Before we move on, I just want to appreciate their first kiss again: Sorry it's night time at my place so can't find more proper lighting for the painting. Anyway, an art director and art curator have really brought out the inspiration in me. Gosh, I have never fangirled a couple so hard that I want to paint them like this. I hope they have many more amazing moments in the next ep.

My First Real Fangirl Experience Since we all don't have BTS today, I thought I'd share with all my fangirl buddies here what happened to me last night as yall were going wild watching epi 10. Before I delve into this, abit of background for context - I am in Seoul for awhile for work (not a Korean), and I got super hooked onto this drama so bad during my time here! I never created soompi account before or even bother being active in forums, much less have the chance to visit locations since I am not from Seoul.... I only binge watch some dramas (and even then, haven't been watching too many unless they get super hyped up and I see that in social media). I am a little too old for this, I always tell myself (but seeing the other unnies here I won't speak further LOL because I will get kicked when I say I am in my late 20s HAHA). I am also in a very serious corporate job where my colleagues will fall over if they know what I have been doing... My love for this drama (and KJW) has become so.. I don't know.. fangirl-like? It is quite a scary and incredulous feeling I must say..and being in Seoul when this is happening is just too surreal, seeing all the locations in reality I think is the magic that is pushing me to convert to fangirl-ism!! ANYWAY. I am hoping ya'll are in our little virtual chatroom listening now like SJ and other SiNaGil fans because.. I am hoping this will be worth the read and you will be squee-ing with me as I regale my story.....you may play the HPL theme songs for effect lol Based on my previous postings, you'll see that I spent my days off visiting locations of these dramas.. Last night, getting off work at about 9pm, I was in the area of Deok Mi's house (the location is available on this website www.koreandramaland.com). It would have been too late to run back home to catch it direct on TVN (and add to the ratings lol) so I decided to take a walk up there just to see how it looked like...and I BUMPED INTO THEM SHOOTING! (now this is where things get REALLY surreal). I was watching them set-up, when I saw this man walking slowly but purposefully out of a black van a few cars down from me to the house.. he was in sweats / jogger pants..and as he walked closer.. I realized it was our Lion! He looked quite serious and "cool" (with a cig in his hand lol SIDEBAR he does smoke quite abit (at least 3-4 diff sticks as I observed in the four hours I was there) - no judgment but sigh it really is very unhealthy oppa you should stop we want you around forever END SIDEBAR).. as he passed (he was walking really slowly and no more than 5m from me), I just yelped.."Annyeong Oppa" *cue waving like a crazy little child* and... he did the EXACT SAME THING SI AN DID WHEN DEOK MI WENT TO HIS HOUSE FOR THE FIRST TIME.. that whole half bow half nod thing... and "Annyeong-hasaeyo-ed" me back with a smile! OH THAT VOICE. died. Literally. have not ever been starstruck before. Until that moment. There weren't any other fans around (it is in quite a secluded area so you have to really make a "pilgrimage" to get there) so it really felt like.. I don't know.. just.. wow. My only regret is that I did not have the sense to ask him for a selfie, which I am so sure he would have obliged to do so given there really is no one else there at the time, not even his manager / stylist... AHHHH, I really felt at the time.. this is how Deok Mi feels, when Si An catches her eye, and when he smiles at her.... *swoons*. He then went upstairs to the balcony.. and hung out with some of the PD team, whilst facing me.. ahh sigh at that moment that must be how Romeo felt when staring up at his Juliet SIGH....he did look at me a number of times (trust me there is a reason for this LOL NOT DELULU. I hurt myself so I had a cast on my foot... SO IMAGINE HOW SILLY I MUST HAVE LOOKED. THIS CRAZY GIRL WITH A HALF LIMP STANDING THERE BEING QUITE TIMID AND NOT DOING ANYTHING) So embarrassing but also quite funny I think.......I laugh incredulously at myself at how nonsense I am being... HONESTLY. Now comes the conflicting part, I felt happy to be there, but at the same time, I also felt like I was kind of intruding into his arty space, so I decided to wait patiently till the shooting ended with the hopes of getting his autograph / photo together...and just.. really.. made myself scarce and made sure not to take any photos of the shooting (sorry guys - I just somehow felt that was abit disrespectful IDK why even though I love all the fancam stuff. The PD team actually say its not allowed but I think people don't really listen). I also managed to see PMY unnie... she was a lot "brighter" than him.. there was one point where she was hanging on the balcony.. and I was on the ground..it was a break.. and I just stated waving at her to say hello, and she waved back, and I don't know what came over me, I just shouted upwards "Annyeong Unnie, nomu yeppo-yo.. hwaiting!" LOL, and she waved backed and laughed and also said Annyeong! There were also a couple of NGs where he burst out laughing.. his deep throaty laugh.. and also times where he had to clear his throat because it was cold outside.. he would go all *aaahhgemmm ahh ahh ahh* *gulps water*. MAN GUYS SERIOUSLY HEARING HIS VOICE IN REALITY IS LIKE A MILLION TIMES BETTER THAN WHAT YOU HEAR ON SCREEN. (sorry obviously my bias is totally KJW and not PMY, but for the PMY fans here yes she is very pretty and sweet IRL as well and every bit as sunny as the Deok Mi you see - even though it was cold AF). and also, for any MinJae shippers here (me included hoho), let me tell you once and for all. their interactions are not fake. Of course it isn't at the level where it is obvious to anyone looking that they are in love (lol of course not right), but she IS very comfortable with him - and him with her. A number of times he patted her on the small of her back, and moved fringe out of her eyes when there was no shooting <3 <3 <3.. not even BTS guys... just in general waiting for the next scene...of course it can be very platonic as well, and maybe they were practicing let me just cover myself.. any anti KJW/PMY shippers please don't jump on me... Anyway, so there I am, just this one single fan, lucky as anything, having them to myself for the first 2 hours (the shoot lasted 4 hours I almost died it was so cold lol).. when suddenly 6-7 other girls show up (literally out of nowhere). From what I could understand, they had paid (??) someone for information (almost USD200) for the location info. There was also a man (think he is the guy that leaked the information - seemed abit sleazy to me as he came up to me to ask how I knew, I suppose because I wasn't part of his posse).. and the moment the PD team saw this group of girls plus man, the mood changes somewhat.. I think they don't appreciate it when people sell information about the locations (and by extension, the fans who buy them). The PD team wasn't hostile, but it became clear that I wouldn't be able to finish what I missed out on doing (i.e. selfie / signature - actually I don't even know where / what he would sign given I really wasn't prepared LOL).. because the mood just shifted and they became really protective of both PMY / KJW. T_T at that point I was so heartbroken.. I had waited there for almost 2 hours already and I was so sure I'd be able to get that darn pic I missed out on.. if only that guy didn't sell the info... sigh.....or if I had the SENSE to ask and not be starstruck like a bleeding teenager when he first passed me (my work requires me to be quite assertive and strong and vocal so I am really not usually so timid WTH IS WRONG WITH ME AHHHHH)... In the end, after the shooting ended, they brought the cars right up front, and the PD team sort of blocked the girls (and me huhu) off and we did not manage to get any autographs or any photos at all... T_T. The only saving grace was that before KJW got into his car, he said thank you for the support and for staying out so long in the cold (lol pardon my delulu-ness but I'd like to think he meant it for me most of all because he saw me pre shoot with my limping foot all the way till the end LOL). Felt so empty after that.. and kind of upset at the man that sold the information - I mean I get it from the PD team perspective, having fans gawp around makes it difficult for actors to concentrate, not to mention having to move lighting around and ensuring the fans don't inadvertently appear in the background.. So if anyone reading here is from Seoul and is even thinking of buying the information, I really don't think its worth it because the PD teams know.. its also pretty obvious (albeit ironic since this is a show glorifying extreme fans) that there is a "bad" impression of the extreme type of fan who would pay that kind of money just for a location name. It seems like even if they have any suspicion, the mood changes and they get protective..Say you do happen to bump into the location (and I thank my lucky stars that I did) best outcome for yourself is keeping yourself scarce (limit videos) and stay out of the way as much as possible - be patient to wait till end of shooting before trying to get an autograph / pic). Sorry for the long post. Just ranting out my little story here since I can't really tell anyone here in Seoul very much given my secret life as a new fan girl. I am very lucky though, because I do have my own Ryan Gold in my BF who was super supportive of me when I kept on telling him I was being silly waiting in the cold, with my fractured foot, for nonsensically waiting for some dude's signature and photo (I mean let's be real he really is just another human being lol whats the big deal riiightt.....). He also does the whole forehead nose lips kiss things.. Don't even know why I am sharing all this here HAHA but I guess I feel this is a very amazing place where someone can just fangirl like crazy.. and for a new "fangirl" like me, I really managed to experience what being a real fangirl is like (and also a little bit of the bad and negative side of it of extreme fandom-ness like Sindy lol).. I am still feeling abit winded from my experience yesterday.. though it might also be because they wrapped at 1am and I still went home and watched the subbed epi 9 plus the raw epi 10... and it was almost 4am before I slept and I have work today at 9am (dead right now). Hope you guys enjoyed my story above.. and this at least helps a little with the EMPTY VOID TVN LEFT US WITH WHEN THEY DID NOT RELEASE BTS TODAY T__________________________________T.

