Probably it's just once of her fantasy creative edits? I just see she's doing it different than the others. Coz all the videos we saw were wuxia so hers is xianxia a little spin off. Like writing AU fiction but in a video

Without some demonic influences it's still Wuxia - the edit is nice but it's still Wuxia.  Some of us are petty about genre's...:joy:

7 Costume : Episode 14-17. Highlight - Extending his hand in the rain while standing in the cave. Thereafter you knew what happens next, bickering with MIL Ye Bai Yi...LOL...

This is one of my fav outfits...the construction is amazing especially the sleeves...a lot of workmanship and skill went into the design and assembly

Did you watch AB? I wanted to but then don't think there are complete episodes.

Watched and read the novel ( which is not for the shy- its pretty graphic and I don't mean violence)..LOL. If you google you can find sites with complete episodes.  There is even an unedited one out there.  I just don't remember right now, it's been a few years since I watched.

I think I have read somewhere that ZH surveyed a lot of females expression while preparing for this role? Just curious how did GJ prepared for a flirty WKX role?

I'm sure that GJ prepared adequately, not to mention...in AB he also had flirty moments...and Mai Ji said, the actors had to have,  "a certain life experience"  I'm sure ability to ride a horse, do wire work, wear period costumes was there...as for the other stuff.... there's Life !!:joy:

Ah thanks for the quote! That was what I was trying to search for...But green tea persona? Lol... Is it a direct translation?

Well...you know there's no such thing as direct translation from Mandarin to English..:joy: google gave me green tea...and I just didn't have time to go back and parse through the character for the deeper meaning...so some how it made sense..Female fans don't like " Bland" personalities ( I guess ) but I think the point was made that they know what the primary viewing audience likes...and they feed into that...they know the triggers and the fans react. Which is why I  who is not a member of the target audience will always float along the surface...the triggers don't work for me...I will never question " why he placed his hand there and did you see the finger tap " ( actual quote from a post-:joy:) I will see the guy put his hand on the shoulder of the other guy for emphasis in the dialog- periodt. No hidden meanings or personifications. lol Which is why the guys who watch BL mostly talk to each other...it's a different convo on some levels- we don't go that deep  :wut:

Anyone here did more than 3x rewatch? I've just completed a full 2nd rewatch. Intending to go for the 3rd.

Not the whole thing. I've gone to scenes in particular episodes checking out the acting and the framing and the literature references. For instance, it's clear in some scenes - that if you've never flirted - then you don't know how to flirt...so as an actor it's difficult to step into that emotion and display it with accuracy.  ZZS and GJ  acted from a lived experience.

I think this SHL cast & crew did their homework well because of those preparations we could see a wonderful outcome.

Oh they did...I was impressed with what the producer had to say.

    Quote

First of all, the two male protagonists must be actors between the ages of 27 and 29 and have a certain life experience. Because this is not a history of adolescent growth, you will not be able to perform that kind of role if you let someone who has no life experience play it. Second, these two people must be unmarried. You see how enthusiastic the audience is now, who wants them to have girlfriends, the reality is like this. The characters of the two male protagonists are very full, and the personality contrast of the two male protagonists is very sharp. Women hate green tea very much. With this setting, you can avoid the green tea persona that female users hate the most. We analyzed the user's motivation for watching the drama. First, there must be a popular IP, because most of the dual-male main dramas are adapted from relatively well-known IPs. Its themes must be very novel, in scarce numbers, able to cater to the current female audience, and be able to integrate more thematic elements.

I wish more producers of BL's would realize that lived experience matters in how an actor plays a character..

ne of the funny thing, if you haven't watch the interview yet is GJ in real life is totally different from WKX, according to Ma-jie, when she saw GJ is very quiet and didn't talk much she's like "We're screwed" lol

This interview by the producer was excellent

Not too sure about fans back then as I've only started watching Cdramas beginning of 2018 with Guardian and TMOPB.

But like you said, it is interesting to note that fans guarding the fans. I think I saw in one of the fb group some days back when they got to know ZZH was hurt in the incident. A group of them wanted to be the Guardian or Protector Unit... This is truly encouraging but how they are going to execute it is a different matter altogether. Pray that they will succeed.

I go back to 2014....LOL. so yeah I've watched the progression. Protector Unit ? Interesting.  They should contact ARMY they are on TWT and ask...it seems as though it's the " only fans " that kick up the most dust !!! LOL

Absolutely my fav image...it takes confidence to pull this off...for sure he knows who he is...LOL

That is the price of being an actor though, that just means that you are in demand, of course your private life still has to be respected but Asian (korea, japan, china mostly in this context) entertainment fans seems don't have that kind of notion.

True, however I think the kinda of fans has changed.  5-6 years ago you didn't see this kinda of behavior. There was this element of respect and other fans would check those that were out of line and the actors would also speak out.  Times have changed for sure. The BL Fantasy World has taken on a life of its own...and there are no rules.

And imho, private plane are too much it might just cause more unnecessary publicity for him.

Most of the unruly ones are sasaeng fans I think, the ones are over the top, I just hope they use more common sense, all those fans are bordering harassment towards ZZH. He just have to endure for a few months, this kind of things will die down eventually, hopefully anyway.

Private planes have private airports which means more security because more than just high profile actors use private transportation and  travel information cannot be sold. It was interesting to watch Army fans with BTS in LA...they created a security barrier to give the guys space to walk in the airport. So it was Fans checking those fans who got out of line...and that group is truly international. It was only a matter to time before Netflix adjusted the subs- if for nothing, they really haven't had a viewer population that has a high rewatch factor like woh. New viewers have no idea that the subs are off. LOL

Well to achieve fame has its consequences....But probably in the west it's not that bad? I mean there are stalkers but not a horde of them arriving at the hotel to greet you that kind...Guess he and GJ will have to adapt to it for now

Well there are things like private planes here. Security guards..you could get arrested  or have your name splashed across the front page of a newspaper.Yes with fame comes some losses..but the right to your private life should not be violated. I am a fan..and I don't really care what he wears at home, who he talks to on the phone, what he eats for dinner, or who he dates..stuff like that is his business. I gain nothing by knowing. I am interested in up coming events, series, movies, etc..There was a quote from this morning...which I can't find now where he warned fans about their behavior. He's a smart man and when he gets tired of all of this - he'll say something. You see when you gain something you never had...you don't fear loosing it because you do remember I how survived in the past. Fan should support what makes him happy -
