE A MAJOR CHARACTER THAT DOES NOTHING MAJOR.

Anyways, can't wait for tomorrow's episode, I'm ready to cry again! Praying for a happy ending otherwise I'm gonna have to check into therapy cause I'm gonna be a wreck

  3. I am finally done back tracking about 30+ pages, that's what happens if you don't check in for two days!!!

My vote went to LG+JTE just because they're my babes and I REALLY HOPE ITS AN EPIC COUPLE THING.

But I think I'm wrong so most likely my punishment will be either putting LR's face as my picture or Maximus's thighs

    Spoiler

    giphy.gif?cid=ecf05e473be1fff58764096ce2

My brain says there are two saviors for sure, so either it'll be LG1 and LG2 OR LG and KSJ. But my heart just says to pick LG and JTE and there we have it folks!

    Wow, the new stills!

Either thats Luna, trying to emotionally get KSJ to do something for her or it's KSJ and JTE having a heart to heart talk about trying to convince him to become savior #2? To get him involved in the whole thing because he's the only person she truly truly trusts with something like that.

So as I was catching up, I made little notes about theories I have that'll create controversy so here goes:

    Spoiler

1)You ever think, if LR planted so many of his people in both worlds, etc - that the previous Kings or even LG of another timeline didn't do that? I'm sure they have people that are meant to be in the other world but live in ROC per the Kings orders. Why? Who knows. Lady Noh would be a good example of this. If not for the war and saving her, etc, why else bring her over? I'm also sure there were many people over the years the Kings met who had very sad stories, so I think more people are on LGs side than we think. So basically, I think our police chief and his wife may be one of them - which is why they give off the mysterious aura.

2)JY is so questionable to me, like ever since LG left him in ROK, and whenever LG was able to come visit, he hasnt TOLD HIM ANYTHING? Like you just got SHOT and you don't tell your BEST FRIEND? So back to his gunshot wound, a fresh gunshot wound does not look like that, not even one that has come from wearing a bulletproof vest - they're usually VERY RED and VERY SWOLLEN. His wound was black, and spread out.. almost starting to give the image of the black scars that the dead bodies had that the scientist (chiefs wife) showed LG in ROC.

    3) Since I think most of us agree that LR didn't actually have 25 years to plan and take over the two worlds, he actually had maybe 2-3 years. One must wonder, well then how does he know what's going on outside? What's keeping him informed? I think one of his minions who takes the pictures, leaves them by the entrance of his portal. Which is why LR's background in the in between place was pictures. Those are his referral points and his main source of information. Cmon, dude worships his pictures, has a whole red room full of them.

4)I love WDH. Truly but BOY. How do you as the Kings main protector allow him to get "poisoned" in the 5 seconds you leave. Like talk about TIMING. Did you not check your surroundings? JY, KSJ and JTE are the main people who know about Luna on LGs side. JY knowing from the beginning back in ROC. He would know whos who. YOU HAD ONE JOB. Really, makes me wonder, what are you truly hiding JY? [I want to refer back to another scene also where JTE visits JY in the hotel and he is very surprised, AS IF he was expecting someone else.]

5)Another thing about the saviors, the fit and style of what they're wearing comes from ROK. JTE giving LG the outfit in ROK because that's what they use in ROK to keep low-key. Obviously, the only people who have seen this outfit are JTE, LG, JY-- but not KSJ. KSJ seems to naturally wear similar outfits since he doesn't like to have attention on him anyways but he hasn't seen THE OUTFIT. So, I think the most likely people to be the second savior are people who have seen the outfit so that they can mimic the look!

Thank you for including me in your list @Elnin Joery

AND WHAT IS THIS NEW SPOILER? WHY DOES LGs DAD NOT LOOK LIKE LGs DAD? @Heilo

    Spoiler

What if we're all just gonna theorize about this for the next 10 pages when it might just be that the actor was unable to make it to that particular shoot so they just photoshopped his face in..

