  2. Wow! Thanks for all of the posts and eagle eyes. I’ll most likely be a lurker here, more than an active participant. Great fun to read your posts. Keep up the good work!
  3. @ChunSungIm I, too, am really happy about her drama comeback but am also very apprehensive that it's a Kim Eun Sook drama. Like you said, Kim Eun Sook's drama female characters tend to lack character development and are poorly written, as in the case of Jin Eun Tak in Goblin. I hope Kim Go Eun won't be sidelined in the drama in favor of both the main and secondary male characters. On the other hand, the fact that Kim Go Eun is playing dual roles sounds like she might be doing some hefty lifting and acting in the drama so it gives me hope that her characters will be well written and will showcase her acting prowess. It gives me proud that the production studio chose her specifically because they believe in her ability to pull both dual roles. I'm very excited to see her in saguek. I hope she really brushes up on her saguek speaking tone and pronunciation because that was one of the complaints about Memories of The Sword. I hope she's back to playing a strong female character because she does that so well in her movies. And hopefully this drama will shut up all those negatives viewers who found her Jin Eun Tak lacking in Goblin and blaming her for poor portrayal of characte , not the fact that the character was poorly written in the drama. ************************************************** Kim Go Eun Pairs Up With Lee Min Ho For Her Drama Comeback KIM GO EUN MAKES HER MUCH-AWAITED SMALL SCREEN COMEBACK IN HIGHLY-ANTICIPATED DRAMA WITH LEE MIN HO! Reuniting with star writer Kim Eun Sook, the powerhouse cast and production team eye broadcast date in 2020. Based on the narrative overview, The King: the Eternal Monarch (working title) features two settings featuring parallel universe concept. It is also billed to showcase romantic moments for the hero and chosen female lead. Following Lee Min Ho’s dual portrayal, the same challenge will be tackled by the actress. She suits up for contrasting characters in the two parallel words. In Korean empire she portrays criminal Luna. Meanwhile, in the Republic of Korea world, she is Jung Tae Eul, a detective who will team up with Lee Min Ho’s character Lee Gon. Tasked to present antithesis characters, Kim Go Eun acknowledged the heavy load but vows to accomplish it. “It is not easy to play extreme characters like a criminal and detective. She said, “I thought that if I had a wide range of acting skills, I could do a good job for the two characters, one for Jung Tae Eul and one for Luna.” Taking the parallel world theme, The King: the Eternal Monarch depicts the story of Emperor Lee Gon, who is fighting off a supernatural villain by closing the door that leads to another dimension. In the other dimension, he seeks the help of his detective counterpart and Jung Tae Eul. After the massive success of Goblin, Kim Go Eun appeared in 2018 film Sunset in my Hometown. Moreover, she stars alongside Jung Hae In for film Yoo Yeol’s Music Album, which is scheduled to be released this year. While she has relatively worked on films since her debut in 2012, the actress gained mainstream success with her television dramas Cheese in the Trap and the iconic seriesGuardian: the Lonely and Great God. With confirmed commanding main leads starring Lee Min Ho and Kim Go Eun, the series schedules its filming in the second half of the year to enhance its perfection. Cr HelloKpop
  4. I'm probably in the minority when it comes to the main couple. I enjoy all the subtleties in their relationship. I skipped to the ending of the book - spoilers ahead
  5. I live in a gay village for almost 5 years so I'll try to answer. Some gay people will be obvious in the way they talk, walk, etc... But some others talk, walk, move just like straight guys so it's hard to tell until they let you know... But then again, there are some straight guys that seem gay as hell so everything is confusing in my town. There are guys that had surgery to have boobs, butt, and everything to look like girls but they're straight and kept their shlong because they're still into girls while wanting to look like a girl. They're like incompleted straight transsexuals but they don't want to be called transsexuals (or tranny), they wanna be called straight men. Some are normal straight guys by day and drag queen by night. I have so many stories here that are gonna seem weird to you but at the end of the day, it's just better to not think too much into it... The obvious ones (like famous Youtuber James Charles) have the stereotypical way of gay people that you can spot a mile away but there are a lot of very discreet ones out there we can never spot until they say so.