I wasn't sure I would be posting here again but my love for the last episode and our JinSoo couple brought me back to say a few words. I pretty much lost it at Jin Hyuk's expression when he opened his door to find Soo Hyun standing outside. The overwhelming sense of joy, relief and love in that look was everything! It gave me such feels and brought me to tears. We all knew and I'm pretty sure they had a tacit understanding that she loved him back but in this episode she actually said the words out loud at a moment when he really needed to hear them and then she showed him just how deep that love was when she turned up at his home, reinforcing the message that she chooses him and he is what she values more than anything in the world. Jin Hyuk had been dropping hints all along that he was all in on this relationship but with this one gesture Soo Hyun showed that she is just as committed and it was wonderfully sweet how he reaffirmed it yet again with what he said. This couple uses their words and also backs them up with actions. They are absolutely end game! JinSoo may just have become my favorite Kdrama couple ever. Everything from their fateful meet cute to the lovely and natural progression of their relationship has been sublime. And for all the heart fluttering romantic moments, this is a relationship that is well grounded and solid because it is balanced and based on a foundation of mutual attraction, respect, consideration, understanding and friendship. This is the type of relationship that is built to last in both the drama world and the real world. This is a couple that actually communicates with one another and when facing hardship, each would rather suffer on their own than see the other one suffer. They just need to be better at recognizing that they are at their strongest when they are a united front. This is what a healthy and loving, adult relationship looks like. Take a good look JWS! I'm anxiously awaiting the next ep for the family dinner. I think/hope it would go well. The setup with JM blabbing about the event for the death anniversary of SH's ex FIL and her showing up to dinner at their house instead should speak volumes to them about her feelings and level of commitment to their son. Daddy Kim has already shown that he is willing to give JinSoo a chance by encouraging JH to invite SH over for dinner and having him on board should help convince Mommy Kim. She is a modest and simple lady but she is also kindhearted. She doesn't know SH and probably worries that because she is rich, she is "fancy" and accustomed to a certain lifestyle. And SH is anything but fancy or snobby despite her status. She happily rode in Dae Chan's truck and some of the places that SH and JH have gone to are far from high class (Subway!) and she has enjoyed them. Once Mommy Kim sees how down to earth she is, it should hopefully put her at ease. She is the type of mom SH wished for and never had so how sweet would it be for the two of them to bond. I don't know what the deal is with JWS at this point. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt that there are actually altruistic intentions behind his actions but everything he does just comes across as self serving and deluded. He definitely doesn't have a clue about what love is and honestly dude needs to learn how to love himself before he can love anyone else. A good place to start would be by getting out from under Mommy's thumb because she is toxic. SHK and PBG are both killing it with such exquisitely compelling, multifaceted and emotionally resonant performances. They have truly brought SH and JH to life in the most beautiful way. Anyone who wants a master class in acting with your eyes needs to watch these two. How can there only be 4 more episodes? Never have I wished more for a drama to be longer and I hate long dramas. Surely there will be more angst but SH and JH better be getting a happily ever after or I swear I will fly over to Korea to track down the production team to demand a reshoot!

@ducan I just finished this drawing and intended to post it, and then I saw your pic above. I guess we are mutual then, this may be our favorite scene from ep 12? So just when we lost count of their kisses, they gave us this flour kiss that just can't get any better.

We each need a Lion Gold for our own, don't we? Umm, Soompi kind of compressed my pic so it loses colors and details. And some people asked me for all my fanart, so I uploaded them all in high-quality to my blog here: https://haartism.wordpress.com/2019/05/08/to-you/

Translation from CN subtitles: Q: Which past drama/film of your co-star left the strongest impression? KJW: What's Wrong with Secretary Kim PMY: For me it's Mo Tae Gu. [Everyone laughs] PMY: If you're talking about strongest impression, wouldn't it be this one? Sometimes when we are filming, and he's supposed to be staring/glaring at someone, Park Jin Joo and I suddenly think he's turned into Mo Tae Gu. Sorry, Oppa. You're supposed to have a ro-co image now. [note: ro-co is short for romantic comedy aka rom-com] KJW: It's okay. KJW: I don't have experience doing this genre. Think you need to have a good range of expressions to act in this genre. Minyoung-ssi is very good at this. When acting with Deok Mi, she shows a wide range of different emotions and expressions. It's awkward between our characters at the beginning of the drama. We are not so close yet, so there's a need to maintain a distance. [note: think he said "tension" in english in the original dialogue, but I'm translating the exact chinese subtitle.] KJW: This is very tough. When you watch her display so many expressions in just one scene, it's hard to hold it in. PMY: Yeah, Oppa is always laughing out loud when he's supposed to be glaring at me. KJW: Yes, it's tough. I think I've learnt a lot. Learnt about the lingo used by the fans. At first, I didn't understand the lingo mentioned in the script, so I went to do research to understand the lingo. It's quite interesting. We have been filming happily. Q: Did you all idolise any stars before? PMY: I liked H.O.T. when I was young. I'm feeling shy/embarassed. Saranghae H.O.T.! KJW: I liked/followed sports. I was also a big fan of Deux. [Note: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deux_(band)] PMY: (sings a line from a Deux song?) KJW: Deux had a big influence on me. Q: Please say something to your fans in Taiwan. PMY: I received a lot of love for Secretary Kim. I also went to Taiwan twice to meet fans, so I feel a sense of closeness. KJW: Me too, I know that Voice and The Guest was well-received in Taiwan. I haven't visited Taiwan like Minyoung-ssi. Hope to continue receiving support now. PMY: Thank you (in english)! Xie Xie (thank you in chinese)! KJW: Xie Xie! See post below for translation of other parts of the same interview.

I think that I found their room , they will definitely have to explain the balcony kiss if my guess is correct. CSH’s room in first episode She is back in the same room in episode 10 It’s the Habana Suite at Hotel Saratoga in Havana, they probably shifted the furniture around for aesthetic purposes. But the stupid continuous and curve on CSH’s balcony kept throwing me off because KJH and CSH were making out on an individual balcony. A quick search of google shows that the only floor which has separate balconies in that hotel is the 3rd floor ( the hotel claims to have 6 floors on their website, if the counting throws you off because of how floors are counted in your country then just go from the penthouse to the bottom and subtract 3 floors). The Habana suites are situated on the 1st floor and 3rd floor, given how CSH’s balcony is too elevated to be the first floor so it’s certain that CSH is on the 3rd floor. Looked on the hotel website and realized that KJH is probably staying in the room adjacent to her suite, which would explain why his balcony is individual and she has a continuous and curvy balcony. The red arrow indicating his room and the blue arrow indicating her room. So did they end up in his room and how did they end up on his balcony, please watch episode 11. Judging me? I don’t care, I found their room.

Enjoy reading everyone's thoughts... I will elaborate on why the ending is good for me... 1. It did not end with some drone zoomed out kiss in the Cuban Garden with sweeping romantic music at the end with a sunset backdrop. The plot already made a big deal about it was Samuel's garden for his beloved wife that he was picky not to be touched. The playground was their garden. Very true to the humble character of JH and his ordinariness despite extraordinariness. (That ending would have been classically great as well but feels rather Kdrama 2000s?) 2. It ends with a proposal on public stairs, not a white wedding down church/donghua hotel hall aisle. Less is more. Perfectly understated. No cheesy knee bend, candles lit with flower petals every where etc.. Although I can certainly appreciate a Nottinghill ending scene, with pregnant SH napping head resting on the lap of her husband reading a book in the park, but that would be rip off. Besides, the drama is called 'Boyfriend'. 3. Time jump. So it took him a whole year of 'proper dating' before asking her to marry... Or is it the nth time, judging by their reactions? (Kind of open to interpretation. The way they played it, she wasn't even surprised. It could have been a private joke the audience was not privy of? ) 4. Side Characters. Like the realistic and open ending for all the side Characters. Justice is served. The mothers may have been the biggest barriers, but the 2 mothers changed the most because of the love of their daughters/sons. The unrequited love story for the side characters remains delightfully open ended... 5. A love poem about love conquers all? Examination of love. How people use it, show it, abuse it, control it, unleash it. Ultimately how selfless love triumph and break through social conventions, class barriers, eventually conquers all. Those chose kindness and selflessness leads to a good ending. You choose love, or does love choose you? The villain chairwoman is the only one who did not choose to love selflessly (love that actress) and she paid the dearest price of all from beginning to end. Love is the theme motivate and permeate between all the decisions and emotions. Romantic, Friendship, Parents/Child, Siblings, Colleagues, Loyalty, Ex/Almost love etc.. Love is kind, Love is patience, Love also redeems, Love corrupts. The only one who remains self- absorbed, abuses is the Group Chairwoman, whose fate is certainly doomed since their 'encounter' in Cuba a year ago. If she had listened to her son, she wouldn't have ended up where she did in the end. Had the couple not met, she is likely to be still happily corrupt and rule the business world, and very likely to continues to emotionally abuse the ex-in laws and her own child. Their encounter really affects their social circle/family in a big way.

I agree with you all, this drama has ruined me for all others. The problem with me is that I have started comparing all male leads to Ryan and I'm so dissatisfied. 1. Wrist grab and dragging the female lead against her will is not romantic, Ryan will never do that. He holds her hands so tenderly. 2. Surprise kiss without acknowledgement of interest? Dude no - look at Ryan, the only time he kissed her was after explicit declarations of love and mutual understanding and consent. The thumb kiss? Amazing save there. He didn't just say, I think she likes me and then proceed. He waited for her to come out and tell him. He's great. 3. Broody male lead because of tragic past who randomly shouts at the female lead? No please, she is not your punching bag, be considerate like Ryan, he apologized for ruining the mood and being grumpy even if he knew DM didn't mind. My woke hero knows she is not at fault for his family issues 4. Lack of apologies for any transgressions or shouting? My lion doesn't lead that life. 5. Treating your girlfriend/wife as someone who needs to be protected and not told stuff, more like a child than a life partner? Heck no, Ryan will tell her everything because she's supposed to know if as a long term romantic partner. 6. Overruling decisions of female lead? No, man, Ryan might have more experience but he respects DM's authority like when she recommended Cindy should handle merchandising (with an ulterior motive yes, but her hunch as a team leader/superior was on point) 7. Causing embarrassment to female lead for being wrong or making mistakes in public? Lion doesn't even know what that means. I remember the staff recalling that DM was once fired but they didn't know the reason, and then during the team dinner guessed it was because DM was too forward with her desires. Clearly, Ryan never publicly humiliated/embarassed her but I can guarantee that all other leads would have screamed all details in public view. Infact, he actively saves her from being outed as SNG. 8. Being grumpy or screaming at female lead for being caught with "another guy" and forbidding her to "smile/laugh/meet" another guy? Lol, lion ain't insecure. He was annoyed, listened to her, and also finally told her that she should not deal with EG rashly because he's important to her and he trusts that she won't be swayed. 9. Violation of privacy? Ryan can never do that. He didn't misuse Latte. His conversations with her weren't to ask for information. He told her his issues and waited for response, but didn't probe if there was someone she liked or anything. Others would have. 10. "We cannot fight in the streets. We are educated people." Enough said. So whenever I switch to any other drama, it just gets me mad and I just go gaga over how amazing Ryan Gold is once again. Same for DM, to be honest, but really, Ryan just wiped the floor with any kdrama lead I have seen so far.

