  2. No, haven't read it but adaptations can be very different. Love your blog by the way and agree that fantasy can work well in a rom com---the cliche elements like people have mentioned and the very fact that Ruler's shadow is over this script makes me frown. I know I'll end up watching this because I end up watching a lot of shows because of cast and deciding after a few episodes if I'm staying. Who knows. oh @WoozyPrincess don't even get me started about Yeo Woon. I could write a book. My fave. YSH shone in that role---the script was wobbly and the end was terrible, but unlike Ruler Master of the Mask, where the script was flawed from the beginning, WBDS had some high moments and good characterizations and went to hell with plotholes all over the place--and like too many dramas, ended hurriedly with no proper resolution. I was fed up with Ruler from the get-go because the mask concept, while interesting, was so poorly executed---I mean, the super tall bodyguard wore it and wasn't recognized as a different person? This could work onstage, has worked as a device in Shakespeare, but even as a sageuk fantasy--I was just not buying any of it in Ruler. No amount of pretty scenery or good casting could make up for the script. Sometimes I wonder how many good scripts there really are out there, how many of them are ruined by directors during production, and if we can really blame actors and agencies for their choices. in this case with YSH though, I definitely want to support his life choices and with him happiness, I definitely want to see his talents onscreen again, but it seemed a no-brainer for me to go with a THIRD rom com? WHY PICK A ROM COM SCRIPT WITH SO MANY CLICHES? Does he really want to establish himself as a romantic lead? I don't know. Is being in the body of a girl and playing girly (I'm already wincing at sexist stereotypes) really going to do that? There are so many red flags about this choice.
  3. I like the first episode. I am surprise at how the two leads are so honest about their relationship status so early on. This is a good sign. So far Ji Min's character is a strong independent woman. I am glad she told her dad to back off about marriage. Hopefully her character remains the same. Gi Seok is a good boyfriend so far for defending his gf in front of his dad but I don't see much love and spark in their interactions. He just said "she's a good girl." Not quite sure how to think about him yet
  4. Hi. Personally, I drink a special herbal tea, that relaxes my muscles, so I feel comfortably in my bed at night. By the way, there is the fact, that pain in our back occurs due to muscle tension. Personally, I began drinking tea before I sleep, because I read the article www.420highstreet.org and I found out, that kratom leaves relax muscles of our body. Due to it I got rid of backache, furthermore, my mood has improved, so I feel full of energy
  5. I hate you, I love you I hate that I love you Don't want to, but I can't put Nobody else above youI hate you, I love youI hate that I want youYou want her, you need her And I'll never be her @Sejabin let’s sing some songs. Do you know a song named I hate you I love you? Somehow everytime I saw that you ‘hate’ KJW, i thought of this song lol 750
  6. Your are not , speaking from someone that enjoy her fluffy moment @triplem this girl is crazy After she scare him She suddenly turn all shy & red - @Sarang21
  7. I'm so so sorry @iffy21 sorry!!! didn't mean to paste that link here to spoil your mood. I posted it here because I was pissed that this reporter is just picking on her in the midst of all the positive feedback, as if he/she is trying to be special and writing a hate report on her. Don't be upset dear! Hyesun is an excellent actress that we all love, so you and me feel upset when people bash on her unreasonably. It's not as if we didn't expect any negativity right? Just read, be upset for a while, then forget it and move on . Don't let this spoil your day. Fighting everyone! Love all of you and Hyesun.
  8. Latest news : his korean fans are about to send an email to his agency for plea. The big issue is some scenes in the webnovel . And they highly dislike his character Im trying to understand but it's hard. Can anyone find the webtoon and post it here? Im just shaking my head and I don't know what to think too. What is he trying to prove? He know Ruler was really bad, he read the reactions and online comments. Indeed he is always on the list of actors who are bad at picking dramas. I can already forsee the incoming bad feedback about his pick.
  9. 748. @nohamahamoud2002 back to Roda x Jinsang a bit lol. I think worth mentioning that Roda did sacrifice her life without blink, just for him. I do agree she seems hella confusing indeed at some point haha... Oh how i miss that drama @triplem make me realized i prefer unspoken word of love.
  10. “I hate you I love you I hate that I want you,you want her, you need her and I will never be her.” I hate you I love you
  11. Don’t worry dear . You are wise beyond your years . In fact most of the time the only thing I’m keen to talk about is abs and my oppas. In that respect I may be less of an adult than you ! @Sejabin I think I might be having a mini crush on your oppa . In Absolute BF , I think he’s got the most potential for the storyline . And I caught myself watching all his cuts on KBS world for his current weekender - ok I can’t really feel the chemie btwn him & the FL ( I actually like the actress ) , the age gap does feel big & visually it’s not quite there for me ( Miss Shallow here ) , but he’s adorable. @Ameera Ali waves . I think I wanna make a gif of KYK for my DP using the scene which @nohamahamoud2002 just posted above . Gahhh I love the man . The blind Brother is such a sweetheart too ...but the lil sis needs a smacking. @Lawyerh eps 14 - strangle me now ...WAH they are going all out melodrama is it ??? 746
  12. I think we will start to get the romance we all wanted from the start for the next episodes since they are working together now. It also seems like se yeon will fall for him first. Regarding in the ownership of the abyss I don't think that young chul has to die first so before it will go back to cha min I think cha min has just to get his hands on the abyss and he will be the owner again. It was said in the rule that "temporary" I think it means "you'll have it until the real owner gets it back". Because if it really means that young chul has to die first then they won't get the abyss till the last episode lol.