Okay I’m watching episode 1 again and we have another mystery.  The rabbit costumed person that somehow made it to the palace - LG chases after them and that’s how he found the portal.  As he crosses, TE sees a glimpse of Luna in her mirror, which we know now is because the gateway opens and you can see your parallel self.  Luna is in the rabbit sweatshirt.  So within minutes (ish) of LG chasing a rabbit outfit person, TE sees Luna wearing that exact outfit.

So how and why did Luna run around the horse training grounds?

Oh god my JTE time remnant theory is banging around in my head and I just WANT TO SLEEP!

So when I was rewatching episode 1, I focused a lot on the face of the second bunny. It looked like a mans face to me but the body doesn't seem like a mans. We have to remember at that time Luna was caught and arrested which is why no one could find her on the streets. So her being in the Kings horse training grounds is impossible. It's someone else and like the random kid wearing the bunny outfit as well said it was a class outfit (episode 2)? Which is so odd? But sure.

    nuvrjrW.png 4YuUB6J.png

In terms of physique and looks, to me I thought it may be Shim Hyung Sa [Homicide detective on JTEs team] or Choi Nam Jin (Ep1,4 & 6) [The dude who beat up KSJ in ROK and whos doppelganger went rowing with LG in KOC] BUT IT MAKES NO SENSE SO ITS WHATEVER

ANOTHER THING I WANT TO POINT OUT IS THAT IN THAT SCENE, there are so many CCTVs present, but none of them captured the bunny? None of the guards saw the bunny's face? Someone's in on this cause how does the bunny just magically disappear? Only a handful of people knew that LG chased a person wearing a bunny's costume that day, the people at the rowing competition, JY, LR, LG, Seung Ah, Luna, the gangsters and possibly some Royal Guards.

  6. I'm thinking to livestream this episode as well, I haven't livestreamed for TKEM before, I hope the link I have works at the time fingers crossed!! I usually wait till midnight to watch it with subs, since I'm the type to relax and watch at night even though its available at around 7 AM for me here on Netflix. Which is why I'm always on here late at night, and I do my catch up then too! I do avoid spoilers all day though so that helps my experience later on.

I did do live recaps though for DOTS and I do understand conversational Korean enough but in terms of TKEM with its huge concepts and all that, it may be difficult but I'd like to be up for the challenge, it's a lot of back and forth though

Now for the theory of the day #1

We seem to be making a lot of assumptions about the flute and while I am relying on the English sub so this might be way off, but I think the choice of words is important. In episode one where the legend of the flute is explained LR said three important things.

1)The flute is revealed every 20 years.

2)That he took it from his brother, who had it but didn’t believe in it.

    3) His brother was allowed to see it everyday.

This means that the flute doesn’t disappear only to appear every 20 years. The ruler who's destiny it is to use is allowed to have it and see it. It may only be at full power and revealed to the next owner every 20 years. Because it is still around and could most likely be used by the king who it calls. A clue to this is found in episode 2 when we see a flashback to the boy king and lady Noh. The boy king tells Lady Noh that the reason he went to the scene of the killing is because he heard the flute. He said it was so loud that he didn’t even hear the gunfire. Lady Noh said that the flute doesn't make a sound yet it called to the young king. This is another sign that he is the rightful owner and controller of the flute. While his uncle may have half of the flute and use it to go between worlds the flute is not his destiny. If it was LR destiny the flute would have called to him and not the boy king. So the flute being in the wrong hands is the beginning of the imbalance between the worlds.

