"Sometimes we laugh and easily cry" "Alright..it's the..it's the end" "Is this really true?" (x3) It's already past 5 a.m. I will share my review on the finale and overall drama later after I have been deeply analyzing and organizing my thoughts. However, I am impressed with the final scene that shows the briefing about academic coaching and Kim Joo Young (the real one or metaphorical figure). The world still runs like usual. The main family in the drama may change, but it does not mean everything has changed. We should not expect changes occur drastically just because of a drama, book or figure. What matters is our beliefs and manifestation in our social circle. Changes begin with ourselves, then our family and friends. We have to keep our idealism for bigger picture of change in society, but at the same time being realistic in order to survive in this challenging world.

The most touching scene in this episode for me is Woo-Joo's outburst when Seo Jin and Joon Sang came to apologize. His dad wisely advises him to just do whatever feels right for him and do what his heart tells him. I am quite surprised when Joo Young asked Seo Jin at the end whether she is sure that she will not regret it, then asking "do you think you had nothing to do with her death?". What a final cliffhanger and preview/epilogue, then we will have to wait for about a week before final episode. We have been shown that it is extremely difficult for people to change. We can reflect it to ourselves for other traits and characters. Some of us may hope that Prof. Cha will change and re-unite with his family. Personally, whether it is going to happen or not, it is more important for us to learn about it. Hopefully the finale will be strong to convey its messages and leave deep and long-lasting impression to the viewers. "We are happy living without you" "You're the most pitiful of us all. You're an utter failure. You're rock bottom. zero marks" "Why is that a must? Why should I think like you?" "If you wanted it that much. you should've gone to med school" p/s: Since Korean team has lost to Qatar in quarter-final match, then final episode may be broadcast on Friday. Edit: Epilogue/preview on JTBC's youtube page stated that it will air on Friday, Feb 1.

Final episode of “SKY Castle” to be broadcast next week due to AFC Asian Cup match Changes have been announced in the broadcasting schedule for the final two episodes of “SKY Castle.” Previously, episode 19 was scheduled to air on January 25, and the finale was scheduled to air on January 26. However, changes have been made due to the 2019 AFC Asian Cup, which JTBC has exclusive coverage rights for in Korea. On January 22, Korea won 2:1 in the round of 16 against Bahrain. As a result, the team will be advancing to the quarterfinals, and the next match against Qatar will be on January 25 at 10 p.m. KST. As “SKY Castle” begins at 11 p.m. KST, it will be unable to air on January 25. Episode 19 will now air on January 26. The air date of the finale will be on February 1 or 2, depending on the Korean team’s performance in the upcoming rounds. If the Korean team advances to the final scheduled on Feb 1, "SKY Castle” finale will be broadcast on February 2. Source: Soompi
  7. No improvement from her W. Hence, not looking forward to this writer's work anymore, except if it received pretty good reviews from various sources after it have ended. That's all my review for this drama.

"Until when you will be obsessed with what people think of you?" is the highlight of episode 18 for me. I think Joon Sang made the best choice to resign and advise Seo Jin to make a choice whether to reveal the truth and keep their pride or keep being greedy instead of revealing it himself. It is annoying when Prof Cha demands Seung Hye to write 10 A4 pages apology letter with font 11, but she is wise to take it as her regret to think that broken people can be fixed and changed. Joon Sang's mom and him are the only ones who are blind and crazy about position and status, but the former show her realization of what her son want when he said "Can I just be your son?" while the latter first reaction to the his wife's letter is "Mid-term exams is just around the corner, so they can't waste time even for a second". As much as I dislike Seo Jin, I can see her inner conflicts, and hence she realizes about his husband's advice that Ye Suh and her life are different. Do Ye Suh actually really want to get enrolled into SNU herself or she is no different from her dad's conditioning? Do Seo Jin want her daughter to be admitted really because of Ye Suh's future or is it because of her greedy? Even if it is latter, she was groomed to become like that by Joon Sang and his mom, like what he said that they both have been living wrongly. That's why this is the cliffhanger as she is handed with the mid-term exams paper, what is her choice? Will she choose to stop and cure this long-lasting cycle of disease in society from her family or to justify her situation as a victim and don't think it is something worth to do? After all, she comes from so-called "low class" people, hence her choice is major arc of the story. Argh, counting days before next episode come. Also, it will be final week already!

Started watching this two days ago and already caught up to episode 17. Really good one to replace Children of Nobody. The good thing with this drama is the comedic relief of Prof Cha and Dr. Woo's family, hence it is not too dark and depressing. It is matter of who is lesser evil and those who admit and repent for their mistakes. His conversation with his mom in the hotel cafe shows that how he has been living.
