OSEN 'Diva of the Desert Island' Lee Jung-ok transforms into a devil...Works with 'Judge from Hell' Park Shin-hye Park So-young2024. 4. 18. 08:51 V [OSEN=Reporter Lee Dae-seon] Actress Lee Jung-ok is listening to questions from reporters. /sunday@osen.co.kr Actor Lee Jung-ok has confirmed her appearance in the drama ‘The Judge from Hell.’ Actor Lee Jung-ok, who is loved by many and has a distinct presence in leading box office hits such as 'Strong Woman Gang Nam-soon', 'Diva on a Deserted Island', and recently 'Murderer's Trap', is making her mark by being cast in the drama 'The Judge from Hell'. He is expected to make a big splash as a genre master. The new SBS drama 'The Judge from Hell' (written by Jo Yi-soo/directed by Jin-pyo Park/produced by Studio S), scheduled to be aired this year, tells the story of Kang Bit-na (played by Park Shin-hye), a 'devil from hell' who enters the body of a judge, in a reality that is more hellish than hell. It is a romantic fantasy drama about a man who meets Han Da-on (Kim Jae-young), a more humane detective than anyone else, and is reborn as a true judge by punishing criminals. Following Park Shin-hye and Kim Jae-young, veteran actors such as Kim In-kwon and Kim Hye-hwa are receiving attention as a highly anticipated work, and Lee Jung-ok has joined the cast in the role of 'Jaehyun'. Jaehyun is a devil who runs a cleaning company called 'Sergeant Cleaning' in the human world, and Lee Jung-ok plays Jaehyun and is expected to add to the fun of her by working with Park Shin-hye, who plays Kang Bitna. Lee Jung-ok is actively engaged in both the small screen and the big screen and is attracting attention as a 'reliable actor'. Last year, in JTBC's 'Strong Woman Gang Nam-soon', he played the role of 'Kim Nam-gil', a cute and attractive secretary with a lot of charm, and in tvN's 'Diva of the Desert Island', he played the role of 'Kang Sang-du', a loving wife and father full of love, and the sorrow of losing his daughter in the Netflix series 'Murderer's Toy'. He played the role of 'Kang Sang-mook', a father full of emotions, and played a variety of characters with different human charms, proving that he can play any character without any problems. In addition to this, Lee Jung-ok has also shown strength in genre acting. From OCN's 'Strangers from Hell', tvN's 'The Method', and KBS2's 'Zombie Detective' that introduced her to the public, Lee Jung-ok left such a strong impression that she continues to be talked about when talking about genre characters. Accordingly, attention is being paid to the acting transformation he will show in 'The Judge from Hell'. 16. I found it amazing on EP 14, she was alive and had a long hair after the surgery? isn't this a serious Brain tumor? No need to shave? Oh I forgot this is fairytale romantic comedy drama, 😁 Anything unrealistic including some flaws found in drama are acceptable.🤣😄 There were two sad scenes in EP 14 : the main lead couple were crying and arguing whether to do surgery outside the church, and the scene where KSY thought that the FL had a car accident........ People sometimes appreciate some actors and their acting only because of their portrayal of strong or complex characters. But the true mastery in acting skill often lies in the ability to evoke profound emotions even from ordinary or simple characters. And for KSY in this drama, didn't have a strong & complex character but it is the simplicity, depth, and authenticity of how he acts which are commendable. Even I would say the same about the heroine. She is beautiful and she chose the right role for herself in this show.
  17. Ji Sung Reveals His K-Drama "Connection" Conveys a Message About Drug Crimes by Lily Alice, April 23, 2024 0 1 SBS's mystery thriller Connection dropped the first character stills of Ji Sung. The actor commented, "This drama has a unique theme that has not been commonly employed in dramas before, and it also carries a heavy message about the drug crimes that must be addressed in reality." He further stated, "The biggest goal was to portray Jang Jae Kyung's psychological and external changes in a way that doesn't appear overly sensational," and added, "I think it would be great if you watch the drama while thinking about Jang Jae Kyung's struggle and the root cause of the various actions that he will take as he gets entangled in an incident. The actors and the staff are putting their hearts into every scene, so please show lots of interest." Connection is scheduled to premiere on May 24. 22. Jang Ki Yong, Chun Woo Hee, Claudia Kim, And More Create Pleasant Synergy On Set Of “The Atypical Family” Drama Apr 23, 2024 by J Lee On April 22, JTBC’s new weekend drama “The Atypical Family” shared some behind-the-scenes photos, raising anticipation for the upcoming story! “The Atypical Family” tells the story of a supernatural family who lost their powers after suffering from very realistic problems. The drama is directed by Cho Hyun Tak of “SKY Castle” and penned by Joo Hwa Mi of “Marriage, Not Dating” and Kang Eun Kyung of “Dr. Romantic.” In the newly released photos, Jang Ki Yong perfectly embodies Bok Gwi Joo, a depressed time traveler trapped in past happiness as he grapples with current despair. Jang Ki Yong commented on his character, saying, “Bok Gwi Joo may seem lethargic and indifferent to everything, but he’s the one who strives harder than anyone to retrieve happiness.” He added, “It was difficult to portray contrasting emotions—from the current miserable state to past happiness—at the same time. I tried to convey even the smallest details beyond his external vibes.” A mysterious intruder, Do Da Hae (Chun Woo Hee), who brings depressed Bok Gwi Joo out to the world, intrigues viewers as her identity gradually unfolds. The actress stated, “Do Da Hae is a character who hides behind layers of persona.” She further expressed affection for the character, saying, “If you follow along Do Da Hae’s perception and mind, you will uncover her multidimensional charms.” As Chun Woo Hee is seen reading through her script even during breaks, anticipation is high as to what changes Do Da Hae will bring to the supernatural family. The released photos also capture Go Doo Shim and Oh Man Seok rehearsing their scenes. Go Doo Shim portrays Bok Man Heum, a key figure in the Bok family who lost her ability of foresight after struggling with insomnia, while Oh Man Seok plays Bok Man Heum’s husband, Eom Soon Gu, who is the only member of the family without supernatural power. In the behind-the-scenes still image, both burst into laughter as Oh Man Seok piggybacks Go Doo Shim, offering a glimpse of a pleasant atmosphere on the set. The photos also depict the filming scenes of Claudia Kim as Bok Dong Hee, who lost her flying ability after gaining weight. Claudia Kim underwent special makeup to fully embody the character, which she felt ambitious about due to the rare opportunity to portray such a character. Her visual transformation already generated buzz online upon the release of the character poster. Claudia Kim shared, “Since Bok Dong Hee has a distinctive character, I tried to portray her as freely as possible.” Meanwhile, Park So Yi posed in front of the camera adorably, contrasting with her sensitive and volatile teenage character Bok Yi Na. As a member of the secretive Bok family, viewers are left curious to know the story behind Yi Na. Director Cho Hyun Tak expressed his trust in the actors, remarking, “All actors gave their best. Jang Ki Yong delivered careful and profound acting in every scene, while Chun Woo Hee portrayed the ever-changing character with sincere and unique charm. Go Doo Shim enhanced the character’s completeness by personally preparing the clothing, and Claudia Kim’s acting transcended physical and emotional limits.” “The Atypical Family” is set to premiere on May 4. https://www.soompi.com/article/1656526wpp/jang-ki-yong-chun-woo-hee-claudia-kim-and-more-create-pleasant-synergy-on-set-of-the-atypical-family