    2nd Theory

If time travel is important then there is more than one historical timeline to pay attention to to put things right. To regain balance between the two worlds the king will need to understand the different timelines. In Episode 2 the kings spent many days in the library studying the history of ROK. He was searching for reasons why the two worlds are so different and made an important discovery. The history of the two worlds didn’t separate until the life of Crown Prince Sohyeon who was born in 1612 in the ROK. In the history timeline of the ROK Wikipedia says in “ 1645, his father King Injo persecuted him for attempting to modernize Korea by bringing in Catholicism and Western science.” Crown Prince Sohyeon dies mysteriously in May of 1645 and never becomes king. But in the KOC Crown Prince Sohyeon does not die but instead lives to defeat the Chinese “Qing Dynasty”. He became king and most likely brought modernization to the KOC long before it would have happened in the parallel world of the ROK. History books mark this time period as being a turning point. Again Wikipedia states that “The defeat at the hands of 'barbarian' Manchus and the humiliation of the Joseon king as well as severance with their neighbor, the Ming dynasty, had a profound psychological impact on contemporary Korean society.” Understanding the difference in the history of the two worlds means that not everything is as clear as we understand it to be. What is true and expected in one world is not necessarily true in the other world. Lady Noh comes from a time stream where history is very different from the world she went to. The reasons why she is needed in the other world may therefore be tied more to the needs of the ruling family, This also explains why so many members of the kings family value math, science and medicine.  KOC has the leadership needed to set things right and are the only ones destined to bring  balance to both worlds. In maintaining the balance in these worlds history does matter.

Might this be because he has already killed his doppelganger? He did bring the corpse over to KOC and put a ring on it (not the Beyoncé way).

:joy: Yup, his dead doppelganger did have the ring but at that point in the interrogation room in episode 1, we don't know what hes done yet, has he killed his ROK brother, has he killed his doppelganger, has he killed little LJH yet, what did JTE and KSJ arrest him for, etc? He doesn't have the same amount of blood on his face either, but he does have the sword cut on his hands, and it doesn't look fresh, it looks OLD. I think we're dealing with 2 LRs like how we may be dealing with 2 LGs. If this LR in episode 1 interrogation room had just been arrested after murdering LGs father in ROC, that wound on his hands, would be SO FRESH. Also, he would have it bandaged like he did originally when he first saw the bamboo forest and came to ROK. Ugh its all so confusing

I watch it again, and compare with other episode and boom!!!  That's really KOC flag!!!  That's mean they are in Corea right?  How??

    Aahh really curious

Yeah, that whole scene is so odd. They have LRs identification paper. It's got the ROC sign on it but JTEs laptop I believe has the ROK sign. JTE asks if LR killed his brother, wouldn't JTE know that? And since we know KSJ is now from ROC originally, wouldn't he know that as well? Looks like a memory reset. Another reason why is because we saw KSJ and JY have a heart to heart about LGs history so KSJ know whats up with that. Unless they acting dumb on purpose.

Yeah, it could either be a bandage, that BIG ring Lady Noh had on (someone shared a picture of that) or could be one of these under the bandage:

    Spoiler

The reason I say under the bandage is because in this get up, we know because of the spoiler video, JTE gets stabbed and I recall seeing something on her ring finger then too, something a little shiny but obviously it wasn't the best quality video so. She seems bloody here so looks like she did get stabbed already or avoided it but got hurt in another way in the process. So most likely she was wearing this small ring underneath it or it could be that someone tried to steal her ring and tried to kill her over it, and I wouldn't be surprised at that since in dramas they show main characters losing valuables or breaking objects when something bad is going to happen..but the only thing that doesn't fit in this scenario is that JTE is a police officer and would be easily able to defend herself...but who knows.. she did get stabbed so maybe it was an element of surprise which left her unable to do anything.

Okay so during the LG in Savior running scene, she’s still got wounds on her hands.  So MAYBE if she’s killed and he’s going back through time, he’s trying to save her right before she dies?

But if she dies why does she remember him and hugs him

Guys I think our theories about her remembering him a little more every reset might come true

We need to STOP asking for BTS and spoilers, it's never gone well for us.  We ask for spoilers, we get someone dead.   We get the king in a hospital.  We get chicken.

I'm compiling a master list of the spoilers/promo that we DO know, although we don't know when in the next 4 episodes it's happening.  Please add more, I'm going off memory.

    Spoiler

Another spoiler I want to add is that picture of JTE and LG walking down a path in the bamboo forest, arms linked. LG seems to holding a newspaper and in a video taken during that time by KGEs staff, we could see the whip on the bench. So most likely LG would have his whip on him then too.

So in dramas, often times they like to point out a character is now fully evil when their hairstyle has changed. This is most definitely the case for KSR.