  11. Onto the interview with Lee Yi-kyung [OSEN, StarNews], translated version, source from here. Q: RMBS ended after hard work in the story as well as actors' acting wise. Lee: Among all the projects I've worked, time flied the quickest with this project. When I told Kim Sun-ah sunbae-num, she said time past really fast for her too. I prepared reading the scripts so much that pages torn apart, and I had lots of advice from Sun-ah sunbae. It was a project I had so much affection and efforts. I thought I am the type who can step out well from the character I play, but I couldn't this time. Director-nim also said "You are just Kang Ji-heon." Q: How did you take on the role in this project? Lee: I have comical image to the public because I've played some comically strong characters in the past. I received the RMBS scripts at the time I was confused thinking if I was fit for funny characters because many people said so. I was in Paris for filming "Borderless Food Cart" and I read the scripts on my cell. I was not confident. I had fear trying this new character thinking I lacked to digest the role with doubts if I could do well. I discussed with people in my company- I said if they make Waikiki 2, I should do that first, but they said I could show more in the process of going forward for bigger picture. We talked a lot about what I can do and what I should do. I think I was the most sensitive when I did this project. I had to prepare a lot for filming and mentally prepared to have many hateful comments. Considering that, I had happy ending. Q: You left strong impression to the viewers playing Kang Ji-heon who felt hesitation to punish the murderer Red Cry at the end, showing complicated side of the character while portraying the image of ideal and rules-abiding detective. Lee: The comments made me the happiest were "I feel that real detective like him exists.", "He is a real detective.". I think this is the beginning. It gave me confidence. There is uncertainty whatever I do since there is no answer and no good/bad in acting characters. Q: Were you disappointed at ratings which stayed in 5%, considering how hard you've worked giving emotional acting? Lee: Maybe I am an optimistic person. Although there were strong dramas like "Boyfriend" and "Last Empress" at the same time slot, we could keep the mania fans without wavering in ratings. If ratings went down even just once, or if it fluctuated, I would feel conflicted, but I was glad it kept 5-6% to the end. Sun-ah sunbae-nim said "You will not regret doing this project. Didn't I tell you our project is good?" which eased my mind. Q: I feel you were the mood maker on the set. Lee: I tried to make the atmosphere happy with the thought "you don't laugh because you are happy, you are happy because you laugh". Filming was tight and there were loads of things to prepare due to its genre and the schedule for broadcast preponed, so everyone had hardships. I took upon "playing cute" part and Sunah sunbae-nim laughed a lot. I was grateful when she said "I want to meet Yi-kyung in the next project too." Q: What help did you get from Kim Sun-ah who played Woo-kyung? Lee: When I tried to understand my character I discussed with Sun-ah sunbae-nim the most. Before filming started whenever I felt confused or couldn't find the likelihood, I called her like at 4am and talked about my character for 1-2 hours at least. I think I can't forget sunbae-nim went that far to help when she must've been busy playing her character. Q: As the show told heavy story throwing thoughtful messages about child abuse, it seemed not easy to attract new viewers in the middle of the show. Lee: First, the script itself was very difficult. It was not the script you could act after reading once or twice. Because it so hard when I read that I had to discuss a lot with director-nim and Sun-ah sunbae-nim. That was the part we paid the most attention, and we tried to act so that the viewers could accept more comfortably. The writing was very fun like a novel. But we had to realize it through acting. It was difficult process to portray the novel. As deliberating with Sun-ah sunbae-nim, there were times we acted after changing the order of conversation to make watching easier for the viewers. And the amounts of lines were overwhelming too. Q: How was acting with Cha Hak-yeon who played Eun-ho? Lee: I talked with director-nim about this also- he is very sincere person. About the part he prepared, he said "Hyung, how about this? How about matching up our lines?" We coordinated our lines together a lot. Since even with same script everyone shows different acting style. I like live style, and Hak-yeon likes to act exactly in the calculated situation, so it was fun harmonizing. He is a person with natural sense. I think I am blessed to know Hak-yeon. Even today I talked in the chat room. Q: What you two talked about? Lee: He thinks I am very fun. He says just seeing me kills him from laughing. His character ended early with his death, you know. So when I asked what he was doing, he sent the text "I am lying down now.", "I ordered the chicken delivery." with pretty selfi he took of himself. We spend every day having fun like that. We have group as well as personal chat room. Q: The identity of Red Cry was the main mystery. Did actors act without knowing? Lee: Nobody knew who Red Cry was. I only found out later when I saw the actor's name written on the schedule. Sun-ah sunbae-nim mentioned a few candidates and he was one of them. I felt that it was Sun-ah sunbae-nim. A few people asked me if I was Red Cry. I think director nim didn't tell us on purpose maybe because he thought it was better for us to act without knowing. Q: It must not have been easy acting carrying such heavy tone. Lee: I cry easily. I think Ji-heon would be the most painful character I've ever played and play. I had a few NG because I teared up acting. There was a scene in finale ep. RC was talking tapping the pen, and I was not supposed to cry. When filming I cried even with having nose run, so it made NG. I think I immersed in that scene the most. I still have lingering feeling that there are many things I want to ask writer-nim, but I wonder I should not ask if I want to step out from the drama quickly. Q: You must have gotten interested in the subject of child abuse. Lee: I've never had a chance to think about the matter. Since I don't have any child even though I have nephews. When I asked director nim he said there are even more terrible victim cases in real life.
