School 2017 Coming To KBS – Who Will Be The New Students?
SpoilerSchool 2017 already received a greenlight from KBS. The teen-centric drama, a follow-up to Who Are You: School 2015, is reportedly coming out next summer.
A source from KBS confirmed Chief producer Lee Geon Joon and producing director Park Jin Seok will supervise production of School 2017. Rookie writers will take charge of the script, Soompi further notes.
The upcoming drama will serve as the seventh installment in the series. Its predecessor Who Are You: School 2015 starred Kim So Hyun, BtoB’s Yook Sung Jae, and Nam Joo Hyuk.
Who are You was the follow-up to School 2013, which was also broadcasted in Thailand and Japan. The fifth installment brought together Lee Jong Suk and Kim Woo Bin. They served as the lead stars alongside Jang Nara and Choi Daniel.
In other news, So Hyun and Sung Jae are set to appear in tvN’s new drama Goblin, which stars Train to Busan lead actor Gong Yoo. Following their stint in the KBS series, the two young have been receiving several movie and TV projects.
The big question is, who will be starring in School 2017? KBS has not revealed who will complete the lineup of the new high school students, but many fans speculate Love in the Moonlight’s Park Bo Gum will be included.
It is also likely that 5urprise member Seo Kang-joon will be casted. He once expressed his interest to become part of the drama.
School tackles real-life high school issues, such as bullying, teacher-student relations and the things happening in the confines of the school; in the Seungri High School.
Several Hallyu stars today like Ha Ji Won, Sense8’s Bae Doo Na and Doctors’ Kim Rae Won got their start in the series. Even Gong Yoo was an alum, as he starred in School 4 in 2001.

First still cuts of the boys of Entourage

The first stills from tvN’s Entourage are out, and for a remake of an HBO series that depicts the cutthroat entertainment industry where egos and emotions run high, our first glimpse is decidedly sunlit and understated. I was totally expecting to see the talent agent played by Jo Jin-woong (Signal) holler into his phone or chuck his dissatisfying lunch across the room. Or at his assistant.
But perhaps they’re saving the good stuff for when the show premieres. The fully preproduced remake is about a movie star and his entourage consisting of his close circle of childhood buddies and his agent, navigating the frequently vapid, occasionally glamorous world of showbiz.

3 Korean Remakes Of Popular American Shows To Look Forward To
For a time, K-drama adaptations of Japanese dramas were all the rage, with remakes everywhere, such as “Boys Over Flowers,” “City Hunter,” “Goong,” “Flower Boy Next Door,” “Tomorrow Cantabile,” “Liar Game,” and many more.
However, it seems American shows have taken over the scene, especially after the success of tvN’s “The Good Wife,” which was the first American show remade in Korea.
TvN has been at the forefront of the new movement, aided by the fact that, as a cable channel, there are fewer broadcast restrictions, which allows the K-drama to maintain a more similar tone to the original work than is allowed by the big three, SBS, MBC, or KBS.
Here are three upcoming remakes of American shows to look forward to:
Entourage
“Entourage” is an eight-season HBO show that ran from 2004 to 2011, showing the everyday lives of Hollywood stars. Filming for tvN’s remake of “Entourage” began in June, and the production team is aiming for a complete wrap before the show hits the air this year on November 4.
The main cast (photo above) includes Seo Kang Joon, Park Jung Min, Lee Kwang Soo, and Lee Dong Hwi, playing four friends since childhood, and their management agency CEO, portrayed by Jo Jin Woong.

10 Romantic K-Drama Rain Scenes
SpoilerWhat’s a K-drama without a rain scene? As every fan knows, there’s something about rainy weather that can add to the emotional intensity of any scene. Plus, it’s easy to get lost in the beauty of it. These scenes often involve the two main leads frolicking or flirting in the midst of a rainstorm while gazing lovingly into each other’s eyes. Sigh. Isn’t it just so romantic?
6. Cheese In The TrapAlthough not a romantic rain scene, this is definitely a memorable one! In this particular scene, Baek In Ho (Seo Kang Joon) totally breaks my heart. You can really feel the sadness of his unfulfilled dream as he watches the TV screen. The rain can’t even mask the tears he sheds. It’s like the rain storm is embodying how he feels inside. Not to mention the sad piano music in the background – ughhh, the sadness.

tvN10 Awards Nominees And Voting System Announced
In celebration of its 10th anniversary on October 9, tvN will host tvN10 Awards at KINTEX.
tvN has recently announced the nominations for various awards on its official website which include award categories like “tvN10 Best TV Drama,” “tvN10 Best Variety Show,” “tvN10 Best Actor/Actress,” “tvN10 Best Actor/Actress in a Variety Show,” “tvN10 Best Kiss” and “tvN10 Best Chemistry.”
Viewers can vote online and see all of the nominees here.
The nominations were generated from the results of polls hosted by tvN earlier, during which audiences selected their favourite shows and actors/actresses from tvN programs produced since the channel’s inception (October 2006) until June 2016. Fans will be able to vote on tvN’s official site from now until September 30.
In the “tvN10 Best TV Drama” category, the list of nomination includes 35 dramas, among them are popular dramas like “Signal,” the “Reply” series, “Incomplete Life” (also known as “Misaeng”), and more.
In the “tvN10 Best Variety Show” category, the list of nomination includes 30 shows, among them are the “Friends Over Flower” series, “Three Meals A Day” series, and more.
In the “tvN10 Best Actor/Actress” category, the list of nomination includes 50 actors and actress. Some of the nominees are Park Bo Gum, Seo Hyun Jin, Yoon Doo Joon, Sung Dong Il, and Jo Jin Woong. Furthermore, the “tvN10 Best Actor/Actress in a Variety Show” category includes 45 actors and actresses.
It is expected that the most sought-after categories will be “tvN10 Best Kiss” and “tvN10 Best Chemistry” which has nominations for Eric Mun and Seo Hyun Jin, Park Bo Gum and Hyeri, Jo Jung Suk and Park Bo Young, and puppy Sanchae and kitten Byul from “Three Meals a Day.”
tvN10 Awards will be held on October 9.