  9. After rewatching episode 1, I noticed some minor things:

While wearing his most honorable suit, LG stands infront of the gates with the sword in hand and flute(whip) sitting on Maximus.

    vrR61z6.png

On the eventful night, LR is seen like this before murdering LGs father

    tUGkxzP.png

In the 2020 scene we see at the beginning of episode 1 where LR is arrested, LR is seen like this:

    wPngKNs.png

    Also things to note:

    1) LR before entering into ROK for the first time, has no tie (I'm guessing he removes it after entering the bamboo forest) so although you see him with a tie in the first picture, he no longer has it on once he enters the bamboo forest and sees the doors to the other world for the first time.

    2) In the second picture, he isn't wearing the ring. We know that LR traveled to ROK for the first time with the ring on him but this could also mean that the police confiscated his items before the chat.

    Spoiler

In the spoiler video we saw of JTE crying as LJH walks past her, it is filmed at the same place our characters met for the first time.

    1C25K2Q.png

Also, I may have found a way to recognize LRs true umbrella, since we know now he has MANY. I will get back to you guys on that if I find evidence to support it.

  12. So after seeing this picture:

And then also referring to this:

    24 minutes ago, MairaA said:

Following the king’s will, the son, King Sinmun, built his father’s tomb on a small rocky islet off the east coast. He also built a temple overlooking the sea grave to respect his father’s noble will. One day, an official told the king a strange story. He said that a small island was floating towards the temple. The king asked a fortuneteller to interpret the unusual sign. The fortuneteller replied, “The late king has become a sea dragon and General Kim Yu-shin has become a heavenly god. They want to give you treasure to defend the country, so please go to the sea and receive the valuable present.” So the king went to the sea and looked at the floating island. From a distance, it looked like a turtle’s head, with a bamboo tree on the top. Oddly enough, the bamboo was divided into two pieces during the day, but would become one again at night.

I did some more research on the history of turtles in terms of history and I found the following points:

    1) Koreans respect turtles as symbols of long life, good life, and knowledge of the future.

    2) Chinese and Japanese cultures also revere turtles and consider them in similar ways. A turtle shows the relations between heaven, earth, humanity and nature. It tells us that we are microcosms of the infinite.

    3) A Japanese mythology and folklore website tells the story of a man, Urashima Taro, who protected a sea turtle from abuse. The grateful turtle takes the man to see the king of the sea who allows him to marry his daughter, the princess. The man then returns to his hometown and finds he has traveled into the future. This story says respect for turtles brings life and understanding beyond one's years.

    4) In Western culture, Aesop's story of the turtle and the rabbit stands for patience. The turtle moves slowly in a race, but it defeats the rabbit. The rabbit has speed but lacks understanding and constancy. Its rapid, changing movement makes it slower than the slow. The story's meanings include avoiding hubris and cultivating prudence. On a different level, it shows a path of wisdom related to love, faith, and reaching a goal in life.

    5) In another sense, turtles call us to understand the sea, freshwater, and all nature, on which human life depends. Life, the great chain of being, reveals interconnectedness everywhere, but many struggle to admit this truth. Humans shouldn't wish to distinguish themselves too strongly from other parts of nature. The turtle stands as a reminder of universal interdependence. Thoughts, words, and deeds that disrupt the balance of heaven and earth threaten life, good living, humanity, and nature.

  13. Quote
    Spoiler

    The full legend about Manpasikjeok
King Mumnu was the 30th ruler of the Silla Dynasty. With the help of famous general Kim Yu-shin, the king unified three kingdoms on the Korean Peninsula in the 7th century. On his deathbed, he asked his son to bury him in the East Sea, so that he could become a dragon and protect the kingdom from any foreign invasions even after his death. After seven days of heavy storms, the king rode a boat out onto the floating island. When he reached the island, a dragon appeared and said, “My Lord, make a musical instrument with this bamboo tree. If you play it, the entire world will become peaceful. This is a treasure from your father and General Kim.” As the dragon instructed, the king ordered his servants to cut down the bamboo tree. As soon as the king came ashore, the floating island and the dragon disappeared. The king made a flute out of the mysterious bamboo. It turned out that the flute held incredible powers. When the flute was played, enemy forces would retreat and diseases were cured. Also, the magic flute would bring rainfall if there was a drought and stop the rains in floods. Ever since then, the bamboo flute was called “Manpasikjeok,” meaning a flute that calms down ten-thousand waves, and became a national treasure. Apparently, ten-thousand waves here refer to all sorts of hardships or storms of life. Some say this legend reflects the Silla Dynasty’s wish to bring together the displaced people from two other kingdoms it had unified and to settle peace and stability in the united Silla kingdom.