Hi everyone! Just another lurker outing herself... *raises hand sheepishly* I’ve enjoyed all of your thoughtful and fun posts! I just want to apologize beforehand for this long post... It has been a long while since I’ve fangirl’d over a drama... the last one was probably Goblin, which was over 2 years ago, mainly because Gong Yoo is my fav. And I don’t watch too many romcoms all the way through anymore. But this drama has me obsessed! As mentioned by all of you, it’s largely due to the undeniable chemistry of the OTP and the way their characters have been written. They are mature, flawed, quirky, and both so real yet unreal enough to squeal over. The narrative definitely still uses traditional tropes (childhood connection and trauma, frustrating second leads, etc) and I could see the ShiAn/Ryan connection from a mile away (could still be wrong lol), but because I’m head over heals for Ryan and DeokMi (both individually and even more as a couple), it’s so damn delightful and I’m absolutely all in with whatever this couple will go through together. I’m okay with tropes as long as they’re able to keep it fresh, and this drama manages to do that thanks to the two of them. I think I could go on and on about why I love KJW and PMY here as Ryan and DeokMi but I’m sure I’d just be echoing all that has been said about them already. I have to say, I didn’t think episode 10 could be topped (before ep 10, I loved 5) but I absolutely loved episode 11. I’m a Korean speaker so I was able to see it raw. They just seem like a real couple who seem to be getting to know each other and falling in love... it reminds me of me and my husband. Obviously very different circumstances, but even details like that short kiss in ep 10 after Ryan carries DM off of the table after their huge make out session... that was such an organic and realistic touch. The conversations, the banter, the trolling, the tension, the physical aspect all seem very realistic... so rare, for me at least, to see it portrayed so genuinely and with such earnestness these days in a romcom! But back to episode 11, I love love loved, their fight scene/makeup scene at Ryan’s house. It felt so organic and their willingness to communicate and support one another continues to make me so happy. I also loved that they made DM the one to do a wrist grab and a back hug in this episode... flipped the usual tropes . However, I think the thing I loved the most was the way episode 11 started and ended. It started (or ended last episode) with Ryan saying, “It’s okay... Shi Na Gil.” And it ended with DeokMi saying, “It’s okay... you can cry.” It was very touching. And a true sign of a deepening relationship when you can see that person’s deepest darkest secret and tell them it’s okay... that you see them and you accept them. That you don’t have to be embarrassed (for DM) and that you don’t have to suffer alone (for Ryan). I loved the way Ryan accepted DM’s fangirling, and without much judgement, and I think part of it is because he’s an artist himself and he sees her passion as something that is almost inspiring... in the same way he respects her parents’ obsessions as well. And with DM... although Ryan hasn’t told her in detail about the triggering paintings and his trauma other than from their conversation at the museum in episode 3 and the hand holding bit, she doesn’t push him to share. She senses how he’s feeling and reacts in such a reassuring way, such as the hand hold when they find the painting, and the hug at the end. And that last scene... it was very beautiful. I work with emotionally disturbed youth who tend to have trauma, and it’s heartbreaking. Those feelings of abandonment, of not feeling wanted or loved... that pain runs so deep. So the fact that DM hugged him without asking questions and provided a shoulder to cry on, was the most loving thing that she could have done for him. It was touching and moved me to tears and it will definitely be one of the most memorable scenes for me. Some observations and things to look forward to... – From ep 11, during Ryan’s dream, we were able to hear the voice of the lady who abandoned him and even though it was distorted, it sounded like DM’s mom to me... I definitely don’t think Ryan and DM are related, but I do think there’s some painful connection. Hopefully they handle this storyline well... fingers crossed. – From ep 12 preview, it looks like DaIn has one last thing up her sleeve and I’m going to guess that she’s going to try and find Lee Sol as a last attempt to gain Ryan’s attention. – I also feel like ShiAn may be looking for his brother, which could definitely be Ryan. Hope to see more scenes of them together. – I actually like and appreciate where SJ and her husband’s storyline is going due to their honest conversation in ep 11 because I was not as interested before. I hope that they will be able to work it out. – I also like what they’re doing with Sindy/HyoJin! My personal thought is that I hope Sindy ends up working with DM to run the fanpage and learn as a mentee to be a healthy fan and not a stalker. – I also really hope to see Ryan and DM create art together. I hope he will be inspired by her and that she could play a part in helping him overcome his inability to paint. Also a kiss somewhere in there? Again, I apologize for the extra long post! Thanks to those who read this all the way through!

Watching the subs and the flirting is off charts. JUST GET A HOUSE WITH A COUPLE OF KIDS YOU TWO! 1. Ryan asks if they are really dating. Deok mi says: in Korea, if you don't go out with the person you kiss, you go to jail. 2. The way PMY says Ryan is so sensual, I'm pretty sure she'll use it to seduce the lion even when they are married with several kids lol 3. Also the way DM is like "you can badmouth me all you want, but not my lion jerk - I mean Director Gold" haha We stan SDM in this house. 4. Da Out needs to learn her manners: not only did she lie, she was adamant saying that "I didn't lie" in front of DM. Act as pathetic as you want, but DON'T BE SO BRAZEN! I want the second leads to have a storyline - they are perfect for each other. We have a saying back in my country: "two wicked people should get together, because instead of two houses sinking, only one will. i.e. दो घर डूबता, इससे अच्छा एक ही डूबे" - can it happen off screen though? I don't want to dedicate more than 60 seconds of camera footage to either of them in the remaining 6 episodes. 5. The camaraderie between DM and Cindy is funny - they are both against Cho DI. I am so glad haha. 6. The way they all intimidated Yoo Suk ssi into leaving work is hilarious. I love this tag team in the office so much! 7. "I like the night view. It's pretty. And the woman next to me..." DM gets ready for a compliment... "has no driving license". RG IS FUNNY AF! I absolutely adore him. 8. "I asked you to transfer, not to sell out your own wife!" I love SJ! Seriously though, I have seen it happen a lot of times in RL too. Giving gifts with an ulterior motive is a really hurtful form of betrayal. The receiver assumes it is because of thoughtfulness and love...and then find out it was in exchange of an apology contract they never agreed to... it hurts! Kudos to ramping up the laughs factor with "I am going to become a widow today". 9. THE WRIST KISS. holymolyrockapoly I am swooning! It was so smooth - so cute - I really fell in love with it! It was amazing! The tenderness, the impulse....the sweetness... I just need a RG desperately. I specially loved how DM reciprocated with a peck. It was so sweet. 10. Kudos to the direction and the writing. I am SO GLAD to see that DM clarified EG's position in her life - as a twin brother, as a family, with RG the day before the grand reveal. It really makes things so much smoother for the couple - no misunderstandings, nothing like "is she cheating?" - RG & DM are so much into each other that it is a delight, and with proper communication - I AM SHIPPING TWO ADULTS! He explained the situation to her, and she told him right back - asked if he was doubting her relationship with EG, and he said no and that EG might change. It is so wonderful how they are subverting ALL THE TROPES! This episode is sweet, amazing, and something I am going to watch with my RG the day I find him/her (if I ever do!). RG was able to clarify his position with Da Out too. COMMUNICATION! TRUST! I love you RYAN GOLD! 11. Two small things: it is so cute when DM is putting some of her stuff with RG in places where she used to store her Si An artifacts. It is telling us how she is slowly filling the places with her own relationship instead of fangirling over Si An. I think the writer needs to be given an award on how well they understand fangirling...and the position it holds in a fangirl's life. They have my feelings spot on. Secondly, the fact that our couple keeps their hands in their pockets at every opportunity might either be connected to their past or they just know how to act sexy haha 12. I love the siblings interaction...it makes me miss my brother so much! Don't ruin it EG! Also, the fact that DM didn't know EG knew he was abandoned...it just reinforces the fact that THEY ARE SIBLINGS SO PLEASE STOP IT EUNGI and get a damn life. Honestly I could have rooted for you if there was some normal hot headed terrible jerk of a male lead, but sorry - against RG...you are nothing more than shoe dust! 13. I am glad it was Director Kang who called her, and not RG before she turned off her phone. We don't need that sort of a misunderstanding in this house and I am glad directors agree. This drama has ruined me for all the others! Honestly, the only place RG will ever find me at 7am would either be on soompi, viki or in deep sleep. Why so early haha 14. DM...girl...YOU ARE SO LUCKY! I can't believe how good RG is to you...seriously. The fact that you cleared up your r/l with EG the night before, and RG actually coming out and comforting you after all that... I mean I love her, and she's extremely relatable - I mentioned in a post before...but really - what a man. Excellent specimen! REAL LIFE MEN, GO AND LEARN! Also, did you see how great he is? He goes for the kill(kiss) when he should, he's assertive against EG when he should be, he is comforting DM when he should, gives her space when he should, is concerned but can handle pressure - he has the highest EQ I have seen, especially in dramaland where people are ultra dumb. I am screeching - also...Ryan Gold... he didn't misinterpret her hiding for doing something wrong but as nervousness. I am sorry for ranting but so many things could have gone wrong here but it was handled beautifully by Ryan and I just can't praise him enough. 15. I don't want RG to be hurt again - he looks pained... look hun, Deok Mi...Si Na Gil Nim...keep him happy all his life okay? He deserves to be - he is such a great character it physically hurts me to see him frustrated, or crying or anything. Please comfort him. 16. So the fact that DM changed to RG's clothes...and I saw RG seducing her... DOES IT MEAN the thing my pervy self is imagining HAPPENED? YES? PLEASE! Excellent. Brilliant. The writers are the best we have seen. I don't know how people are calling it your standard romcom - it is the best one that could be, it chooses to work around existing tropes and yet be fun and entertaining. The only times they use some tropes is either for humor or for deepening the relationship, not for stupidity. Touch wood. It really shot up in my list of kdramas, and I have been watching them for a LONG time... Cheers to the team for being just so amazing.

