Girls' Generation's Soo-young Cast In New Medical Drama

The Girls' Generation members are staying busy. This includes Choi Soo-young who will be trying her hand at acting.

Choi Soo-young has been cast in a new cable medical drama "The 3rd Hospital" where she will join forces with Kim Seung-woo, Oh Ji-ho, and Kim Min-jeong. The drama will be produced by the same company that brought us "IRIS" and "ATHENA".

The storyline regarding traditional Eastern medicine and Western medicine. The doctors are all equally passionate about their chosen type of practice.

Choi Soo-young's character is named Eu-jin, who's a violist.

This is her second acting experience actually, with her first role having been in the movie "Unstoppable Wedding".

SNSD Members Cheered Sooyoung on Set One by One for ′The Third Hospital′

Girls’ Generation (SNSD) Sooyoung revealed that the SNSD members were quite supportive during her transition into an actress.

On July 31, tvN’s new drama The Third Hospital held its press conference, where lead actors, Kim Seung Woo, Oh Ji Ho, Kim Min Jung and Sooyoung gathered.

During the press conference, Sooyoung commented that the SNSD members have visited the set several times to cheer her on.

“Because the members think it’s more effective to trickle in, they usually come one by one,” said Sooyoung. “When they come separately during a time when the cast and staff are tired, they usually end up making the atmosphere a bit happier. I always gain strength from that, and I’m thankful.”

In the drama, Sooyoung will be playing Oh Ji Ho’s love interest, making Oh Ji Ho thank the staff, as he quipped, “When else can I be in this kind of a role?”

The Third Hospital is about the conflicting views between modern-day medicine and oriental medicine of two doctors (Kim Seung Woo and Oh Ji Ho).

The first episode will premiere on September 5.

SNSD Threw a Surprise Birthday Party for Kim Min Jung on Set

While chatting away about her upcoming tvN drama The Third Hospital,, Kim Min Jung revealed that the Girls’ Generation (SNSD) members threw her a surprise birthday party.

The press conference for the Third Hospital was held on July 31, at a drama set in Hwasung, Gyeonggido. There, Kim Min Jung revealed that it was her birthday on July 30 and said she had something she wanted to brag about.

“My birthday was yesterday. After we finished filming, I came into the waiting room to rest up when Sooyoung and the SNSD member, Yuri, who was visiting, came in holding a cake. It was a surprise birthday party,” said the now 30-year old actress. “Even though it was a birthday party thrown by girls for a girl, I’ve never been happier.”

Kim Min Jung will be acting in The Third Hospital with Sooyoung.

Dealing with the conflicting views of modern-day medicine and oriental medicine, The Third Hospital will premiere on September 5.

A photo was released from Taewon Entertainment of the cast holding their first script reading on March 14.

The medical drama is to portray rivalry between western and eastern medicine in one hospital. Sooyoung is to play a lovely violist as the second lead of the drama other cast members are Kim Seongwoo, Oh Jiho and Kim Minjung.

4Minute’s Nam Ji Hyun Cameos in ‘The Third Hospital’

TvN’s upcoming new medical drama, The Third Hospital is receiving an additional dosage of idol girl group power.

4Minute’s Nam Ji Hyun will be making a cameo in the drama as a a female singer who falls on stage and comes to the Western-Eastern fusion hospital to treat her stiffened muscles.

Acting opposite Eastern medicine doctor Kim Seung Hyun (Oh Ji Ho), Nam Ji Hyun was said to be her usual bright and happy self despite the hot day.

Also, she was said to have stayed behind until her scene was fully finished despite having to rush to another schedule afterwards.

The Third Hospital stars Kim Seung Woo, Oh Ji Ho and SNSD′s Sooyoung and will premiere on September 5.

One picture that was recently revealed online shows Sooyoung proudly holding a photo poster of her drama character. The character Lee Eui Jin seems to look like she will be as cute and loveable as Sooyoung herself.



In addition, Sooyoung came to watch last week’s episode of tvN’s Comedy Big League, and was seen in the crowd randomly holding up a big poster of The Third Hospital, again promoting her drama in a dorky and cute way.

Sooyoung commented that she is “eager to show viewers how she prepared for her new drama”.



TvN’s new drama The Third Hospital will take on a new and fresh topic of Eastern and Western medicine. Kim Seung Woo will be playing a neurosurgeon, while Oh Ji Ho will be playing a genius traditional herbal medicine doctor.

The two, along with each their own friends and teams, will compete ferociously with each other because of their different views on medicine, but also come together to help save patients’ lives.

The Third Hospital will be the first ever drama in Korea to be featuring a story on both modern and traditional medicine in a modern setting.

The Third Hospital will be airing its pilot episode on September 5, and will air two episodes each week, on Wednesday and Thursday at 11 p.m., only on tvN.

SNSD's Sooyoung shed tears after wrapping up her filming for 'The Third Hospital'

SNSD's Sooyoung has finally finished the filming for her upcoming drama titled 'The 3rd Hospital' after 5 long months. It was Sooyoung's last day as Lee Euijin, the character that she played in the drama.

It was reported that immediately after hearing the word "Cut!" from the director, Oh Ji Ho, whom Sooyoung had the most scenes within the drama, brought out a cake to celebrate and congratulate her on her final shoot.  The other cast and crew of the drama showered her with applause and cheers and as she blew the candles, Sooyoung burst into tears
Also to show her gratitude to everyone, Sooyoung surprised the staff by giving them a handwritten letter, an autographed CD, and a cosmetic set for over a hundred staff members.
Meanwhile, The 3rd Hospital will start airing on September 5, 2012.

SNSD’s Sooyoung Gets Friendly with Oh Ji Ho for Drama Poster Shoot

Mnet’s Wide Entertainment News recently took its cameras to the set of tvN’s The Third Hospital’s poster shoot and caught up with the stars of the upcoming medical drama.



Following an interview with Girls’ Generation (SNSD)’s Sooyoung and actor Kim Seung Woo, the cameras caught the girl group member and actor Oh Ji Ho joking around, laughing and getting up close and personal for the shoot.

The two appear to have great chemistry, and we’re definitely interested to see how the love line plays out when the drama premieres on September 5.