  6. Joining the discussion here because i can't contain my appreciation for this drama anymore and can't deal anymore either with the fact that nobody around me talk about it. Also i read in this thread the most interesting theories, thanks to all members who have been active here and keeping this thread updated, which makes it even more tempting to share my views. Back to the drama, the best things so far: Kim Bon Woong and Lee Young Jin: Not only they are my favourite characters because of how they have been written and developped as individuals, but their relationship stole entirely my heart. Their chemistry, dynamic, dialogues, looks put them in a special category for me. They convinced me at first sight to ship them and i will follow the drama and the relationship until its very end, no matter where it leads: their fall or their happiness. I don't expect happiness for this couple but i'm yet passionate about them as much as Kim Bon Wong is about independence. Though I'm very much aware it's not the main point of the drama, and romance between them is and will probably stay in a very ambiguous state because of their allegiances and the games they are forced to play to keep their fight strong. Hiroshi and his mystery: spy daddy covering his daughter's double identity as Bluebird or self serving men who lost his values as a doctor, killed his superior, blackmailed his best friend, and used a poor orphan to make himself a good image and reputation; he's a fascinating and scary man in each scenario. He's got everything to be a perfect spy: his lack of conscience when it comes to killing or manipulating, his carefully constructed plans, how he hides himself and his trails. I'd rather have him stay on Young Jin's side: if for any reason he becomes her enemy, she would be truly in danger. The actor is doing an excellent job at keep us guessing. But because of his "bad energy", i tend to see him more as self centered guy who is using Young Jin and the interest that Fukuda has in her to protect his position. There's also something about the trio of old student/friends is making with Oda and Kenta since the last week episodes that mirrors in the negative way the life of his daughter: they stay closed but engaged in a harsh competition to be at the top, while Young Jin, Esther and Yoo Tae Joon took separate ways but ended up embracing the same ideal and the same level of sacrifice. And this symbolical opposition between daughter and father works only if they are on different sides. But i'll be happy to be proved wrong. And the drama if giving us few reasons to doubt him : I've rewatched recently the 1st episode and realized that he had a strong reaction when Oda suggested to give up Young Jin when she was arrested arguing that she's not even his biological daughter. Through his strong rejection of this idea and the fact he agreed to sent her to Shanghai where he payed a lot of money to hire a very dangerous spy to keep an eye on her, it seems that he's indeed more attached to her than his cold attitude made it seem. It made me wonder if there's a possibility that she could be his real daughter. It would make more sense in the case that he has no links with the korean resistance, that he's just protecting his only blood child. His relationship with his wife seems to me to be quite awkward, as if he's faking the tenderness, so i wouldn't be surprised if he had an affair and kept it secret until he came back with his child. I have a hard time to believe that Hiroshi has never found the book. He's largely more experienced than her and after Esther's plan failed and Oda Told him about Yoo Tae Joon's involvement in the resistance, he must have searched through her things for evidences. Unless she carries the book always with her. But even in this case, she can't take it everywhere. Thanks a lot for the info! I knew the proposal would happen at one point! There were too many signs their relationship wasn't completely dead: Oda telling Fukuda about Hiroshi's marriage plan and appreciation and Fukuda nodding as it was something that he definitely welcomed and shared. Which explains why he was still meeting the father after being rejected by the daughter, told him nothing of her rejection and instead promised his loyalty. He had still hope that she would changer her mind or that Hiroshi could help him to convince her. Young Jin telling her parents that she changed and wanted to settle, that's why she wanted now to work at Hiroshi's hospital. It was obvious that Hiroshi was going to take it as a message that she's ready to marry. Even more after the scandal of her arrest, where it became urgent to get ride off any suspicion that could be still lingering. It work both ways, be it because Hiroshi thinks becoming the wife of high ranking japanese would guarantee her a maximum protection and cover for her spy activities or only to clean his name for good and strengthen his position. But i have a hard time to imagine she will accept: it would mean erasing completely her korean identity: changing her name, speaking only japanese, accepting a japanese husband and as loving as he can be, it would be hard to stomach for the little girl who watched all her relatives being killed by japanese soldiers. And everything that happened in Mandchuria largely woke up this little girl inside herself, keeping her outside her glass cell. Also what about her job as a doctor? Once married, she wouldn't be able to work. She has no feelings for Fukuda: the fact is that she rejected him coldly and in strategic move, for in her own words "protect Kim Bon Woong's identity and presence" in Shanghai. After the "break up" , she didn't think about him once and hasn't shown any regrets neither. She got absorbed by her relationship with Kim Bon Woong entirely to the point she's now making the moves to get closer and clearly not only as comrades. It might be my shipper biais but it seemed very hard to believe that what happened in Manchuria wasn't romantic: they shared many intense emotional moments in this place, and all came to consolidate a real attraction (though repressed in her case since she met him in the boat to Shanghai): the travel made together, the bond created with the people at Tae Joon's farm (the laugh and food), the feeling of working together to free Majar and how she had his back for the second time and did a better job to protect him than anyone else (even Nam Ok), the shared devastation when they returned to find everybody dead and the fact she sobbed in front of him, the funerals and mourning of their friends and how she opened her heart to him about the way she closed her soul a long time ago and his "promise/offer" that it won't be forever, that she can change her life, the trust Young Jin showed in Kim Bon Woong after he decided to avenge the victims and how she followed his plans, and finally the magical scene at the train station!. Everything was so romantic: the light, the cold, the snowflakes, how they at first kept distance between them, but on her own she decided to break it and made the few steps to get closer, how she leaned to tell him one of the biggest secret of her life fully conscious that she's putting her life in his hands, how she teased him to not smile at her because it would make her forget what a scary man he can be (!), the handshake she offered as their first physical contact and the smile on her face when he preferred a a hug. Since she returned, her only thought was for his words, for the way he promised to start anew together, that's why she said to want to settle: to stay next to him, now that he's in town. She looked like any girl rushing to meet her lover when she joined him at the tailorshop for a secret meeting (secrecy ruined by Fukuda by the way). and in the street, oh boy they so looked like lovers on date! Those smiles! She was glowing! Lee Yo Won never looked so pretty imo.( I don't talk about his feelings because they are obvious since the start ) This marriage offer might be made with her best interest at heart by her father and Fukuda, and it could be the best strategy for Bluebird but for Young Jin it will be a trap in which she will slowly suffocate.
