  1. TVXQ and JYJ Sex Surveys Are Here!

Hi, I'm Spidey. For those of you who didn't read my last post about these surveys, I'm an independent scholar writing a book on masculinity and male sexuality in K-pop that focuses on TVXQ and JYJ. I created some surveys with pointed questions about sexual attractiveness, shipping, and whether any member of TVXQ or JYJ is LGBT+. How the surveys will be used: Survey answers will be used throughout the book to summarize ideas, support or refute arguments, or to drive further inquiry (academic speak for “further investigate a topic”). What I Need: What I need is for people to complete the survey of at least 1 (preferably more!) TVXQ and/or JYJ member. If some of you were to do all 5, that would be, in the words of SHINee, “Fantastic, Fantastic, Fantastic, Fantastic” and would help me out a lot. Who Can Take It: Everybody. I want representation from all corners of the fandom, from TV2Q and JYJ3 stans to OT5s to Jaefans, Xiahpwas, Chunsas, etc. Even people from other fandoms can take these surveys as long as they follow the Golden Rule. Golden Rule: ANSWER THE QUESTION. You can write as much as you want on any topic as long as you answer the question. If you want to write about Changmin or Yunho’s armpits, you can. If you DON’T want to write about Yunjae, you DON’T HAVE TO. If you’re not sure what a question is asking, please don’t hesitate to ask me for clarification. For the open-ended questions, you don’t need to fill in the entire box; just write enough so that I can get an accurate picture of your view. Please tell anybody who might be interested. You can also repost the survey links on Tumblr (I haven’t been able to penetrate that site), Ao3, etc. I've already posted the links on Twitter with the account @YourSpidey7. I need as many people to take these surveys as possible! The first round of surveys are due on May 5-6, 2018. Then the links will change and I’ll repost them on this thread. And without further ado, here are the links! Yunho: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/yunho Changmin: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/changmin Jaejoong: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/jaejoong Junsu: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/xiajunsu Yoochun: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/yoochun
  2. DBSK/TVXQ/JYJ Survey Takers Needed!

I’m an independent scholar writing a book on masculinity and male sexuality in K-pop focusing on DBSK/TVXQ/JYJ (I will write about other groups, but DBSK/TVXQ/JYJ will be the main focus). I would like to know if any of you would be interested in answering a few surveys about the members (both past and present). The surveys will mainly consist of short and long answer questions. I plan on releasing the surveys through a link early next year, but hopefully no later than April 2018. Some example questions: Do you ship any couple in the DBSK/TVXQ/JYJ fandom? Please explain in what ways (sexually, romantically, emotionally, platonically, all of the above, etc) do you ship them and why. Are you sexually attracted to any current or former DBSK member(s)? If yes, please explain why they are sexually attractive to you. (There will also be a corresponding question for romantic and emotional attraction.) Do you think, suspect, and/or believe that any of the current or past members of DBSK are part of the LGBT+ community? If yes, please explain why. The questions are designed to make all fandoms and sub-fandoms (TVXQ, TV2Q, JYJ, JYJ3, Jaeharem, Chunsas, DB5K, OT5, Xiahpwa, etc) feel included and welcome. I am looking for responses from all corners of the fandom, from the diehard Yunjae shipper to the ARMY who watches TVXQ, DBSK, or JYJ videos but doesn’t consider themselves a Cassie. So if you’re interested in participating, please reply with a positive response below so I can get a count. Feel free to ask questions as well. Thanks! ~Spidey A little about me: I became a fan of DBSK in 2009 and continued to support all five after the split. Other non-K-pop fandoms I am a part of: J-pop, X-Men (comics, TV shows, and movies), anime, Spiderman (the 1967 and 1990s TV shows; I stopped reading the newspaper comics a while ago), Scooby-Doo (TV shows only).
  3. Aside from Allkpop or Koreaboo, what websites of K-pop or K-drama do you guys think are good enough? Which is not as big as Allkpop and Koreaboo but still reliable enough, either it's about general K-entertainment or the specific groups/ singers, can you guys recommend some?

AVEX (prior company in Japan) has to pay 7.8 million KRW to CJES (JYJ agency) and in addition, pay 1.1 million KRW to CJES CEO (a punishment for defaming CJES CEO). Essentially, JYJ is now free to resume it's activities in Japan... But...AVEX appealed. As we all know...JYJ is still not truly free to promote and do activities in Japan. They are supposed to be but there are still 'invisible' blocks along the way. But at least, they can hold concerts and sell the albums and show their dramas... Promotion may still be lacking but JYJ remains popular in Japan no matter what. And fans have been so loyal and supportive that anything JYJ touches is Golden in Japan. We have learned that CJES/JYJ and AVEX have finally settled the case... But details have been under wraps (as I am writing this)...Stay tuned... Kim Jaejoong started his Your My & Mine fanmeeting and mini concerts in January 2013 as well and he was asked by reporters (knowing how popular he is in Japan) if he's going to hold a fm/mini con in Japan now that he can... He said that he would rather have JYJ come back as a trio first, knowing that fans have been waiting for all three of them... Sure enough, "The JYJ Return to Tokyo Dome" concerts were announced shortly after that!!! But more on this epic comeback later on... ***JYJ as Ambassadors*** In February 20, 2013, JYJ was appointed as honorary ambassadors for the 2014 Incheon Asiad Games. JYJ is to help promote the Games through appearances and music video throughout Asia. And at long last, we get to hear a new JYJ song (albeit a sports event anthem...but we will take it!). The JYJ Magazine...volume 2 Released July 2013...JYJ talks about love, friendship, and future... On July 12, C-Jes Entertainment stated, “The upcoming magazine theme will be ‘friends’ and will show JYJ’s friendship in photos with the JYJ members’ thoughts on what friends are and personal experiences.” Yes...we all know SoMeonE was behind all this unfairness and 'closed doors' towards JYJ... The government has found SM and others guilty back in July 2013 and yet, we are still not seeing JYJ on broadcast TV... JJ was shown when he performed in the Arirang event but no music or variety show promotions at all... Junsu was not invited on Radio Star TV program to promote December (the Director and a lead actress were there along with another actor who performs Junsu's role when Junsu is not performing)...still blatant blockage going on... JYJ Stands On Stage As a Whole During 2015 Pop Culture and Arts Awards JiwonYu October 29, 2015 All three JYJ members have stood on stage as a whole during the 2015 Pop Culture and Arts Awards! As previously hinted, JYJ fans were hoping that members Junsu, Jaejoong, and Yoochun would perform together for this award ceremony. Although they did not sing together, all three did attend the event and receive their Prime Minister’s Award. C-Jes Entertainment stated, “JYJ is the first-ever idol group to receive a Prime Minister’s Award. All three attended the event and thanked their fans. They received this award because JYJ has been promoting for over 10 years and spread K-pop, K-drama, Korean musicals, and Korean films worldwide.” This was the first time in seven months that JYJ got together, after Jaejoong’s military enlistment in March. Many domestic and international fans also came to the event to support them. During their award speech, JYJ said, “Thank you so much for inviting us to this honorable event and giving us this meaningful award. It’s been a while since the three of us have officially attended an event together. We will continue to work hard to spread the Korean culture.” Watch their speech below!