Just watched episode 14, and I have to say that I'm impressed with this drama right now. I think it takes the drama from being just another romance about two people figuring out they like each other, and takes it through an entire relationship arc in a thoughtful way. So, initially, it was about the JH and SH trying to figure out how they felt about each other, cocooning themselves in their relationship. Not because they were actively trying to keep it a secret, but because of their circumstances and their nature, they kept the relationship to themselves for the most part. Though people who were close to them slowly started finding out, as their relationship continued to flourish. Once they had established how they felt about each other, they had to face opposition from people who didn't really matter that much to them, e.g. WS, Director Choi, SH's mother, the public. These were all people who opposed them for their own reasons, and for whom neither SH or JH had any particular regard or feelings for. And, they were able to hold on against them because they were people who didn't really matter to the OTP. And, now they come across the last and hardest hurdle, the negative effect on and/or opprobrium from the people who are closest to them, whom JH and SH regard and love. So, it's JH's mother's opposition out of love and fear for her son, which SH had been expecting all along because she's the older divorcee who lives in a public fishbowl vs the sweet, young JH. It's JH's brother JM getting into fights over innuendos cast against JH. It's even SH's father who has decided to step down from his position. He phrases it as taking courage from SH's actions to do the right thing, but it's also a move designed to free SH from his ambition. If SH had stayed married to WS, then SH's father probably would have gone on to become the next president of Korea (as far as this drama is concerned). That is a momentous step to take any way one looks at it. JH is also becoming aware of how his decision is impacting his family, and I think that's an important step for him to recognize and deal with, which I think he's started doing. So, now JH and SH really, really have to look at it hard for themselves and into their own hearts. Is their love worth asking their loved ones to take the risk, with all of its potential pitfalls, along with them as well? I think I've written on this before, that relationships are about more than just two people, even though we like to frame it as if only the two people matter. In the real world, if your friends or your family don't like your chosen partner, it makes it incredibly difficult on anyone. So, you really have to inspect whether the relationship is worth it, or whether it would eventually end anyway, in which case, why have everyone you love suffer for its sake. So, JH and SH, having overcome all the previous hurdles are at the final one to overcome. I'm confident that they are going to overcome this hurdle as well. They are happiest and strongest when they are together. Also, they have a lot of people cheering them on now, including both fathers. And, JH was able to tell his mother how he felt about SH which may cause his mother to drink, but will also cause her to think. Now it's a question of how much does his mother trust JH to be his own man. I would hope that rather than going through with breaking up with JH, SH considers their love enough to ultimately fight for it, even if she has to to her knees in front of JH's mother every day until JH's mother relents. (Only because going to one's knees is such a big deal in kdramas. ) However, I could see that SH isn't confident that she's really a good enough person for JH, and thus carries through with the breakup. If that happens, both JH and SH will suffer greatly, and the people around them who care for them will notice. It may require SH breaking up with JH for JH's family's sake and then having to watch both JH and SH suffer being separated for JH's mother to relent and realize that they are serious in their love and care for each other as well as for those in their vicinity. I'm willing to wait to see how the drama decides to take it. However, I'm even more confident that JH and SH will win out over this last hurdle to be together, and having had to consider over and over again whether this relationship is the one that they both want. Btw, I have to admit that I really loved that the drama mentions that JH is SH's first love. SH may have gone through a marriage and a divorce already, but she never loved her husband. She was just doing her duty. So, JH is SH's first love, even as SH is JH's, as both JH and SH have both acknowledged now, even if not to each other. In that sense, it is a bit of an old-fashioned love story about love that is fated and thus can overcome all obstacles.

I SAW PARK MINYOUNG AND KIM JAEWOOK TT_TT FINALLY AFTER GOING BACK AND FORTH TO THE HOUSE T_T I was somewhere else and went there around 10:30 pm. And there was filming!!! Many fangirls were staking out over there. The staffs blocked the whole road to Deokmi's house... So I was just standing at the intersection. I could not even see what they were doing... A few minutes later, Park Minyoung walked toward her van...just a few meters in front of me TT_TT She looked so fine, yet tired... So she didn't smile Then not too long after, it was Kim Jaewook... SO TALL AND HANDSOME. Too bad it was too dark I couldn't get any pics. The fans greeted him and wished him well after filming, so he answered them kindly (THAT VOICE THO T_T) After the actors were gone, I could walk to Deokmi's house and saw Ryan's car was parked in front of the house. I FELT SO LUCKY I DECIDED TO STOP BY AT THE HOUSE DESPITE BEING SO LATE... Initially, I wanted to just go home T-T https://ibb.co/rbxg28X https://ibb.co/sHZ8nMW https://ibb.co/828TQWj Edit: I didnt see KJW's clothes (Sorry I was obviously busy focusing on his face rather than his clothes lol)...but PMY seems to be wearing a similar colored blouse like the one she wore at the end of ep12

Cha Soo Hyun, Kim Jin Hyuk and The Little Prince (part one) Although this story, written by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, looks like a book for children due to the drawings and the style, in reality The little prince is classified as a philosophical tale. First, the author is criticizing through this story our modern society... don't forget that it was written during World War Two therefore he wanted people to question themselves and their values. The main points are the following: - the contrast between appearances and reality - the incapacity of communicating between adults and children - the importance of relationships among people and to take care of them - the sense of responsibility towards others - the loss of true values due to money and power (represented by different kind of adults: the king, the drunkard, the geographer as scientist, the businessman, the vain man and the streetlight igniter) In The Little Prince, the adults are portrayed in a pejorative way: their lives consist of dependencies (alcohol, the need of admiration, the greed to possess etc.), of loneliness and lack of feelings. After reading this short description, you can observe that CSH's world looks a lot like the world in this story. The two main protagonists in The Little Prince are the aviator and the Little Prince, yet they should be considered as representing the same person because the main point of this tale is to ask people to take care of their inner child. That's why you can read in The little Prince "All grown-ups were once children... but only few of them remember it.” The little prince represents the child embodying all the positive aspects like innocence, creativity, imagination, purity and curiosity in opposite to the adults mentioned above, while the narrator and aviator is the adult. Meeting the prince in the desert means that the aviator is able to rediscover his inner child and rethink about his own life: True values like friendship and love become visible again hence the fox says that "It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye." At the end of the story, The Little Prince leaves the aviator behind (officially he goes back to his planet but since a snake bit him, we can wonder if he died), yet the narrator says that he is still looking for the little prince, even asking the readers if they saw him. Besides, when the aviator looks at the stars in the sky, he always thinks of him. As you can see, the aviator doesn't forget his "inner child". He is an grown-up after all, yet he shouldn't forget his inner child. In the beginning, the aviator explains an unforgettable event. When he was 6 years old, the adults couldn't understand his drawing hence he gave up to become an artist. From that moment, the aviator started living like a grown-up... and here we can see a parallel with CSH. It was around this age, where she was forced to give up her innocence and carefree life and become an adult at an young age. Meeting KJH is like meeting the little prince. She discovers what she has long forgotten: love, joy, carefree life aso. This also justifies why KJH has this playfulness and cheerfulness as he is still very innocent. He might be a grown-up on the surface, yet his personality reminds us of a "child". I can not forget how some viewers sometimes reacted to his huge smiles... they were somehow bothered by these smiles. But seeing these from this perspective, KJH is the little prince, the one who will awaken CSH's inner child. Thanks to him, CSH is able to perceive life with her heart and no longer with her eyes. JWS was too realistic and too grown-up to bring happiness into her life. On the other hand, CSH represents the adulthood because in the philosophical tale, the little prince starts changing as well: he discovers what friendship and love mean which becomes painful for him. He loses little by little his innocence as well. He left his planet because of the rose. The flower was so vain, contradictory but vulnerable, however she ended up hurting the little prince with her words. She loves him but she is well aware that she was the reason he misunderstood her. The rose symbolizes on the one hand femininity and on the other love. The little prince only realized how unique his rose was after meeting the fox: "It's the time you spent on your rose that makes your rose so important.” We could say that KJH is resembling a lot to the little prince. He spent a lot of time with his rose, took great care of her but due to her words, he ended up leaving her behind. The rose could be perceived either as CSH (she broke up with him) or his mother (who hurt him by forcing CSH to break up with him). Moreover, moving closer to CSH who is the archetype of the adult means facing reality and the world of the grown-ups. He met the queen Chairman Kim, the greedy director Choi, the jealous CEO JWS... Each time, he got hurt but was able to overcome the suffering. He experienced a lot with CSH. He became little by little an adult. Yet his mother refused to see it. That's why CSH and KJH are both saying the same at the end: they make the other a better person. CSH can become more cheerful and playful again, KJH has become a real man. He is her fence and her protector. They complete each other. Striking is that CSH has a lot in common with the little prince as well. Both are lonely. He lived on his planet, she lived for her hotel. Secondly, both enjoy watching sunsets. The prince said he could watch 44 sunsets on his planet, when he felt sad. And we saw how the sunset in Cuba had such an impact on CSH. She could forget her sad life, this even marked the time of her awakening: trying to enjoy life differently. Then we have this. The little prince and the rose on his planet. Notice that the rose is protected by the glass, just like CSH's bouquet offered by KJH. @dukesa1122@lolipop86gorgeous@celebrianna@dreaminsince1998@larrysouth@yonaomi123@NongpeeP @rosschienta17@nubianlegalmind@shyguitar @roshzanna@twtwb@Tasia@rosiepeonie188 @xu_lyfe@nikir@guinearoyal@icyphoenix @stroppyse @thistle@Yongzura@thadora@jl08

