I Have Full Wardrobes, But Always Nothing to Wear...

Please advise
I've got wardrobes crammed full of clothes, but still and always, nothing to wear when I open the wardrobe doors.

What could you do when overwhelmed by too many clothes?

...Give them away to poor people if they aren't good enough for you?

Already brought many to the local church office.

Problem is, I quite often forget what I have in the closet. It's always a headache for me to rummage through the wardrobe.

I just made a search on google, and found it is not a unique problem to me. tears.gif

Try using software to track your items?

There're quite a few programs out there.

My younger sister enjoys those little toys on the computer.

Either give them to younger sisters/cousins, donate or re-design them yourself. That's what I do.

Thank you.

The Kim Komando Show recommended this free program HomyFads on their site.

Anybody ever tried it? I just cannot download the file. Is it still available? blink.gif

The website is:

Anybody successfully downloaded the program?

Clicking the download button, and I was given an "Access denied" message! :(

You can try something like the 5 piece french wardrobe method to curb your consumerism and heighten consumer discretion. Wrote about it in my blog. Other things you can do: shopping ban, sell your clothes to others, donate to good will, sell to consignment shop, hand them down to little sisters, etc. Frankly, I don't think you need a software program. It sounds like you need to just be more aware of what you buy and what you like/need to wear.

start buying accessories instead of clothes. you can make a lot of outfits go from meh to wow with the right accessories

start looking at fashion sites or magazines for inspiration.

personally, i look at fashion tumblrs for my inspiration.

this doesnt = buy more things. if you find an outfit you like, see what items you have in your wardrobe and play with it.

At times I do have trouble finding the right item when it's needed.

Not that hopeless. Though admittedly I'm something of a clutter bug

Better avoid the temptation to buy too much. And this automatically tidies up the closet

take a day or two to organize your whole closet.

i used to be the same. when your clothes are messy, you always forget all the cute stuff you have and end up buying more. just clean up so you can see everything.

then stop buying and enjoy the clothes you already have. change up the styles or play with different pieces of clothes to create new styles. you can wear the same thing more than once and make them look totally different. hahah

its the magic of fashion and inventiveness.

Go through your wardrobe. Something you don't wear a lot? Put it in boxes/sell/give away.

Organise into basics and supplementary items :) OR organise into tops, bottoms, other

try giving yourself a dress up challenge: pick an item from your closet at random and make an outfit with it, or look at fashion magazines and try to re-create the outfits with what you have.

and i definitely echo the opinion that you should take a day to just organize.