  13. @dolley yes they responded, and as I said in DM to you, asked you to correct me if I'm wrong about the IG kicking bc the subject is very very sensitive to them. Hahaha proven indeed. Another sensitive subject is Li Yi Feng, and Wookie's Chinese fans are still so angry with us until now. Well they should know the other Wook helps DH and Wookie reputation at least to Yi Feng's fans. Btw what so special about our shipper thread, every corner come here. Ok back to Wookie, such generous Wookie.
  14. @lu09i am sure chinggu that jeong in's mother is the opposite of the role she acted in SITR. Actually i hated her there lol. But i have watched her in other dramas and she can be the real opposite. I think jeong in's father is the one who will be hated here lol LJI is a strong woman and very opinionated as we can see her. She really is standing up to her father. She wants a different marriage as she already have seen what happened to her older sister. @tok-soompiThat scene to call the cops is embarrasing and quite funny lol. Ji min has these facial expressions that i really love. Looking forward to episode 2 Off to watching episode 1 again before checking episode 2. I hope my livestream works this time.
  15. The least fav character that Jiwonn played in dramas ??? Huh ??!! ...at the beginning I don't liked to much Jang Se Jin - School 2... but little by little after I began to understand her , the motif of her behavior... and somehow I empathized with her after awhile I'm with you @strwbrry and @drakelaw ...my fav character is Hang Ah too. Hahaaha @drakelaw ...great dream It was a time when they were close friends or ...who knows more then that but that's all ...Jiwonn romance life is like a black hole ...a total mystery
  16. I am waiting for Ep 2 and watching both Ep 1 and 2 together. But the ratings does make me want to watch Ep 1 immediately. Argghhh.... I need to be disciplined and resist!
  17. He is too good to be true... Can't take my eyes off him too... You're not alone... I hate him too @Sejabin... very much 744
  18. Other than getting a copy of the magazine of Ryan, helping Ryan to overcome his obstacles will be her birthday wish.
  19. May 22, 2019 Director Bong Joon-ho: stairs are a key metaphor in 'Parasite' CANNES, France, May 22 (Yonhap) -- South Korean auteur Bong Joon-ho said Wednesday that stairs serve as a key metaphor for hierarchical social status and materialism in his Cannes-nominated black comedy "Parasite." "Nearly 90 percent of the story takes place in a big house, the home of the rich family. It has a vertical structure -- second floor, first floor and basement," the director said at an official press conference for the 72nd Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, southern France. "Each space is connected by stairs. Our staff jokingly called our work a 'stair movie.'" In this photo provided by AFP, South Korean director Bong Joon-ho (4th from R) and the cast of "Parasite" pose during a photocall at the 72nd edition of the Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, southern France, on May 22, 2019. (Yonhap) The film, which premiered Tuesday night at Cannes, revolves around the poor family of Ki-taek who live in a squalid, grubby basement. They get involved in a string of mishaps after the sly son gets a job as a tutor for a moneyed family residing in an opulent, gaudy mansion. It is Bong's second attempt to win the Palme d'Or in the main competition section, following the action-adventure film "Okja" in 2017. The 49-year old director said he took the concept of stairs from old Korean classic movies like "The Housemaid" by Kim Ki-young in 1960. Vertical structures typically symbolize social hierarchy in cinema, but Bong said the structures in "Parasite" are even more special because of indigenous subterranean residential spaces called "semi-basements." "In South Korea, the semi-basement has subtle nuances," he said. "(People) live underground, but want to believe that they are above the ground because they have a moment when sunlight comes into their room." He said "Parasite" begins with a scene in which the sun lights up Ki-taek's filthy semi-basement home as if his family are not yet living below-the-surface lives. "But at the same time, they are afraid of falling into a complete underground situation if they get worse," he said. "This is the ingenious point my movie has." The director is known for his socially conscious films like "The Host," "Snowpiercer" and "Okja." He described himself a genre movie director who doesn't like to follow the rules of genre films. "Korean genre films have experienced stellar development in the 2000s," he said. "They have made a stab at blending Korean political situations, personal anguish and Korean history." Actor Song Kang-ho plays the role of Ki-taek, the father of the destitute family. It is his fourth time working with the director -- he previously apeared in "Memories of Murder," "The Host" and "Snowpiercer." "As a screenwriter and director, he has wielded his great insight into society in every movie," Song said of the director. "I think 'Parasite' is about what Bong the artist wants to communicate." brk@yna.co.kr