I am not sure I see this episode necessarily as being melancholy. Instead, I see this as an episode where CSH and KJH are in deep personal reflection in preparation for making probably the most crucial decision of their life. They both understand how high the stakes are and the potential impact it will have on them as a couple, their families, and the employees of Dongwha Hotel (their extended family). When I look at their faces during Episode 12, I see the weighing of options, the potential outcomes of these decisions, and the uncertainty of how this will play out. Our actors do such a great job of using their eyes to express feeling and making only very subtle facial expressions to let us in on their thoughts. By the end of this episode, we finally see that resolution register on CSH's face as she sits in front of the mirror. The power of the moment where KJH sees CSH at the gate is not lost on me. He is both ecstatic that CSH has demonstrated in her actions that she is all in staying together as a couple and facing whatever the future holds for them. At the same time, he is also unbelievably worried about CSH's safety and well being as how he will protect her. PD-nim is bringing us through the emotional wringer. In Episode 11, we are so exultant at seeing our OTP commit to each other romantically and experiencing such incredible feelings of love for each other. However, in Episode 12, we experience angst for CSH as she seems to be facing insurmountable odds in defending her hotel while feeling anxiety for KJH not knowing how he can protect CSH in facing so much power, money and ruthlessness from JWS. This is such an outstandingly done drama. One thing that struck me is that I believe it was Teacher Lee that suggested they invite CSH to her dinner. This will carry a lot of weight with her parents concerning accepting CSH. Teacher Lee is a close friend of KJH's parents and based upon what I am seeing of her; she seems to be regarded somewhat as the respected village elder. I think she is communicating her endorsement of their relationship to KJH's parents, which I think will go a long way toward their accepting them as a couple. Sorry for the overly long post. I just had to rave about this series.

The significance of hands and feet in Encounter (part 1) Everyone remembers this scene: At the end of the episode 3, KJH moves his foot closer to CSH's shoes... but just a little, while he confesses that he went to Sokcho because he wanted to see her, he missed her. After hearing that KJH feels something for her, she moves her foot away from his. With this camera position, the director wanted to use the foot as symbol for the attempt of KJH to change their relationship. He doesn't want to keep this boss-employee relationship any longer, he definitely wants more and since he knows from the radio that CSH considers him as friend, he thought, he could try to be acknowledged as friend. Notice the connection between the small distance he moved his foot and his attempt to ask her to become an official friend. We know that he loves her because from the first episode, he was interested to know if she had a boyfriend. Yet here he only asks merely for a friendship as he knows that he can not ask for more right now. But as you can see, CSH rejects his offer and tries to maintain that relationship as boss-employee. A lot of people understood the symbolism behind this scene, however what I , like many viewers, failed to see is that the director and writer had been already using the feet and the hands as symbols since the first episode. Someone might even wonder as joke if the director is not a foot and hand fetish. Just in the first episode, we have 8 takings with the feet and 9 with the hands which is quite a lot. The first taking is this: JH brings her shoe back and puts it next to her foot. Here, her high heels embody the chaebol world which is a uncomfortable and painful world. That's why her foot has a wound. She might look good in high heels but with such shoes, it is impossible to walk for long and properly. JH with his hand offers assistance. Striking is the meaning behind the hand, JH has to lower himself but he doesn't mind it at all. The hand reflects two aspects: modesty and kindness. This simple taking has such a deep significance but it marks the start. From that moment, the director pays a lot attention to the hands, arms and feet of our protagonists. But let's go back to that scene where JH puts CSH's shoe in front of her. That's when he notices that her foot has a wound hence he proposes to walk barefoot. After convincing her, he offers his arm to help her to come down from the wall Notice that here KJH is keeping a certain distance from her, as he just offers his arm and not his hand. With some reluctance, CSH accepts his assistance one for time. But why does the director spend so much time on focusing on the hand and foot in this scene? In my opinion, first he would like to underline CSH's shyness, she is not used to physical contact. Secondly, he also outlines how quickly their relationship evolves. First, his hand was close to her foot which revealed a huge gap. Now, he is bold enough to offer his arm. The gap has diminished. Then we see her walking barefoot and at some point, JH looks at her feet and notice that they don't look good. CSH is not used to that way of life... being totally destitute that's why he proposes her to buy shoes. Since they drank beer together and walked together barefoot for a while, JH feels naturally closer to her that's why he grabs her arm gently without thinking as he proposes to buy sandals. It's a natural gesture but it outshines how comfortable JH already feels with her. For him, there is no longer any gap between them, they don't really belong to different worlds. However, CSH's reaction (she pushes his hand away) makes him realize that she is not feeling the same. She is definitely not used to be so physically close to anyone. Why buy shoes? He wants her to treat her like a princess but with his own means. He chooses "funny" shoes for her. She is hesitant to put on the sandals as this is totally new to her. However, the moment she puts on the shoes, she notices that they are comfortable. Since she looks at them, the viewer can feel her emotions. She is agreeably surprised that's why she accepts the sandals and walks later happily with him. But before that, the director focuses one more time on the feet. JH is still barefoot unlike CSH. So this taking illustrates that JH already gives priority to CSH. This zoom has another meaning. They are now in the same world... they are equal but not poor. They are not totally deprived. By experiencing walking barefoot, JH realized that CSH did belong to another world but he had no idea that she belonged to the chaebol world. As they walk together, CSH puts her hand on her stomach. She is signalizing that she is hungry. The hand is used here as a way to express oneself that's why we have sign language. The hand is a tool for communication. I had already pointed out that CSH had never been allowed to express herself. She had to remain silent and obedient, however she developed two strategies where she could express herself freely and show her emotions: the paintings and the hands. In other episodes, like in the episode 2 we see her caressing the watch she wore in Cuba. This tender and intimate gesture illustrates that she treasures this time spent with KJH. She is remembering all the emotions she felt that time. In this scene, she does it, when she is alone, no one can see her being so tender. But let's go back to the scene, where JH notices that she is hungry. This is really important because it shows that JH is a good observant. He already pays attention to her body language, which JWS doesn't and has never done. For him, she was always sour-faced as he only looked at her face. He never looked elsewhere. What caught my attention is when they are at the restaurant, the director has two similar takings. Unlike in the other camera positions, the hands are not the focus but they are both in the center of the zoom. Both serve the same purpose. JH's hand indicates his hesitation if he should pay for the salsa show, CSH uses her hand to hide her laugh and smile. Both are expressing a certain shyness. She doesn't dare to laugh in front of him, he is thinking if this is worth. He is still unaware if she is attracted to him or not. He had already told her that he found her cute. This "shyness and awkwardness" will be even more visible later, when they are about to part from each other. They already like each other but they don't know how to approach the other without looking like a flirt/playboy. But between the restaurant and the departure, they went to the salsa show... here, JH is able to take CSH's hands which is really important. She allows him to touch her and become close to her. It took JH the entire evening and night spent with her to be able to touch her, however this was for him a signal that he had some chances. That's why he wants to meet her the next morning. He wants to know if she is as interested in him as he is in her. What KJH didn't see is this. When she is in the taxi, she looks at her shoes and has a huge smile. CSH not only likes the shoes but she already perceives them as meaningful. She is happy and has already a good memory of the time spent with KJH. She doesn't feel that she belongs to a different world from KJH. This is the reason why the director pays so much attention to KJH and CSH's hands and feet. The evolution of their relationship is not only visible with the feet but also with the hands... CSH's shyness was the reason why KJH was very cautious around her and knew that he had to take little steps so that CSH would put down her walls and become physically intimate with him. Moreover, CSH shows a lot of emotions (anger, fear, ...) with her hands, as she has learnt to hide her thoughts and emotions. This is unnoticed by many, especially JWS, but not by KJH. So only in the episode 5, KJH was able to take CSH's hand again, when he proposed to have a some-relationship. It took him some time in order to come closer again... the gap between the two worlds was just so huge, however KJH was determined and persistent in his goal. First, he had thought that he had succeeded after having spent the afternoon with her, nonetheless when he saw this : he got anxious that he might have failed. As you can observe, the picture on the right shows two hands joined together... and KJH had not been able to take her hand after his return from Cuba. That's why he got worried... he knew that if he had touched her hand again, she wouldn't be able to cut ties with him. @dukesa1122@twtwb @xu_lyfe@nikir@guinearoyal@Tasia@icyphoenix @stroppyse @philosophie @thistle@Yongzura@thadora@jl08

You can only see the wind through the whistling of the trees. Love is like that. To see it, it has to be reflected in action. With JH it's in each and every gesture, sometimes surprisingly so. Like when he was working so hard to prepare the end of year party: I thought that he put in all that effort because he wanted to prove that he was hired on his own merit and not for his connections, and in doing so he wanted to strengthen SH's position in front of the board. But it was so much more than that. He was designing the best New Year present ever: choosing a masquerade because he knows how much she longs for anonymity, including a salsa band because he knows that dancing makes her happy, even hand drawing her mask... His love is so apparent in everything that there is no need for a single word. The secret that SH is responsible for turning his theoretical ideas of what love is into practice is no secret at all. It's there in every smile. His feelings are just too big to contain. In contrast, WS's love is invisible. It's all glib retorts and machinations behind the scenes. No wonder that even when he spells it out for her upfront SH does not believe it; instead she thinks that's it's yet another of his games. They never worked in the first place; it was a bad match based on pedigree and an explicit money exchange, not on compatibility or genuine feelings. Resurrecting a dead romance is useless; SH and ex are over. Still they should have an open adult conversation where WS can get his feelings off his chest properly and then move on. Maybe they can become better friends in the process. SH belongs with JH because they just work. Looking at the two of them together, you only see two people in love, and completely forget their age and status differences. It's all lovely done. There’s trust and respect on both sides. There's also an undercurrent of awkwardness in their physical interactions that I find realistic and endearing. JH is constantly hungry for more (like when he has to sit on his hands to prevent himself from reaching out to her during his first visit at her place). He keeps probing her boundaries, tentatively resting his hands on her shoulders after lending her his coat during their walk, then by the end of the day embracing her properly. Also she completely trusts him to go just as far as she is ready… They have to end up together. No other end-game makes sense.

