  2. Cha Tae Hyun’s 3 Children To Appear On “2 Days & 1 Night” Winter Break Special TV/FILM Feb 2, 2019 by E. Cha Actor Cha Tae Hyun’s three adorable children will be returning to “2 Days & 1 Night”! On February 2, the KBS 2TV variety show released new photos from its upcoming winter break special. The next episode of the show will follow cast members Kim Joon Ho, Cha Tae Hyun, Kim Jong Min, Yoon Shi Yoon, Jung Joon Young, and Defconn as they travel to Yangpyeong in Gyeonggi Province. Accompanying the cast on their trip will be Cha Tae Hyun’s three children Cha Soo Chan, Cha Tae Eun, and Cha Soo Jin, who will be making their first appearance on the show in three years. The siblings, who last appeared on the show in 2016, reportedly stole the cast members’ hearts with their boundless energy and mischievous charm. Cha Soo Chan is said to have impressed the cast and crew with his caring side as he affectionately looked after his two younger sisters, while Cha Soo Jin made everyone smile with her adorable love for her father. Cha Tae Eun also came up with fun nicknames for the various cast members, such as “Sushi Uncle” for Kim Jong Min and “Egg Roll Uncle” for Defconn.
  3. Cha Tae Hyun Reveals Unexpected Story Behind His Son’s Appearance In “Scandal Makers” Jan 20, 2019 by K. Lew Cha Tae Hyun recently revealed that his son made an appearance in his hit film “Scandal Makers.” On the January 20 episode of KBS’s “2 Days & 1 Night,” the cast went on the first day of the “Gangwon Province Noodle Road” trip. During the episode, Kim Joon Ho, Cha Tae Hyun, and Yoon Shi Yoon headed towards a market in Gangwon province. As they drove, Kim Joon Ho asked how old Yoon Shi Yoon was, who answered that he was 34 years old (Korean reckoning). Cha Tae Hyun mentioned, “I was 34 years old when ‘Scandal Makers’ premiered.” Yoon Shi Yoon was surprised and commented, “Then you played the role of a father at my age.” The actor shared, “At the time, I was married and had a child, so I was easily able to do that kind of role. In the last scene of ‘Scandal Makers,’ Soo Chan [Cha Tae Hyun’s son] appears. The baby I’m holding in a commercial in the film is Soo Chan.” When asked if his son knew that he was in the movie, he answered, “He doesn’t. I haven’t shown it to him.” Kim Joon Ho made the others laugh by saying, “That was Soo Chan’s debut project.”
  4. New PD Of “2 Days & 1 Night” Reveals His Goals + Requests And Concerns Of Members TV/FILM Jan 14, 2019 by S. Park The new producing director (PD) behind KBS 2TV’s “2 Days & 1 Night” has shared the cast’s thoughts on the show’s changes. In December 2018, it was revealed that PD Yoo Il Yong would be stepping down from his position after seven years and that the show would now be led by PD Kim Sung. PD Kim Sung took the reins beginning with the January 6 episode where he sent the members to a remote area that didn’t appear on the GPS and prohibited the use of the car’s heater and tents while sleeping outdoors. The cast made viewers laugh by fighting back using the wilderness skills they had accumulated after being on the show for years. Comedian Lee Yong Jin also shined on the show as the new intern. This episode was a success and achieved a national average of 15.4 percent in viewership ratings. In a phone interview with Maeil Business Newspaper’s Star Today, PD Kim Sung shared his outlook on the show and revealed that he met with each member separately before the first day of filming. “At first, I wanted to have short conversations together, but it became long,” said the PD. “The members also were thinking a lot about ‘2 Days & 1 Night.’ I was thankful about that, and we talked about how we should go forward from here on out. I asked about their requests, and each of the members had different reactions.” He continued, “Kim Jong Min said he wished we would give him more ramen. Cha Tae Hyun said he hopes we will boldly do what we want to do. Jung Joon Young gave me many new ideas. Kim Joon Ho gave me many ideas for games. Defconn, who has the character of ‘Anxious Pig,’ was worried from the start when I asked him to meet up. When I asked him what he wants to do, he said that it is a trap and said the opposite of everything. Yoon Shi Yoon is a character who works hard, and he blamed himself for not being funny. I told him that there is no need to do that and that it may be burdensome to forcefully do things to be funny.” The PD joined the show as the associate producer on the second season. When asked if former main PDs Yoo Ho Jin and Lee Il Yong gave him advice, he replied, “The seniors both said the same thing. They said, ‘Do what you want to do,’ so I’m looking back to see what kind of person I am.” He added, “Yoo Ho Jin and Yoo Il Yong said that it would be difficult when I become the main PD and that I need more time to calmly look back at myself. They said that I need to think about what I think is fun and use that to create the program in order to make it more full and fun. I can’t do it exactly as how someone else did it. There is criticism that the format is old because ‘2 Days & 1 Night’ is old. I am looking back on myself to bring change to those parts of the show.” “2 Days & 1 Night” has been on air for over 10 years and has visited numerous sites in Korea. When asked if there is pressure to find a new destination, PD Kim Sung replied, “I have met with the writers from the first season. It may sound obvious, but they said that going somewhere we have already gone and seeing how it changed is also traveling. There are many good places in our country, and I have learned about many places while working on ‘2 Days & 1 Night.’ From the sea, mountain, and fields, there are endless amounts of scenery. I will work hard to find beautiful scenery that may be hidden places and tourist sites.” “Kim Jun Ho said he wanted to invite his comedy mentor Joo Sung Chi, but I don’t know if it will be possible,” continued the PD. “For now, I want to figure this out amongst ourselves instead of with guests. The special I want to do is a tour with viewers. It is a tradition I want to carry on.” He concluded, “As for what to watch out for this week? I created a format so that the ‘2 Days & 1 Night’ members can run around freely in nature’s scenery. I made it so that they have to drive, put up tents, and cook by themselves. It may seem small, but I wanted to give the message of giving autonomy to the members and that they all have to create the program. There will be less of a fixed frame than usual. Please look forward to the fun that will come out of their naturalness.”
  5. “2 Days & 1 Night” PD Opens Up About Taking Over, Changes To The Show, And More TV/FILM Jan 10, 2019 by K. Lew Winds of change are blowing through “2 Days & 1 Night.” Not only has comedian Lee Yong Jinjoined the show as an intern, but producing director (PD) Yoo Il Yong, who led the show for the past two years, has left the show. Replacing him is PD Kim Sung. PD Kim Sung has been with “2 Days & 1 Night” for the past seven years. Though he stepped out for one year to work on “Immortal Songs,” he soon rejoined “2 Days & 1 Night.” As he took the helm of the show, he shared, “I’m going to bring alive the natural mentality of wild road variety.” When asked if he felt excited or pressured when he had received the offer to be the head PD, he answered, “It wasn’t a great feeling of happiness. However, ‘2 Days & 1 Night’ is about continuing on when the situation goes in unexpected directions. It felt like my life was also going in an unexpected direction. I decided to not be afraid and to accept it.” He added that because he had been with the show for a long time, he hadn’t felt any big psychological changes, and that he also could depend on former “2 Days & 1 Night” PDs Yoo Ho Jin and Yoo Il Yong. Kim Sung elaborated on some of the changes the show had made, such as the captions. He remarked, “‘2 Days & 1 Night’ has captions with its own traditional feel. However, we’re changing the designs. We’ve changed the font from Ming style to Gothic style, and reduced the many colors to just the colors of the logo. It may appear trivial, but from the perspective of a producer it’s a risk.” He talked about what it was like working with the members, saying, “There’s fun in the wheedling and negotiation between the ‘2 Days & 1 Night’ members and production staff. Jung Joon Young is particularly scary. He’s extremely smart. He’s someone who sees straight through what the production staff prepares and changes the game. When the production staff have meetings, we also ask, ‘How will Jung Joon Young react to this?'” Kim Sung mentioned the new year’s first episode, where the CEO of KBS made an appearance. He explained that they hadn’t originally planned on filming it, but he had come and thought that he could give the members some strength. The PD then commented on Lee Yong Jin joining the show as an intern. He remarked, “Lee Yong Jin hadn’t been particularly close to any of the original members, but he fit so well with them that we didn’t want to lose out on him. No matter who he is with among the six members, he doesn’t block their strengths and rather makes them come alive.” He continued, “Currently, we’re taking the time to get to know each other so we gave him the title of intern. Since it’s a first for all of us, we don’t have a specific period of time or procedure. We told Lee Yong Jin that we should enjoy the confusion together. I think that the process is more important than the results. I believe that Lee Yong Jin, the members, the production staff, and the viewers will decide.” When asked if Lee Yong Jin joining the show was due to one of the original members leaving, he firmly stated, “Absolutely not. The original six members all love the program and so none of the members will be leaving.” On viewership ratings, Kim Sung remarked, “Viewership ratings are important, but the point is to make sure that [viewers] watch for the whole hour. Our ultimate goal is to become a variety show where the viewers are curious about the next week. i want to make it so that they want to watch ‘2 Days & 1 Night’ the next Sunday.” The PD concluded by saying, “Our members know the shortcomings of our show very well. We can’t satisfy everyone, but we will work hard to prepare so that we will receive love from the most amount of people as possible.”
