On Red Velvet's "Dumb Dumb"

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

"I propose that "Dumb Dumb" is far from simple, cute, or quirky. Rather, "Dumb Dumb" is a complicated musical and visual performance that aims to reach Michael Jackson-level pop art perfection... immediately accessible, slightly insane, and wholly enjoyable." (from my essay A, B, C, Dumb Dumb...)

I have been listening to K-Pop for about a year, though essentially isolated from other K-Pop fans. In that year, Red Velvet's "Dumb Dumb" stood out to me as an especially brilliant example of good pop music, K-Pop or otherwise. Check out my essay if you want to know my full thoughts on "Dumb Dumb." It features Aristotle, Busby Berkeley, Cicero, and of course, "Dumb Dumb." If you would like to leave a comment or have a question for me, feel free to post/ask. Please keep comments/questions relevant and respectful :) Thanks!