  14. So I've activated my delulu mind and have come up with a crazy theory, be prepared everyone...

In the following pictures of KGE from the last shoot day, I'd like to point out the shoes:

    ZCne1jC.png X9aKZ91.png IBNCrvC.png

So I'm thinking, when do girls want to wear the most comfortable clothes and shoes? When they're PREGNANT! She's wearing a beautiful flowy dress and very comfortable house shoes. Obviously it could be just that she didn't want to wear heels throughout the shoot or because JTE doesn't wear heels but JTE doesn't wear crusty house shoes either... who knows. Seems like to me they went back to the past to get the blessings for their baby to come and their married life.

I can just imagine LG telling JTE to hurry up and get ready to visit whoever in the past, and not to put on heels or any of that stuff cause he wants her to be comfortable  Although, JTE always looks very comfy to me, but this is definitely the most out of character and official dress I've seen JTE wear sooo bright colors equals good news.

To me, it seems like she's been crying...either the scene required it or because everyone was saying their final goodbyes. Also, in the group photo where she makes a heart with her hands, she seems very emotional as well. To me, she seems to be the most emotionally invested in this drama. She was also seen getting teary when watching her ep10 crying scene in the BTS. It's rare to see that to be honest. She deeply feels what her character feels. Ugh I'm getting all the feels just remembering her face then.

    2) It may be marketing strategy. Saturday episodes usually rate higher. I have a feeling something major will happen at the end of episode 13 and they want as many viewers as possible.
    3) If they need time to perfect the editing, go for it!

The Earth is flat: Jeong Tae Eul's relationship to sciences and faith

Since the beginning, Jeong Tae Eul is associated to the following expression: the Earth is flat. This expression is quite important as it reveals Jeong Tae Eul’s personality and the way she perceives the world.r. She has gained experience and knowledge through what she has lived.

    [.......]

But the results are the same: both protagonists have changed and become both true believers. They no longer rejects science or faith. They have accepted that both can complement each other, just like Blaise Pascal wanted.

The stupid jacket of doom scene is breaking me.

We've seen the jacket 4 times

    1. Opening sequence, happens simultaneously with LL being interrogated in ROK by a seemingly unawares SJ and JTE in early 2020.  LG is not affected by lightning, has the Third Base Sword, flute is unknown.  LL's shirt is not stained the way it was in the 1994 sequence.  Possible alternate timeline?
    2. Flowers of Doom Dumping - Time traveling LG, possibly also from an alternate timeline?  Clearly in distress and did not get a chance to say "I love you" or give JTE flowers.  Common theories involve JTE dying, or he is cut off from the JTE in his world.  I am convinced his present day JTE is dead in that scene, because it's such a random moment to go to.  If his present day JTE is alive, why not travel to where she is, or travel to moments before she died to tell her?  It also tells me that she's going to die soon, because they've done literally everything together.  Clearly he's shown her time and time again how loved she is by him, but he never actually SAYS it.  I mean, if the LG who visits her is from like, 5 years away, you're telling me that they spent 5 years loving each other the way they do and he never vocalizes the exact words "I love you"?  Her, I can understand.
    3. In his closet in KOC.  The jacket is being worked on and is almost done.  He's talking in riddles, saying that it's for a "glorious" day.  I think it's for his wedding.  He's always been straightforward with her, this is the one of the first times he's spoken in metaphor to her.  JTE being JTE of course, has no idea what he's talking about.  I'm positive it's a wedding suit.  He's proposed to her, and it's still being worked on.  She hasn't said yes.  It makes perfect sense to me that after he proposed to her the second time, he would go back and order a wedding suit to be worked on, because he's positive that she'll say yes.  She's said yes to everything else so far, albeit with a ton of complaining and mild violence.  Two things stand out for me - he's the King, he can't just go to Men's Big and Tall and pick a suit off the rack.  Secondly, she's living for the day.  If she decides THAT DAY that yes, she wants to get married, our boy's got his outfit all ready.  Lord knows JTE will stomp into a wedding venue dressed in joggers and a ponytail, but LG isn't doing that ish.
    4. The scene with Lady Noh.  I think we're going to see the ep 10 ending scene happen again, but this time from LG's perspective. Last time was just JTE's POV, and this time we'll see LG getting ready to go see her, mourning her death, and we can see him walk up, and what he was thinking and if he knew she recognized what was going on.  Then we'll see time stop for however long, and we'll see him leave and go do whatever's next.

