As you may know, the production company Studio Dragon has decided not to produce a Dcut Dvd of the drama and the Korean Encounter drama fans are working hard to reach out to the production company by calling, faxing and emailing the various companies involved these last few days to appeal that decision.
Thepixies and I will try to collate a list of international drama fans who would like to help them in their cause. We will send the name list to the Korean side and hopefully that will give their fight for the DVD more weight and significance. We are in the midst of liasing with the Korean fans about our intention.

@stardustvoid according to the D-cut weibo post .. they have stated they will not provide additional scenes or BTS in any DVD they will release in future ( IF ANY) ..so my guess is if there is any DVD at all.. it will just be what was screened by TVN. Nothing else.
@gumtaek I think someone mentioned another cable tv drama ( by bon/ studio dragon ) with similar / less ratings also is getting/ has gotten a D-cut.. so that shouldn't be a good reason. And I'm quite sure that the current demand for Enc D-cut already exceeds what is needed to make it commercially viable.

The DVD fictitious survey was conducted by the Korean FAN cafe that is spearheading this Dcut request so those Korean fans are equally heart-broken and upset about this decision .
They have spent a long time and effort liasing with the production company and relevant personnel .. only to be told that this is an executive decision by Studio Dragon .. no reasons given . Actors and agencies and PD have NO objections to the dcut at all .. so NOT a problem there . Demand is also not an issue .
The PD did say he did not have many additional scenes to add... but that's ok. I think many of us want to hear the PD, writer and actors' commentary because this is such a beautiful drama that I'm sure there are many details they can share with us that we may have not noticed.
I'm sure the BTS ( if any ) can be edited to reduce any worries about further rumours / hate comments.
Korean fans will still appeal, so as international fans who love this drama so much, please let us also unite and email Studio Dragon AND all other associated companies Bon factory , CJENM etc.

Or if anyone can liaise directly with the Korean D-CUT fans at daum cafe and let them know that international fans are also hoping to help appeal.
Our numbers will give more weight to the Korean fans' appeal and hopefully have some clout in persuading the production company to rethink. Please also spread this request to your own countrymen who are fans of the drama to help as well, if you can. Thanks
PS ; is it common to reject a request for D-cut so early ,just a few weeks after the drama has ended ? It has not even be publicly aired in most other countries yet .. so demand will definitely be higher subsequently

I checked the tvn translation on my recorded episodes of Encounter on cable tv..the official translation of what jh says is..
We have a lot of tea at home .. why would i want to drink tea and go home ..
So nothing about controlling himself.. but I remember reading earlier that someone said that in Korean.. the sentences sound similar ?
Any way, I also agree that I don't think they have done ' that 'yet .. Cos of sh's uneasiness over his presence in her bed at home.
Just that the balcony scene at end of 10 .. was extremely sexy and suggestive of more .. but in epi 11, they had reverted to a more chaste version of the balcony kiss.. so my friends and I were a little thrown off..
And now that TVN has made this comment on that video.. it just messes with our thought processes ..
So yeah.. TVN.. he was tired cos he had to control himself and sleep on the sofa . WHAT ELSE WERE YOU INSINUATING ???? or go check with the director yourselves and come back to all of us very concerned viewers with an answer please ..

@jl08 Thanks for sharing about the press conference.... I was a bit sceptical when I first watched the press conference and director was asked about how he felt about pbg and shk and their chemistry.. now I realise the director was being totally honest and , to quote him , " I am not just saying this merely becos they are my actors in my drama '
He also said that all directors have a dream production .. and that he is currently working on his dream production right now .. how lovely
Hi everyone .. finally unlurking.. been following the drama closely and truly loving it .. thanks for all the analyses and discussion .. this drama is not particularly exciting in its storyline but i love the way it has been written and the approach the production is taking . It should be slowly favoured and rewatched ( several times, heh ) to appreciate it, in all its beauty and artistry ... rooting so much for Jinsoo and they MUST have a happy ending or I'm going to stop watching kdrama

Hi there.. I'm not sure which scenes you are referring to in which shk looks blank , but definitely in the comedic and cheerful or crying scenes .. SHK IS nailing it for me.. I cry when she cries and laugh when she's being kooky..
Certain scenes with SJK BEFORE Epi 9. . She does seem to appear expressionless whereas SJK is shooting sparks with his eyes. . However I believe it's because of the characterisation and the development of the plot in those particular scenes. Remember, KMY has been struggling and conflicted about her feelings for YSJ up until her confession .. and I feel SHK is an understated actress .. she doesn't have bIG dramatic expressions. . But acts via small nuances and changes in her expressions and gaze.. those may be misinterpreted as being stony ? Of course I'm no expert. . But that's how I feel about her acting
I see plenty of love and warmth in her interactions and gazes with ysj now in episode 9 and 10.. so yeah.. to me.. the 'blank expressions ' may be just due to what her character is feeling at that point in the plot

I think KMY will accept YSJ going forward but because she will be in danger (kidnapped by Argus) , he will push her away and we will get her chasing after him subsequently
Apparently the production team promises that things will get even MORE interesting soon.. and they even said that episode 1 and 2 is ' boring ' LOL ( read this from weibo)

I feel that shk is a conservative person when it comes to kissing onscreen. Her more passionate onscreen kisses have been with her ex-boyfriends or with co-stars she's more comfortable with eg lbh, hb, kdw
Hence I can understand the worry about whether she can pull off a proper kiss as kmy with ysj . This wine kiss with her lips pursed shut is hopefully the directive of the director and not shk being prudish. But I still got me feels with this kiss.
It was the body proximity and tentative looks between the two.. you could sense ysj' s passion and tenderness and kmy 's confusion. .
But yes, I still wish she could have opened up her lips just to let him in that little bit..

