I love Ning Que's deep voice too, it's very sexy...he has a similar deep voice like Kris Wu...very sexy.

Anywayh the next Ning Que better have the same deep voice...it's part of the package,:-)

I'm looking forward to how they handle Mo Shan Shan, Ning Que and Sang Sang love triangle..well it's not really a triangle...

Hi @angelangie  You are right , we can’t be angry about Mo ShanShan. I think she is cute and she looks a lot like Sang Sang if SS was the same age as MSS.

I have now watched episode 21-22 three times today.

@Wotad

Spoiler

I wonder if our chingu @le3jong is talking about LQ’s sword looking golden and very fake as he stab the woman he loves.

Now I don’t think LQ loves the Flower Addict at all. When he stabbed her , he was like bye FELICIA. smh smh. I am quite bothered by the fact that LQ Kees insisting on liking Sang Sang. I wonder if he is doing that to pisse NQ off or he really is interested in SS.

NQ looked ready to kill him when he said that.

I'm not disliking her in a bad way, just my inner fangirling always take any kind of threats to OTP in a protective way. Lol.

Of course its a good thing for NQ to grow up and realize his feeling but then its also not fair to SS. Just kind wish that SS was able to experience some sort of relationship with someone else than NQ too as she's always stuck with him. He goes got to hang out with his colleges while she always home. I wanted her to experience the world by herself a bit too and not just see it thru NQ's eyes.

Spoiler

But I'm guessing that part will happen when she runs away from him?

i guess MoShanShan in between the two of them actually open up their inner feeling....

as both had been together for too long for them to know whether they are together because of family bonding or because it was more than that....

it was suppose to be from NingQue first which was why he stop SangSang from giving him back scrubs.....as in olden days it doesnt matter if the servant girl scrub the master back they just take it for granted.....

Guys , I am so obsessed with this drama, here I am watching episode 22 with limited subtitles. What is wrong with me and still enjoying it. Lol lol. Please make me stops... please stop me

@angelangie @celebrianna For MoShanShan she needs to come in the picture because to be honest. Ning Que spent his entire life working and trying to survive. He is going to school, cultivating, meeting people and traveling.

He needs to meet people who are just as intellectual as him and getting the chance to let Sang Sang find herself to without him. I think NingSang needs to evolve instead of remaining the same. It is good to change because you become stronger and are able to protect yourself and loved ones better. He said it himself he needs to be stronger to protect Sang Sang. He also need allies that way he can protect her more. What do you guys think??,

Sigh! Do not worry. I think it must  be common. I am so obsessed too. I started with watching the Thai sub. Then it was so long. i cannot wait. So I went for English sub starting with the completed sub ones. I cannot wait again, so watch them raw and bought  18 books of the Thai translated novel so I can know the story. Now my addiction is more severe, I am reading the English translated ones on webnovel.

The next would be trying to machine translatedthe Chinese ones. (Accutally, I tried but it not work well, I warn you. :tounge_xd:.

I am hopelessly addicted to it.

I am so in love with Ning Queand SangSang

Both of them are perfect for their roles.

I'd say NQ does not "love" MSS yet, but indeed he likes her. The book does write a bit about his interest in the opposite sex (bar SS initially), after all he is still a teenager with raging hormones haha...

Spoiler

There was even a part when he read classical porn hehe...

Actually, I think MSS even

Spoiler

Withdrew gracefully from the potential relationship with NQ because MSS seems to realise the bond between NQ-SS without NQ explaining it. In the book, there was a part when NQ took preemptive strike against LQ because LQ mentioned SS. NQ's inner thoughts revealed that people were mistaken when they think SS is his lifeline/weakness. To NQ, SS is his life. So threats against SS is like threats against his own life, thus he must take measures to kill that threat.

@UnniSarah @rhaps Thanks for the information.

Spoiler

I think I wasn’t clear on what I meant so I wanted to clarify. What I meant to say is I hope the drama writer doesn’t make it seem like NQ suddenly developed romantic feelings for Sang Sang without developing that growth in his feelings. Clearly Sang Sang adores him as her family and I can actually see that turning into romantic love because of the way her world centers around NQ.

However, from what I heard of the story, NQ meets a beautiful intelligent girl who he probably admires deeply and so it’s easy to see him becoming enamored by her and fall for her. Therefore, assuming there are no social hindrances to them getting together, it’s important to understand why NQ let such a love go and I hope it’s not because he feels obligated towards Sang Sang. That’s what I originally meant by a wishy washy conclusion to the romantic plot, not for NQ/MSS but NQ/SS.

@celebrianna, i have same concerns as you. Book SS and NQ is different from tv SS and NQ. Book SS is quite serious and quiet. Tv version is very cute and lovable. It also has a different vibe with the comedic sound track in the background. But the novel is not a romance novel. There is hardly any romantic scenes, although sometimes the characters say things that touches the core of the reader's heart. So the feels is definitely there.