  6. I am sorry i remember seeing him on the show, might have mixed him with someone else. But when i say on and off i meant on producing when ilyong wasnt there.. Maybe i should have explained it in more detail.
  7. Here is the thing: I do think that if it was possible the award should be accepted by Ilyong PD, because this years KBS award is the result of his work, but if he was unable then i am fine with it. Secondly, Seong PD is OK too, he was on and off on 2d1n, but i liked his work on Sisters Slam Dunk. I need to watch several episodes to have a final decision. But that is not going to stop me from watching 2d1n of course. Thirdly; If someone is going to leave i think it will be JJY or YDG or maybe even CTH. KJM said he will be around until they don't want him and he keeps his promises. KJH likes stability, unless they fire him he stays on his shows. Defbear also has debt (he said it himself) and he seems to be the guy who stays until the credits roll. CTH may be tired, JJY is young and is on fire, YDG is also young and he might want to do different things. But most importantly, i think they might want to quit collectively because their bond is that strong, which is kind of heartbreaking in this situation. I hope it all ends well..
  8. “2 Days & 1 Night” Cast Has Fun Guessing Superlatives Awarded To Them By Staff Members TV/FILM Dec 30, 2018 by J. Lim The members of “2 Days & 1 Night” had a fun guessing game of superlatives with their staff! The episode of “2 Days & 1 Night” that aired on December 30 was a year-end special with a guest appearance by Lee Yong Jin. For their dinner mission, the producing director (PD) would tell them the name of an award that the staff voted on, and the cast would have to guess which of them the staff picked. If they got the answer wrong, they would have a dish taken away. Spoilers First up was the Visual Terror Award, and the cast immediately picked Defconn and Kim Joon Ho as the likely candidates. In the end, they picked Defconn for his various costumes and disguises that he’d taken on over many episodes. However, they were surprised to learn that it was actually Kim Joon Ho who won, and he had everyone laughing as he said, “I want to thank Kim Jong Min for dealing with my spit and farts. I will continue to show how gross I can be.” Next up was the Worst Complainer Award, and the members had to pick between Kim Joon Ho, Kim Jong Min, and Defconn. The cast went with Defconn again for his fast-paced complaining, that was almost a rap verse, and they guessed correctly. Jung Joon Young was chosen as the winner of the Cost-Effective Award, though the cast had originally guessed Yoon Shi Yoon as he knows how to pick only the important things to do. For the Precious Award, given to the cast member the staff has a soft spot for, Defconn picked Yoon Shi Yoon and said, “He’s always full of energy but things don’t go his way when he starts getting competitive,” and though some voiced their opinion that it would be Kim Joon Ho, they stuck with Yoon Shi Yoon and got the answer correct. For the Friendship Award, the cast picked Cha Tae Hyun and they were correct, with the staff noting that Cha Tae Hyun had received most of the votes. In last place was Kim Joon Ho and Kim Jong Min brought up the Visual Terror Award as he joked, “It’s because you’re gross and smelly.” Finally, it was time for the Daesang [Grand Prize] and the cast picked Cha Tae Hyun as the most-likely nominee. However, the win went to Kim Joon Ho and the staff explained that though Cha Tae Hyun had received the most votes from the staff, most of the PDs in KBS’s variety department picked Kim Joon Ho. Kim Joon Ho thanked the PDs and accepted his award.