THE PROBLEM IS WE DON'T KNOW WHEN OR HOW OR WHY THIS ALL HAPPEN UGH

Thank you for this!  Very insightful and easy to refer too!

I wonder how much of the finale they shot at the beginning.  The production timelines are so confusing to me - they started filming end of October, and the first episode wasn't out until the end of April.  You can actually tell by KGE's hair when the scenes were shot - towards the beginning of the series, sometimes she would have bangs - episode 3, first time freeze with the maple leaves, and sometimes she wouldn't - when she interrogates LG for the first time.  When she finds Maximus in her yard, she has bangs again.  By the time she made it to KOC in episode 5/6, her hair in the front is fully blended with her long hair.

They must have gotten REALLY behind if they had a 6 month head start and are scrambling now with one week to go.

I'm hoping they're more meticulous with detail than CLOY was, lol.  They shot the Swiss scenes and ending ALL in the beginning and then rewrote the script as they went along.  No rings in their happy ending even though they promised never to take them off, Hyun Bin didn't even look like Captain Ri, he just looked like Hyun Bin (no complaints, hot AF), and Seri was crying about how dangerous it was, implying he snuck out of NK, when he just got honorably discharged and joined the orchestra.

You brought up some very good points once again! The whole bangs and no bangs thing did bother me, but I was like whatever maybe she wanted to style her hair different that day and it's a small detail so it was whatever but still. You know, because I barely had to use my brain when watching CLOY, I didnt even notice that the ending didn't make a lot of sense since you explained it to me :joy: It did feel odd that there were no wedding pictures and no rings and they looked SO refreshed, looked like a dream but I guess my mind ignored all of it and was happy they got a happy ending?

Yeah So Ji Sub was shocking, boy had SYJ next to him and picked the interviewer, not that I mind but it still surprises me. I'm happy if he's happy and she seems like a beautiful caring woman! PSH is also dating another fellow actor that was in her friends group. So you really don't know what to expect with celebrities. I bet LMH definitely will have more time to date since he's now finished with his army service and most likely won't be doing too many projects every year. He also has a small but close friends group. Also, he's a man and we do know he wants to eventually get married, so he will definitely be in pursuit if he likes a woman! KGE would like the security that comes with dating a man/fellow actor whos completed his military service and is in the same field as her. She seems to like older/secure looking men going off of her ex (hes an actor, much older than her, and looks very experienced and wise).

Is no one else bothered by JTEs shoes in the group photos/spoiler pictures of the last shoot day? What's up with that? SBS' "The King: Eternal Monarch" topped the drama popularity. "The King" has been on a steady decline in scores since its first broadcast, but its popularity rose slightly (1.10 percent) this week. Many netizens commented that the development of the second half has improved from the beginning. Kim Go-eun and Lee Min-ho ranked first and second in the drama's popularity category.

Thank you for sharing this! I really think the drama picked up after they changed the main director. The first half of the drama, the only problem I had was the editing, it felt choppy, like we were missing scenes, OST was barely present, but as soon as they changed the director, the story picked up beautifully and its been great since! Love that they're FINALLY getting the popularity that they deserve!!!! I hope the ratings reflect this, I'm sure TKEM team would love to see that on their finale!
