  1. JH's mother is fully aware of her son's love for SH. She intentionally sought out a secret meeting with SH without talking with JH or her husband knowing full well that they would object. She is no different than any of the mothers in her desire to have things as she wants. She talked about how the neighbors view her. She is more concerned with saving face and being embarrassed than her son's happiness. Her son is wearing a band which she observed, as well as the band on SH's hand. JH is the mother's favored son. She is my opinion threatened by the class difference and the fact that her son has a true and deep love for another person. She is not as evolved and self assured as the rest of the family who are willing to support JH at all costs even it causes them some discomfort because they recognize JH's true and unwavering love for SH. JH's mom while good and pure is also selfish in her desire to have her son live the life she chooses for him that would not disrupt her life. She is also intimidated by what SH represents. I do believe SH and HJ will weather this hurdle and that HJ's mom will ultimately accept the relationship because HJ will not give up on his soul mate and true love.
  2. The most poignant scene in episode 10 was the grandmother writing the note to DH stating she could rest in peace when she sleeps knowing JA has someone as kind as DH by her side. JA is street smart and tough but the grandma knows that she is hurting and has no one to truly love and care for her but herself. I don't think grandma sees DH as a love interest but a truly decent man willing to look out for JA without wanting anything in return. I think grandma is staying alive to protect JA, while JA does all she can to take care of grandma without having basic knowledge of handling the difficulties she has faced dealing with legal problems and care of an elderly indigent family member. DH is lucky to have a supportive family and community and he wants JA to know she lives in that community and has that same network.
  3. I loved the drama. I have not seen it subbed yet but I think the message is that women are strong, capable ambitious and successful but a balanced life is important. Relationships add value to one's life. True valuable relationships are built on love, trust, honesty and openness. Relationships are not built on using one another for greed, ambition, or vanity. Jealousy, mistrust, confrontations and day to day problems happen in any marriage but deception, half truths and denial will not foster a sustaining healthy relationship. I like the fact that our lead actress was not a meek, clueless female but a complicated flawed human who was exceptional at what she did professionally. HR is not every female, but she represents a large segment of women in the world. Is this drama misogynistic? If anything it portrayed men in a negative light. Rushing in an protecting the female like she does not have brains of her own. Women can think, run corporations, be housewives or not, love who they want and have children and families too if they choose. Life is complicated. Can't wait to see it subbed.
  4. TW has admitted to HR that he killed Kevin but I am not so sure. I think he is still in protection mode for HR. HR is a troubled soul and there is more to her involvement in the Jewelry Store Owners death and Kevin’s death. There is a flashback showing her dropping the bloody knife without blood stains on her. This is before MW went in and stabbed the owner. I believe MW ultimately killed the owner but there was an incident involving HR that she has repressed. I truly feel she has mental health issues affecting her memory and her perception of herself. Neither TW or HR are truly honest with one another or themselves. They both place saving face above open communication. MW is scary and totally a nut job. Total obsession with a woman for 19 years is just slam crazy. Without his involvement in HR’s life the owner may have been injured but not killed and HR would not have lived as a wounded woman all of her adult life while appearing as a to amazing, trailblazing woman anchor. MW is not just spouting words I believe he is capable of killing Eun Joo, but was it MW that beat up HR’s reporter friend. There is something amidst in all of this. Blaming TW is too easy. But how did that brooch get in Kevin’s car. Is there another man obsessed with HR capable of killing for her or who wants her to suffer for not loving him?