  12. Not "their public channel" but "their subtitles for public channels". Since Viki has partnership with Kocowa, and Kocowa subbing SBS, MBC and KBS shows, all shows with subtitles from those three on Viki come from Kocowa (with "This content is provided by Kocowa" at the end of video).
  13. Their subtitles for public channel dramas are not done by volunteers, but the one who outsource to Kocowa (their partner) and VIU. All these three have exactly same subtitles. The only difference is VIU's subs have no line breaking. I re-watched it on OhK TV Asia channel and they use the word "hell". I handle withdrawal from this drama by watching SKY Castle, and already done catching up to latest episode in 2 days. It is indeed a good one to replace Children of Nobody. It will be real withdrawal to handle when it ends next week.
  14. OST album has been released with 34 tracks. You can listen to its preview here.
  15. Finally, it is really ended. It is sad but somehow feeling empty. There are not much things revealed in the final hour. Still applaud the writer for her work, and the casts for their great performance. I did not sleep early today due to some matters, so feeling so tired and sleepy right now. May write little bit review later.
  16. Yes, I think so too. The stepmom recalls SK's voice laughing in this episode while looking at the fireplace, thus she covered it with woods when WK came to visit her. So, the mystery of CWK's family seems to be almost fully revealed, and the final episodes to wrap up with RC case, and "mysterious" relationship between LEH and YTJ. Quite sad that it is going to end, looking forward the writer's next drama.
  17. I actually sleep early in the night for about 4 hours, then wake up around 1 am. However, it feels exhausting back after finished watching one-hour drama (this genre particularly). I think that JH shot him impulsively when EH pulled up the riffle back. That's why he seems shocked that he has not only shot him, but even the target made EH died so quickly. He feels guilty that he said that he played the scene so many times that he actually doubts that EH would actually shoot WK. I think it is either WK's testimony, or EH actually recorded the confession with WK's phone. Okay, time to sleep. Excited to watch the latest episodes in few hours.
  18. Just finished watching latest episodes. Dr. Yoon Tae Joo is Eun Ho's hyung? Didn't expect it coming. Feel bad to see JH and, the scene when he answers when recalling EH's words though.. EH: "You have no worries" JH: Whether I worry or not. How would you know?" I want to write more, but brain does not function well. Maybe because it is already approaching 4 a.m. However, happy to see others wrote what is in my mind. So it does not matter if I don't share myself.
  19. Caption: "Today's record, Jan 3, 2019: The unfinished story of Eun-Ho" This video is like tribute to our Eun-Ho, "icon" for children of nobody(?).
  20. When I re-watched the episode, I also got the feeling that his explanation about their deeds is not clear and convincing that he is the master mind. He may thinks that he should take the fall as the real one did right thing, hence the latter should not be arrested and punished. He may also hopes RC continues his work. Considering that we still have 3 episodes (6 mini-episodes), I think it is possible that the writer may want to surprise us especially those who "underestimate" her that she uses the same story-telling method of revealing the culprit. Huhu. Whatever path the story is going to take, I do not really mind. Her work is still impressing!
  21. Hi, first time posting in this thread. I really enjoy reading comments from all of you here. It has been a while since a drama makes me staying up in the night to watch it as soon as subtitles released. Just finished episode 25 & 26. What a roller coaster episode! "Do you know what real hell is like? The innocent child who trembled in fear stands before me with a murderous gaze threatening to kill me. That's real hell. Do you see that?" I really hope that he does not die! I replayed a few times to observe which part of him being shot, but it is not so clear, or perhaps purposely. It is so painful to watch such "tragic" character. Being abused physically and mentally, feeling lonely and no one understands him. He really needs to be comforted! That's why he has conflicts between what his heart and mind say after being persuaded by Woo-Kyung, leading to changes of his choice during final scene. The writing about revealing the culprit and his motivation takes almost the same route like "The Village: Achiara's Secret". "I am not a murderer. I saved the children." - Lee Eun Ho "I want them to be happy."- Kang Pil Sung Still enjoying the ride though. Yawning.. It's almost 4 a.m. Going to sleep now.
  22. Yes. I will update new episodes every Friday and Saturday, as subtitles released a day after broadcast on tvN Asia.
