Synopsis:Wayne Lai is determined to make his own name in the business world and triumph over his father (Elliot Ngok), as a way of getting back for the many years of having to live under his tight control. 
Despite previous failures, Wayne is ready for another comeback with the help of Raymond Wong, Nancy Wu and Edwin Siu. They start up a mobile application company, with the intention of waging an all-out business war against Elliot. Ever since Wayne left home, his brother (Raymond Cho) has been cast aside by Elliot. His stepmother (Susanna Kwan) uses this opportunity to promote her son (Jason Chan) as the successor of the corporation and secretly works out a takeover plan. Facing repeated attacks from Susanna, Wayne fortunately receives the emotional support of his ex-girlfriend Maggie Siu and her autistic son (Fred Cheng). He also reconsiders his relationship with his father. Seeing Susanna's plot to take over Elliot's business empire, Wayne joins with his brother Raymond and step-uncle Power Chan to fight back.

31 Oct – TVB actor Wayne Lai is confident that his new series "Overachievers" will perform well in its viewership ratings.

As reported on On CC News, the actor, who attended a promotional event for the series recently, stated that the strength of the series is due to the fact that they are working with the same crew from 2012's "The Confidant".

"Their level of standard is very high," said Wayne. "I hope viewers will find the show interesting, as it has been a long while since we had a drama about the battle between the riches."

Asked if he hopes to win TV King again this year through the series, Wayne Lai replied, "I have won three times already, and I am assured. It doesn't really matter to me."

"Overachievers" also stars Nancy Wu, Edwin Siu, Raymond Cho, Maggie Shiu and Raymond Wong.

11 Nov – Just like Nick Cheung in "Unbeatable", TVB actor Edwin Siu recently admitted that training for a muscular physique for his new series has made him swear off such roles in the future.

According to Kuangai TVB, the actor, who plays a boxer in his new series "Overachievers", said that he had to undergo a rigorous routine in order to attain a great physique for his character.

"Two months before filming began, I started going to the gym for my training regime and lost 30 pounds," Edwin revealed. "I also asked the help of a boxing pro to train me in Muay Thai."

"I trained two to three times weekly for every single week," he said.

While he admitted that his body was at its fittest during filming, Edwin said that he felt very weak inside and has no energy due to his diet.

"I was even afraid of drinking water, so that the muscles would appear more defined onscreen," said Edwin.

He confessed, "I am not interested in playing similar roles in the future!"