Episode 14 BEST(+happy) moments: 1. RYAN CALLED DM EVEN when he was falling apart because he wanted her to go to sleep and he knew she'd be awake waiting for him - that's true love, folks. Also, DM running to meet RG late at night and knowing he'd be in the gallery was just cherry on top - and the way she scolded him - at this point I don't even know who I love more out of the two. The wake up scene was excellent, I LOVE CINDY. 2. (future) Sister in law-brother in law duo working to bring Ryan and his mom together - this is one tag team I NEED in the future for EVERYTHING. SA knows SNG. I will say it again. 3. PMY's english, just like her pronunciation of Ryan, was extremely pleasing to me for some reason. Also how she solved things for Ryan - I love you writers, you did a fine job at keeping her relevant (so she didn't fade into the background). Ryan's past had to be resolved anyhow, and so I am glad they kept DM as an important key/support throughout. She has matched Ryan's affection, understanding, patience...measure for measure. She's a life partner in every sense of the word. 4. Ryan's mother can't drink coffee...I love the little touch they added. Also Lee Il-Hwa...what a seasoned actress. 5. KJW portrayed Yoon Jae so well.... The tremor in his voice, the whispers, the intonation, voice cracks... I was heartbroken. 6. Hyo Jin calling DM's mom "mom" - I can't believe she's becoming my favorite character. Also the gallery staff getting disgusted by their PDA was funny af. 7. The way they create parallels, and match everything scene for scene - seductive teasing, the team dinner, coffee kiss, sandwiches, giving space, "Made in 1987"... I am so in love with the narration. Pretty sure they will give us more parallels like SA/LS actually acknowledging DM for her contribution to the exhibition when it was denied before. 8. I LOVED THE LAST SCENE. Hear me out. Yes, it was not sexy or explicit or daring, but the the last scene was so much more emotionally intense than ep9-10 kiss. The first is something you do after being apart from your lover for too long and you need to feel them as much as you could, but this scene was something that tells you that they will be just as unbreakable for as long as they live. The slow fall of her hair, him taking out the brush from her bun - it seemed to convey the union more beautifully than an actual explicit scene would. Think about it this way: bun signified DM was hiding things, and then she let her hair down when her identity was revealed. The fact that Ryan let it down himself, meaning she is allowing him to enter the guarded walls she has kept around herself as a woman at his free will/own initiative, after mutual declarations of love seems to convey intimacy of consummation without the need of an explicit bed scene. The direction is magnificent. The fact that they both seem quite conservative towards these activities(Ryan never stays back for the night as long as he can manage to etc.) - it, like first night of a newly wedded couple, holds immense significance. I don't know how to explain it well but I think people with slightly conservative values might understand? We might get to see them stumbling into the room locked in an embrace, but this action was the crux of it all.

KJW: Director Nam, it's from Eomoni (=DM's mother). [I'll get into trouble if I'm caught selling it.] ABH: I have to ask for one (tagging Kim Mee Kyung IG). Omma (angry emoticon x3) Me too! p.s. Ryan is going to need a lot of loving next week, so start the hug line now! -------------- What HPL has taught me so far: 1. Argue in a private place 2. Sit down and talk over conflicts 3. Be understanding (or at least try to) 4. Genuinely let others know about your secrets. 5. Be observant towards what others may feel . 6. Be there for them when they need you.

Ten Things I hate about Encounter 1. The writer made Jin Hyuk so considerate and thoughtful to the people he loves that it would be hard to find any fault in him when he's too perfect. 2. Cha Soo Hyun almost broke up with JH just to protect him from experiencing the hardships she had gone through. You win hands down for your selfless love. 3. I hate that because I couldn't wait for the subbed version I started watching live stream and reading live recaps just to understand and make sense of what is happening. All this trouble just to watch JinSoo couple. 4. I hate that JH and SH's characters felt so relatable that when they cry, I did too. It didn't help that I was sitting in the bus on my way home and trying hard not to. 5. I hate that the mothers in this drama are shown mostly in a negative light. Chairwoman was overbearing, Mi Ok overly ambitious, while Yeon Ja crossed the line with her desire to protect her son. The only mom who was like a haven to JinSoo is Teacher Lee. It didn't hurt that Yeon Ja finally redeemed herself by admitting personally that she made a mistake, and not just apologized sincerely but with LOTS of yummy food as a peace offering. 6. I also hate that PBG and SHG's acting was so incredibly raw and heartfelt that I cried so many many tears in episode 14 and 15 that I used up a whole box of tissue. 7. I so hate break up scenes the most. Too much angst. Thankfully the playground scene made up for it. 8. I hate that this simple story managed not only to awaken my old love for reading books, appreciate poems, and most importantly to realize that to cherish what we have, no matter how simple, is what makes life special. 9. I hate that now whenever I passed by a bookstore I would always think of JinSoo. There really is no exit to Encounter. 10. And lastly, what I hate the most is that starting next week there would be no more new episodes to look forward to. Jin Hyuk-ah, Soo Hyun-ah I will miss you two very much. Your love story will always hold a special place in my heart❤ Thank you Encounter for being so meaningful and heartwarming. And thank you for this thread with everyone's lively discussion and analysis. Thank you for the live recaps. Thank you to each and everyone here. Good night.

It's a reasonably good closure for all the lead and supporting cast. Kudos to JH's mum for coming round and making her son happy again. He proves to his mum that CSH is a good person and is helping him to be a good person too. No Cuba hot kiss but a sweet makeup and beautiful, deep kiss with snowflakes falling on their faces which is meaningful. Their visuals are beautiful. It might not be the best ending for KJH and CSH - no marriage, but a proposal. Perhaps it's the time factor. Would have added to the beauty of this drama if there was a white wedding. But the closure is fine. At least it's not a dream nor a tragedy...they're there for each other and there to stay for a long time. KJH putting the ring back on CSH's finger is a wonderful moment. CSH receiving her Cuba shoes from him was overcome with their beautiful Cuba memories (which was KJH's intention) and couldn't hold her longing for him any longer, dashing out to find him. The scene of both walking towards each other in the snowfall is hauntingly beautiful. I'll remember this scene with their final kiss for a long time to come. Watching our OTP going through tough times and growing stronger in their relationship is the best message for me. It didn't break them...almost...but their love surpasses all hurdles. Take heart and believe in each other's love. Good times will come and have come for KJH and CSH. Boyfriend is a beautiful drama, despite the heartbreaking scenes which might not be easy to stomach but fact is - they love each other and are marrying each other. I shall continue with the drama by dreaming about their white wedding and tiny feet running...since PBG and SHK have amazing visuals and Screen chemistry that kill and our wish is not fulfilled..... Thanks for staying here for PBG and SHK. I'm really glad that we've united to support Boyfriend. It's been an enjoyable ride overall. It's been great making new friends too. Cheers! P/S : Kyo looks so sweet and adorable at the last scene when she ties up her hair.....and both are adorable when they posed at the murals too...told ya they have amazing visuals....

Episode 15 I have just watched Episode 15 with subs, and I have nothing but appreciation and respect for the whole crew and cast members. It is another well-thought-out, well-executed and well-acted episode. Despite a lot of challenges, the episode remains beautiful, sensitive, and thoughtful. While a lot of fans might be displeased as they understandably wished for a quicker movement of the sad scenes so that they could see more happy scenes of the main couple, I appreciate that the episode stays loyal and consistent with the pace of the drama and does not feel rushed. While many viewers might be understandably disappointed at Soo Huyn for deciding to break up with Jin Huyk, I feel the move to be totally realistic and expected. It is totally consistent with the plot development and the background, perspective, hesitation, struggle and fear that the character has gone through. While a lot of people might be understandably unhappy to witness Jin Huyk’s pain and sorrow, I appreciate that the episode takes time to describe his emotions (just like how episode 14 takes time to narrate Soo Huyn’s emotions), which in turn demonstrates the strength and the depth of his love, as well as his character and personality (look at how he treats his mother throughout the series and keeps everything in his own, even after he discovered what and how she did to the love of his life behind his back, it says so much about Jin Huyk’s personality and explains so much how Soo Huyn thought that she should not force herself into his family to make everyone suffer). As a result, the episode removes any doubts that one might have over Park Bo Gum’s acting ability (just like how episode 14 does a great job in showing Song Hye Kyo’s superb acting). And I’d just like to end this note by bringing us back to the very first teaser of the drama which indicates Jin Huyk’s as the source of bright and color for Soo Huyn’s grey world and reveals the couple’s smile facing each other after the biggest wave is gone. I am sure that will happen in the end.