@dzareth, in the drama there are clearly some distinct romantic development like between LQ and the flower addict although I’m not sure if that will last. And we of course see some cheek kisses in the opening or ending sequences so I guess they will incorporate some romance for drama viewers. Mostly what I have seen so far is not much romance and I am fine with that but I suppose most epic like stories still do nicely with a bit of romance.

From the novel. NQ always love SS. It  was already like old couple relationship. She is his life. He does not feel obligate to her he just cannot live without her.

So when he realized that there is only obvious choice.

MSS can never compete and she knows it even before he knows it himself.

I would like to add that NQ and SS was already like and old couple since the begining.

He works to get income for the family and give all the money to her. She manages the household and taking care of everything for him, dressing, etc. They share their thought and consult each other for very problems.  NQ has never let anyoneekse beside SS to know his true self, background etc.

So MSS has no way to compete.

I agree. I've read half the book and I must say I like the book SS-NQ more since I can understand their relationship more as well as their inner thoughts. Perhaps because Mao Ni is not a romance writer, so romance in the book is not explicitly implied and we can only read between the lines. That's okay for me. Some lines still make me grin like a fool.

In the drama, SS looks head-over-heels towards NQ but in the book, she's not like that. Like @dzareth said she's serious and quiet. Even when MSS came in the picture, there's no outburst/jealousy in SS, but we know from her action - leaving NQ - that she's unhappy.

NQ-MSS has not met yet right? So it'll be next week? I only watched the clips of the love triangle.

NQ towards MSS in the book is also different compare to NQ and MSS in the drama.
Not sure if I get this wrong, but NQ in the drama seems more active in returning MSS's feeling, while in the book, he's as cool as cucumber - interested yes but not thaat interested. MSS is the active one in this relationship.

Maybe because this is the drama version, so everything has to be dramatic! The infatuation, the jealousy, the pull and push. :sweatingbullets:

That's why whenever I watch the clips of their love triangle, I feel so sad for drama SS. I know that MSS is a phase that NQ has to go through but I prefer the book version than the drama. At least in the book version, I feel comforted reading NQ's thoughts and know that he missed SS and neutral towards MSS; whereas in the drama.. it doesnt feel that way.

I think the real love test was when she became Hade's child n everyone was after her.

From the novel, Mo Shan Shan realized how much Sangsang meant to Ning Que because of his chicken soup calligraphy and he always talked about his "my sang sang" to MSS, so she knew from the very beginning Sangsang was more than just his maid. I didn't like that despite MSS knowing first how he felt about Sangsang, she still told him she likes him and asked if he likes her too...of course stupid NQ said yes because he like her differently from the other girls. And that's because MSS active chase him...whereas in the drama based on the clips, NQ and MSS mutually like each other and are more affectionate! Did u see them hugging each other! Sangsang even asked MSS to marry NQ...I don't remember reading that in the book... unless if that was something that happened later in the novel.

@UnniSarah, you’re so right. This week’s episodes are so enjoyable.

Spoiler

It seems to me as though all the brothers and sisters were pleased that NQ became the choice for Fu Zi’s student. NQ really has his strengths. I like how intelligent and practical he is. And dare I say he has wisdom probably from all he has been through and I hope that wisdom will continue to increase. I loved all his references to SS that shows how integral a part of his life and thinking she is. I mean, she’s #1 on his list of three things to keep moving forward. Even his answers to Fu Zi speaks about her. His subsequent trial literally personified SS in physical appearance though not in thoughts and personality. I learned a few things about SS just in his debate with that trial...that SS disdainfully calls him master and that she wouldn’t let him near any money...lol..although I did get a hint of that from the “silver as totem” scene.

LQ is brain dead. I’m very much convinced. The error is so obvious in his thinking and his pride. How is he convinced he’s light and he thinks so much evil? His judgment is upside down. He said that everyone is unworthy of his reverence except the Heavens but he said it in a way to imply that he’s more worthy than everyone. I’m really surprised by his evident conceit when I really didn’t notice it in Xiling. The abrupt change seem so odd to me.

It seems like the drama is showing that darkness is light and light is darkness. It made me wonder for the first time why the show is called Ever/Eternal Night which have been mentioned several times in the drama.

I dont think people should really be focused on comparing the book and show they are just different and people shouldn't assume something before even seeing episodes.

The drama obviously has to be different because they cant show inner thoughts and go into as much detail. How the romance between NQ and MSS turns out in the drama really shouldn't matter as long as the end game stays true.

I actually prefer drama changes based on what people said above if SS was cold and kept everything inside i wouldn't like her as much.
