PLOT
A drama about an elite medical team, a doctor team that draws only the best doctors from each area, fights to make miracles possible and trying to fare its way amidst a power struggle shaking up the hospital. However, the doctors start getting into conflicts with one another when love enters the hospital mix.

Kwon Sang Woo to return to the small screen as a surgeon for new drama 'Medical Top Team'

Actor Kwon Sang Woo is set to return to viewers with a new drama!

After playing double roles as twin brothers in his previous work 'Queen of Ambition', starring alongside Soo Ae and TVXQ's Yunho, the actor will return as a surgeon this time through 'Medical Top Team'.

He'll be playing the role of 'Park Tae Shin', who is a genius in the field of surgery, but is often misunderstood due to his rash comments and attitude. However, underneath the exterior lies a soft-hearted man. 

The filming will begin in August, and the drama will premiere in October on MBC!

Lee Na Young Declines Role in ′Medical Top Team′
Lee Na Young will not be joining Medical Top Team.

She was in the final list of candidates for the lead of the upcoming MBC drama, but she did not make it into the drama in the end.

An official told enews on July 5, "Lee Na Young decided not to appear in Medical Top Team in the end. It is true that she spoke with the producers of the drama about an appearance, but she did not end up taking the role."

A source close to Lee Na Young also said, "We don′t know why talk about it has been springing up now when we′ve already decided not to take it up. She is currently considering another piece."

Kwon Sang Woo has already been confirmed as the male lead for the drama.

Medical Top Team is a piece by director Kim Do Hoon, who directed The Sun and the Moon, and screenwriter Yoon Kyung Ah of Brain. It is about how a top medical team treats patients.

The drama will air in October in Two Weeks′ time slot.

This drama seems like any other medial dramas - I'm not gonna watch it if it doesn't bring something new to the table. Even if that hawtest Kwon Sang Woo is in it.  :x

According to korean media Lee Min Jung is in talks to be the female lead of the drama!!!


Her management confirmed that she's thinking carefully her decision and reading the script ...  but the decision is not made yet 
As a big fan of her I hope she can take the role .... it would be nice to see a different side of her , after a marvellous rom com like All About My Romance a touching medical drama would be awesome!

Actress Lee Min-jeong is revising the new MBC drama "Medical Top Team".

Previously, a media reported that the actress will be coming back with this drama after getting married to Lee Byeong-Heon next month. She would be playing the role of Seo Joo-yeong.

"Medical Top Team" is about the love and conflicts between a dream medical team and the leading male role is played by kwon Sang-woo. It will be broadcasted in October after "The Queen's Classroom" and "Two Weeks".

Actress Rhee Min-jung is considering taking on a medical drama as her next project.

Rhee is looking into MBC’s medical drama tentatively titled “Medical Top Team” (translated title), her agency ESteam Entertainment’s official told TenAsia on Thursday.

According to the official, it hasn’t been long since she got the script so she is currently reviewing it. The role she has been offered to play is the main female character who is a doctor.

So far, actor Kwone Sang-woo has confirmed his appearance in the show as male lead Park Tae-shin who is a surgeon, an official with MBC said separately.

The drama will show on Wednesdays and Thursdays and premiere in October after “Two Weeks” (translated title) ends its run.

Rhee is currently preparing for her wedding with top actor Lee Byung-hun on August 10.

Lee Min Jung's leading man in "Medical Top Team" will be actor Kwon Sang Woo, who played a man out for revenge in the recent drama "Queen of Ambition." He is an award-winning actor who was recognized for his work in the series "Daemul." In the new medical drama he will play a warm but somewhat blunt cancer specialist.

One of the reasons that Lee Byung Hun and Lee Min Jung broke up early in their dating relationship had to do with his crowded schedule. He was a big star and she was a rookie actress. Despite the fact that her last two dramas, "All About My Romance" and "Big" were not huge hits, she has become a star in her own right and now has a busy acting schedule of her own to contend with. Korean actor Kwone Sang-woo will hold a fan meeting in Japan next month.

An official with Kwone’s agency Bel Actors Entertainment told TenAsia over the phone on Tuesday that Kwone will hold a fan meeting in Tokyo on August 5.

At the fan event, he will celebrate his birthday, which is on the same day as the meet and greet, and talk to fans about his recent life, the official added.

Kwone will then turn into a medical doctor for the first time for his next television project titled “Medical Top Team” (translated title).

The drama, which is set to premiere in October, will be directed by director Kim Do-hoon of Kim Soo-hyun’s historical drama “Moon Embracing the Sun” and written by writer Yoon Kyung-ah of Shin Ha-kyun’s medical drama “Brain.”

Korean actress Oh Yeon-seo [Wellmade STARM]

Actress Oh Yeon-seo has been cast in a new medical drama starring Kwone Sang-woo, her agency said on Tuesday.

Oh Yeon-seo will play an enthusiastic and energetic surgeon in the new drama tentatively titled “Medical Top Team” (translated title), an official with Wellmade STARM told TenAsia over the phone.

Oh was quoted as saying in a press release the same day that she is happy and excited to be working in a good project with such a great director, writer and actor.

Kwone will play the drama’s male lead, a medical surgeon who speaks and acts in a straightforward manner but kindly helps those in need.

This will be both Oh and Kwone’s first time playing doctors.

The drama is set to show every Wednesdays and Thursdays on major broadcasting channel MBC starting October.