@lolipop86gorgeous @philosophie Honestly, it took me a long time before watching the episode 13... because I knew what was going to happen. Even after watching the preview for the next episode, my heart is really aching. What caught my attention in the episode 13 is this Now, you are wondering why. JH's mother is using the tangerine syrup in order to lure CSH. And this contrasts to teacher Lee's gesture in the episode 6: Both pictures have something in common, the citrus fruit. Before analyzing the first scene mentioned above, we have to pay attention to teacher Lee's gesture. Lee gave the mandarine to show JH her support and comfort. Her gesture was very warm, even motherly because she had peeled the mandarin for him before. In that scene, we could see that Mrs. Lee was worried, yet she never said anything about it. She offered the fruit which made JH happy. Moreover, it seems to me that offering an orange can signify wishing him good luck because tangerine and chance have the same sound in Chinese. Lee's gesture indicated that she would support him no matter what. Now, observe the contrast with the tangerine syrup. First, the mother didn't offer this tangerine syrup directly, she had to use LDC and JMJ in order to reach CSH. Then she is not offering a tangerine as such, but a syrup. We all know that syrup is made of sugar and too much sugar can become poisonous. I connect the syrup to the love of JH's mother. The love of JH's mother for her son and her family is actually too much. This explains why she points out that she wants her family to be as they have been. She is refusing any change, especially when it comes to JH. The latter has always loved her so much... remember the smile he had, when he was talking to his mother over the phone and got caught by CSH. The latter thought, he was talking to his girlfriend. So for the mother, it has nothing to do with CSH as such. She uses her special status as an excuse. She acts like a jealous woman. So offering the tangerine syrup was a poison, CSH thought, she had been accepted. Imagine the pain, when she realized that it was the opposite. JH's mother heard her son saying to his father that he couldn't live without CSH but notice, she avoided to hear it from her son herself. By not hearing it herself, she can act behind his back excusing herself that she had no idea. Moreover, she can dismiss it, saying that JH will overcome it. To conclude, JH's mother loves JH too much, just like the syrup is symbolizing it. (love = sweet) That's why we offer chocolates to our loved ones (=sweets). She is actually trying to kill the love between JH and CSH with the tangerine syrup. The syrup fits the mother's personality: the sweetness of her manners and voice can not make us overlook that she is trying to destroy that wonderful love. Besides, the mother's request is too unrealistic: her family not to change is impossible... her sons will leave her at some point and start their own family. But let us not forget that in the episode 13, JH said that he could forgive the person who hurt him because everyone makes a mistake once. I hope, there is an argument between the mother and the son, as soon as JH realizes why CSH pushed him away. JH loved his mother too much... but he needs to be disappointed in order to put a boundary and make his mother realize how selfish she was. @dukesa1122@celebrianna@dreaminsince1998@larrysouth@yonaomi123@NongpeeP @rosschienta17@nubianlegalmind@shyguitar @roshzanna@twtwb@Tasia@rosiepeonie188 @xu_lyfe@nikir@guinearoyal@icyphoenix @stroppyse @thistle@Yongzura@thadora@jl08

@Jemrie Oh my....this gif from you renew my goosebumps again....why are KJH and CSH looking so sensuous here? I had thought their Cuba kissing scenes are so passionate and oh so intimate with biting and pulling....somehow, this is just a simple gentle pushing on the swing but the manner that KJH uses his palm to touch CSH's legs with that tender glance up at her face and his eye contact with hers is more than a simple push on the swing. Even this, our OTP is able to make us flush red-hot with their intimate gesture. It's heart-fluttering... KJH's face is full of love while CSH is basking in his love. PBG and SHK are really out to kill us with their chemistry! I'm gonna miss #Boyfriend really bad. Like PBG said at the press con, "Boyfriend" has lots of heart-fluttering moments and they more than fulfilled their promise. This drama will hold a special place in my heart forever because it's about true love and its sacrifices that make us cherish our other half so much. Beautiful take with a gorgeous couple.

Their first moment together @NongpeeP observed that it was Cha Soo Huyn who made the first move and started initial interactions with Kim Jin Hyuk and that it was only after these moves and the ramyeon news that Kim Jin Hyuk had interest in Cha Soo Huyn and made his own moves. This is an interesting observation, but that's not really what I see. I'm not sure when Cha Soo Huyn and Kim Jin Hyuk first saw each other. I think the upcoming episodes will shed more lights and give us a specific answer on this. They might have seen each other for the first time at their university in Korea. Or they might have passed each other earlier on a street in Seoul. But we all know that Havana was where they had their first real encounter and spent the first moment together and, for me, they both developed mutual interest in each other right from their first encounter. It was because their initial feelings were mutual that their first moments together became more beautiful and meaningful. Kim Jin Hyuk paid attention to Cha Soo Huyn as soon as he captured her in his camera. We are not sure whether he followed her to the sunset viewpoint, or more likely, it was mere a coincidence as he was heading there anyway, but it was quite clear that he continued to pay attention to her, otherwise he would not be able to catch her right when she dozed off and almost fell down (without it they wouldn’t have had their first encounter). The way he looked at her when she was awake told us that he was already enchanted. I cannot blame him, I would totally be enchanted if I were there with her. And I can totally feel that he was sincere when he said his shoulders were lucky (yes they were). When Cha Soo Huyn looked at the sunset and said "it is beautiful", the way he looked at her again told us that he was thinking inside "you are beautiful". His interest became even clearer when he gave her his phone and played that romantic song for her as the sun was setting beautifully in front of them above the sea and people were dancing behind them. I don’t think he would have had done this if he had not have any interest. The guy is however mature and respectful as he decided to leave to give her some privacy when he noted that she was in some deep and emotional thought [about her past and present struggles]. At that point we started to see more Cha Soo Huyn's smile, which was so rare in the previous scenes, and that was when she started to ask to borrow some money for beer, to which he very eagerly agreed (It was quite clear that he did not really want to leave. The guy could not hide his smile and could not help saying that she was adorable. He was actually so relieved that he had saved some money so that he could use for that moment). And she was adorably happy after hearing from him that she was adorable. When she looked upon him and shyly turned away as soon as he caught her eyes (with a smile) and when she wondered about his age and commented that he was like a green grape, I know for sure that she had interest in him. It was one of the most romantic and charming yet adorable and subtle first encounter ever. I wish the couple and all members of the thread a wonderful new year.

I just finished watching the final two episodes finally. Real life got a little away from me, so late to the finale party. I actually enjoyed the final two episodes, though it may have been best to be able to watch the two episodes properly back to back so that my heart wouldn't hurt so much from JH's breakdowns. Though, watching JH's grief versus SH's grief was right for both of their characters. JH who is the more open with his emotions was able to cry not paying attention to where he was or who may be watching. He was heartbroken and he expressed it. SH's grief was just as intense, but contained within herself and by retreating both emotionally and physically, even from those who loved her and cared about her. Anyway, episode 15 when I finally watched it in its entirety didn't fill me with despair after all. Rather, it was an evolution to watch how JH processes what's going on, both to SH as well as between himself and SH. His concern for SH over how she is doing with her father's predicament is then compounded with disbelief and grief over her break up with him. He then deliberates and vacillates between sticking it out with her and letting her go as she had seemed to want, both options clearly painful for him. SH, in her turn keeps everything so closed up inside her that she becomes once again the controlled, unemotive person that she had been before she had met JH. However, she can't quite keep it all contained within her, and it comes out in little ways. The most prominent expression of her grief being her decision to go to Cuba until the hotel is complete, despite the fact that the Cuban hotel is actually doing well with the management they have on the ground there. SH is clearly wanting to return to a place where she had felt peace and love, even if she thinks she has to deny that peace and love for herself. He also finds out some details that he needed to know such as that his mother had objected to their union and expressed that objection to SH. JH then confronts SH again about his mother's objections only to have SH hold firm. The allegory she tells him about his mother's tangerine preserves shows him that it's more than just his mother that has SH deciding she can't be with him. Rather it's her fears over him, or rather her fear of destroying him and his family through the public scrutiny and messiness that is her life which then leads her to feeling guilty over dragging them into her mess. So, faced with knowing that SH's torment is her own fears and sense of guilt, JH decides to let SH go after all, and even to resign from the Donghwa Hotel. So episode 15 ends up with a cliffhanger, of sorts, with JH writing up his resignation, but then his memories of their times together, gives him new resolve. And, we find out that in episode 16 that his resolve is that SH is the only woman that JH will ever love and that he also loves his mother, so he's going to wait for both SH and his mother to come around. This arc is actually rather beautiful in terms of seeing how his thoughts and his emotions go from one to another as he tries to figure out what is best for the woman he loves, but also to understand himself a little better to see what he wants to do and can do. So, he is able to tell her to do what she feels she has to do, even if that is to break up with him, however, he has no intention of breaking up with her. He is going to be true to the person that he is, and so he is going to keep loving her and watching over her. And actually, SH's mood seems to lighten with this proclamation of JH's, even though she doesn't say anything about it to him. Episode 16 also provided more interactions between JH, SH and their friends and family members as each either offered support, encouragement, or were finally brought to some understanding. So, while when JH's father was scolding JH's mother about interfering in JH's life when JH had chosen the path that he wants to take, she stubbornly insisted that JH would get over it and live a better life for it. However, the conversation between JH and his mother where JH tells his mother that he loves SH as much as he loves his family seems to have driven the point home to his mother that this really isn't a flight of fancy for JH. He already thinks of SH as being part of his family, and is firmly resident in his heart, that steady, unwavering heart that his mother knew so well. His mother is also moved that her son is so steadfast in his love for her that rather than being angry or upset with her over her interference, he instead professes to love her and understand her. And, so her heart is moved because she knows how much she's hurt SH, and now she understands how much she is hurting her own son as well. But, episode 16 also gives us more insight into SH, and I really liked the conversation between SH and JH's mother. SH's point is that if it was only JH's mother's objections, that SH wouldn't have broken up with JH. Rather, SH would have gone to JH's mother every day to try to convince her to accept her. So, while JH's mother may have been the instigator, it's because JH's mother's fears so closely echoed the fears that SH herself had, that she had decided to break up with JH. And, so ultimately, it's SH's own fears that has to be allayed, and it's actually through her father's observation that while he had lived and worked diligently, that neither he, nor SH's mother, nor SH herself had had very much happiness from all that diligence combined with the pictures that JH gives to SH that show SH in her only moments of happiness and freedom that convinces SH to change her heart and give love and life with JH a chance. And thus, the happy ending that so many of us had wanted. The first snow kiss was lovely, even if it's an often used trope in kdramas, and I actually appreciated that the story finishes in Korea rather than going back to Cuba, because Korea is home for both JH and SH, the home that they will share together. I'm going to stop now because I realize that I've been going on and on about, and could probably write even more about the very emotional final episodes, because this entire drama is about the growth that both SH and JH go through, and the emotional arcs that aid in that growth. I'm not sure that it is either SHK or PBG's best work to date, but I have to say that I am very fond of SH and JH, and their simple yet not simple romance. Thanks to everyone on the thread. It was fun hanging out here even when things would get a bit noisy at times. Take care and hope to see everyone on other threads.