Now my question is - why is SJK such a great 'eye-actor '? Every look and gaze always makes you believe in the emotion of the scene .. how does he do it ? I dont watch a lot of dramas.. but I feel myself sucked in in all his scenes . . Haven't seen any kdrama actor that makes me 'believe ' so wholeheartedly .
It's truly bizarre and amazing ... Are there other actors like that in k drama .. maybe I have too little exposure and many of them are like that. . Haha

A simple but loving gesture from Shi Jin is priceless beyond words. The way he silently puts down his helmet, gets down on one knee and ties her shoe lace...it shows how he treasures her. And MY also lets him do so without any word; she looks at the man who she knows loves her, gets his heart broken by her but also left her without saying goodbye. He didn't even give her a chance to beg him stay; I think deep down she hates him for this and also blames herself for making him do so. She tries to keep a cold face in front of him until her eyes get teary by his concerns
I notice that after SJ finishes with the shoelace, he still doesn't change his position yet. Like the moment is too short and he wants to enjoy it more or tries to find the right things to say but MY is the one who is determined to break it. He hesitates and touches his helmet before finally picking it up.
It is an incredibly well-done scene with so many emotions going through but unspoken; the facial expressions say it all. Both MY and SJ hold back their feeling and picks up themselves well: SJ after MY breaks the moment and MY after SJ passes by. A very mature scene between two people who know they need to be more focused on saving people than their own affairs - two equals. Only a few little words spoken, some eye exchanges but so real and moving.
It is even better than the wine kiss scene for me.

Shoelace scene.- how he puts his helmet down ( and his role as a soldier) and ties her shoe lace as a man who loves her and is willing to kneel before her, just to this one more act of helping her before they go back to their duties .. how he speaks to her slowly and carefully. . I'm sure he had a million things to say .. the regret he felt that they did not end on a happier note and wondering if he would ever see her again.. and how he asked her to take care of herself as he cannot be by her side ( to keep rescuing her from all her mishaps, lol ) . SJK and SHK were wonderful in this scene .. how SHK suppressed her tears when he mentioned Abt leaving without a word as she also felt the same regret and anger towards herself .. got goose flesh just with that scene
The other scene that got me is how they looked ar each other in the crowd. . How shk look changed from searching and then hope and then surprise and love when she saw him.. and sjk staring intently at her all the time. .unblinking as if he refused to miss another moment of looking at her .. the relief that she's alright. .
SJK as usual is fantastic at conveying the emotions but I was more impressed with SHK and her expressions. For me ... She's really really nailed the emotions in those 2 scenes and I could really feel KMY 's pain and longing. .

Did anyone notice that the kiss scene shown in the drama seems to be slightly different from the one in the gummy MV . Check it out. . The kiss scene in the gummy video is awesome .. the way he looks at her tentatively and tenderly

KES scriptwriter-nim really knows how to make women all over the world giddy...
Love love love all the OTP moments, esp the bantering in the room after the rescue and when he covered her with the jacket.. cuteeee. . That will have to last me for some time cos the heavy emo stuff seems to dominate for next few episodes
Mj and ysj interaction is cute too.. when she said she didn't want kmy as sister in law.. and the letter Mj wrote to sdy. .
The exchange between sdy and Mj dad also touched me. . Sdy is such a great guy.. Mj is gutsy but seems occasionally a little childish .. but they are also a wonderful match
Have i said I am totally and absolutely in love with this show ??

What i liked abt epi 6
1. Loved their little chat in the materials/ fabric room over a sandwich.. finally see some spark in hye and loved their banter - FAVE SCENE !
2. Also loved HYE chewing out CS and that other team leader
3. Glad CS stood up for HYE in front of that team leader
4. The ladies wine chat.. felt so sad when MS said that life is short , really hope that there can be a reversal but her departure would go with the theme of breaking up

Really liked what JG said at the crossing and would like to check everyone else's interpretation of his ' let's love while we are breaking up '
Mine - He wants them to try the journey of love or perhaps marriage before that certain end point of breaking up- departure through a relationship ending / divorce/ death of spouse.
I guess the ' break up ' in the title of the drama does not only refer to love relationships, but also to family relationships, marriage or even death. Hence NWBU has a few sub plots depicting not only the main romance but also the other characters' stories with the same theme