  7. I hope the rumours are true. I have been missing her so much. I have not see any new dramas since ML ended and she had her baby boy. I hop eshe has managed to rest after giving birth and spending quality time with hubby and family.
  8. Wow I must be very old school with forums. Back in the old days, people would post so many pictures of themselves in public forums like Soompi including their "myspace", youtube, eventually facebook, etc... Instagram didn't exist yet back then but wow, it's now a brave thing to share those these days... Times have changed indeed (I just came back out of nowhere)...

  11. This is what google translations is saying to me: "love deep, the pillow is not complete. Tencent Video VIP #520 Love's official announcement day #勇勇说爱爱!". Boring...it's not like we were expecting the drama to be ready now. What a disappointment! At least they should have posted a picture of Zheyan or Liansong, if they didn't want to post a couple photo..meh
  12. @bebebisous33 & @Lalalaby Good theory. However, I am confused when you say, "real brother" as opposed to half brother? My grandmother had two sets of children, she was married twice, none of them act or feel as if they are not "real siblings" Do you mean you think they have the same mother and father? If so, I understand. Is it your theory that it was DM's mother who pushed RG away? Who left him at the orphanage? According to DM's memory she was playing with someone at the orphanage. Were they both, RG and SA, at the orphanage? Do you think that RG and SA are that close in age? SA knows his mother, remember she came to visit him at his apartment. RG's think his mother left him at the orphanage and she forcefully removed his hand from hers; therefore, RG does not like letting go of anyone's hand because when he does, he feels abandoned. It is my impression that SA and RG do not know that they are brothers. RG was adopted by a couple in the United States, I do not think his mother knows what happened to him and that is why she was in the chapel, perhaps she continuously pray for his safety and happiness. I think that much of RG's trauma comes from being separated from his mother which is why when he saw her paintings, he was traumatized he could not paint any longer. However, I do not discount your theory; because we never know where the story will lead us. Who knows, your theory might be right on all points.
  13. Also he licks his lips and his eyes become as if about to smile, but instead of he starts beating. Bloody ears, 'smiling' eyes, to lick lips, to tie around the neck, drag away and strangle - this is the Kouske's "belongings"? And, of course, 'daddy's' smile over the shoulder. I am not sure that DKW still controls Kosuke. I remembered his smile (while Big Boss was sinking) when he said to Song Soo Cheol 'I am only curious abt what you will say when you die.' Kouske likes watching dying ppl - what they say, how they are dying... And just for relax

  15. Noticed how wherever she moved, his eyes and hand moved the same movements as her. Talk about love. Idk y but a man like PSJ, I don’t see him as one who speaks a lot, but his eyes and actions said it all.

  17. Sad to say but I'm the same way. I have a perfectly functioning Nintendo Switch, PS4, the NBA playoffs is currently going on, I have tons of great shows/dramas/movies on Netflix/hard drive and all I do all day is check out HPL content or re-watch scenes. Dafuq is wrong with me lmao. Thank goodness we're only 48 hours away from the episode 13 subbed version to release.
  18. I'm like you. I do the same thing! I'm always thinking of Ryan and Deok Mi. And I think Ryan deserves Deok Mi's love.
  19. I didn't know Hjm and Jhi held hands during their presscon. I didn't follow their new drama because the teaser wasn't that interested to me and I'm not a fan of neither one. Looking at the pictures above, somehow I felt relief seeing hjm and jhi holding hands. I hope syj and hb are ok. I hope they will give us the official confirmation soon.