@nubianlegalmind @dukesa1122 Thanks a lot for the compliment! By the way, I wanted to remind that I had even described JWS's world as a buried coffin because of the dark colors (brown and black) and the liking for oblongs. And in the last episode, CSH is asked to attend a death anniversary from that family which actually is indeed associated to death and buried coffin. My interpretation of their world was point on. If she had gone there, she would have been asphyxiated again. From my point of view, JWS has no idea how his life and horizon are limited... he thinks that his superiority is a blessing, yet in the end he knows nothing about life, love and friendship. That's why he is always shown alone and why he is able to stalk CSH. Even in the last episode, his loneliness increased because we didn't see his secretary. So far, he has always been shown with his secretary who kind of helped him and almost acted like a friend. But since JWS got this new position, he is now on his own... stalking his ex-wife. As the opposite to JWS's home which I connect to a coffin, JH's home is represented as a tree. The latter means protection, comfort and also symbolizes life, unlike the coffin since it is usually made of dead wood. Remember that JH has always been linked to nature. While JWS keeps referring to JH as the wind, the writer gives us another symbol for JH: the tree. First, he asked her to meet CSH in that beautiful alley with huge trees, then he mentions the story about the love letter buried next to a tree, then in the episode 12 he offers a plant, which looks like a tree. He also tells her to consider the plant as himself, his head and hair. Now, we know why CSH, often represented by the bird, can only love JH more and more: the tree and the air/ wind are the elements where we can see birds. The bird flies in the air but when it will seek protection in a tree. Furthermore, CSH told JH that she would have been scared, if she hadn't JH by her side... so JWS's actions did instigate fear but she is able to overcome it because of her boyfriend. I was wondering who is in the car with Nam and JMJ? Or there is no one else? Maybe it is her father... he said that he would do anything to protect his daughter and this would be great. Or has she asked Nam and JMJ to lie that she got suddenly ill in the car? @celebrianna@dreaminsince1998@larrysouth@yonaomi123@NongpeeP @rosschienta17@nubianlegalmind@shyguitar @roshzanna@twtwb@Tasia@rosiepeonie188 @xu_lyfe@nikir@guinearoyal@icyphoenix @stroppyse @philosophie @thistle@Yongzura@thadora@jl08

Ep12 thoughts WS is a jerk and a coward. I love JH for calling him out on it: hurting the person you allegedly love for personal gain is no love at all. This time it was clear that WS did not protect SH from the machinations of his mother after the divorce simply because it suited him. He gets to control her comings and goings and still see himself as the good guy. WS pays lips service to the she should not be forced to attend the family event position, but then happily sits and waits for her to show up. Hypocritical to the max. And the fact that he used JH's help in Cuba as an excuse to get his way makes him a snake of the lowest order. I wonder how he convinced his uncle to vote for him. I bet it was nonsense about him protecting her from his mother. Must have pulled a fancy act there. Still the truth remains: WS's world revolves around exactly one person - WS. ('SH is what I need' says it all). I was initially kind of mad at JH too, for doing stuff behind SH's back. But then I thought more about it and got to understand it a little. His way of protecting her is lowering her burden, as much as he can. Instead of forcing her to chose, he lowered the stakes. His job is to make sure that she takes care of herself, eats and sleeps well. Beyond that, he trusts her to sort out her own issues. And that is kind of cool. As usual, I love the reciprocity of their relationship - last episode he said I love you and made one huge step in committing to their relationship. Now she does the same. He may be working behind the scenes trying to protect her other love, but she steps center stage and choses him over everything else. No wonder the poor boy is a goner. Really looking forward to SH + Kim family fun. Once they got past the initial awkward phase I hope they get to see how adorable she is, and how happy the two of them are together. Looks like dad is already fully on board, but mum will need some more convincing. I hope she gets to see SH - the lonely kid deprived of motherly affection, and that it proves enough to trigger her caring instincts. But for now, give the poor girl some proper homemade food! And some soju since I doubt any being in existence can resist the adorability of drunk SH. PS: if last episode SH was scared to face the odds and JH was the one 100% certain of their ever after, the balance shifted this time 'round. As WS's meddling chipped at JH's confidence, she finally threw away her fears. Losing full control of the hotel did not matter quite as much as she thought it would. She is now brave enough to follow her dreams, and to redefine what those are. She set herself free all by herself. And that is awesome. PPS: Another thing that I love: at the beginning of the episode they are both feeling uneasy after meeting their respective 'wolves'. Solution: see each other. So often troubles pull couples apart. Here they only serve to bring them even closer together. PPPS: I love how JH calls her SHssi when she is in his good graces but switches back to 대표님 when he is grumpy. PPPPS: for the first time ever, i find couple rings unexplainably sexy. P^5S: Since I saw some fundamentally different takes on the can I spend the night at yours scene, I'll try to articulate my view here: they shared the same hotel room and were intimate in Cuba (the body language is very clear; when they are driving around in the car, for instance). They withdrew within more socially acceptable/ less obvious personal space boundaries when they got back to Kr, to avoid another scandal. He was a gentleman and went home after dropping her at her place drunk. The second time, he just missed her too badly and wanted to spend the night and the hell with caution. I never got the sense that it was the intimacy per se that she was objecting to but rather him being in her bed. As a woman who has been living alone for a long time I totally get that sentiment, the slight reluctance to give up one's personal space. Also, when JH imagines a future together: that future is one where he wakes up every day to the sight of her face - it's all about wanting them to live together. P^6S: I love how SH gets nervous about visiting future inlaws and that she asks her bf what to wear. Also Mrs. Lee for orchestrating the meet the parents so cleverly.

The marriage didn't just fail because of the lack of communication between JWS and CSH, their education was the other cause. Both have never been taught to express themselves because of both mothers. CSH never dared to tell JWS how she felt, just like JWS. JWS had not realized that words have power. His education taught him that only money and connections were powerful hence he used his money to console his wife. If he had said something to his wife after the abuse, CSH wouldn't have felt lonely and pitiful. For JWS, words meant nothing that's why she perceived her ex-husband as weak. Now, he is changing a little as he tried to write a poem but let us not forget that the flowers were the main focus. JH appears powerful and manly because he expresses himself a lot... like for example "his greed has no limit" and he starts hugging CSH from behind. He tells her what he wants to do and waits for CSH's answer. She turns around and hugs him showing him that she is okay with it. Then in the episode 10, he complains that she has never told him how handsome he was. CSH has never learnt that expressing herself can have a good impact on the partner. JH is actually teaching her about that. That's why JH shows her after getting praised for his good looks, he feels loved and recognized. JH, although younger, is much more experienced and wiser than her. The reason is his knowledge of books. Books and indirectly words influenced him so much. He could gather knowledge and wisdom, therefore he used his books and words to woo CSH, while JWS keeps using gifts (flowers, dress, rings) to impress her. JH's behavior contrasts so much with JWS's behavior. JH tells her how he thinks and feels but he still respects her decision. Although our protagonist was hurt, when CSH asked him to keep their distance from each other for a while, JH accepted it. On the other hand, JWS keeps ignoring CSH's words and actions. CSH clearly expresses that she will never go back to him (episode 3, 9) and even how she views her ex-husband as weak man but JWS acts as if he was deaf. the ex-husband thinks that CSH will change her mind. He underestimates CSH's love for JH. In his eyes, since JH is a commoner, he is not worthy of CSH. He congratulated her for the good article and review but overlooked that JH's action was the reason for that. JH is someone below him and CSH. Imagine his feelings, when CSH totally ignores him and lets him wait for three hours. JWS thought, he is entitled to have CSH's visit. JWS needs to learn on the hard way that he is nothing compared to JH. That's why I am looking forward for JWS's meddling in the hotel business. I hope, JH can show him his skills. CSH is gradually changing as well... she is learning not to keep everything to herself. On the other hand, I hope that JH learns to confide more and more about his own struggles. It was hard to see how JH kept smiling, while he was hurting. CSH knew that very well that's why she asked HI about it. However, JH hadn't said anything to her. Since JH has been taught to act strong and responsible as his parents were working hard, I think, at some point he needs to show his vulnerability in front of CSH, when the latter is strong enough to fight for both of them. Until now, JH knew that CSH would worry so much hence he couldn't tell her everything, too afraid that she might run away. @twtwb @Yongzura @stroppyse @nubianlegalmind
