144.8lb → 119.2lb
start: --> 144.8+ lb (10/09/09) but I started caring in November

current (lowest): 123.9 123.7 123.3 122.4 121.8 121.0 (07/13/10) 120.6 (07/15/10) 119.2 (sometime in August)

goal: 117 (or lower) (SUMMER) oops.

STATS;

height: 5'3" (160cm)

weight: 119.2 lb (54.18 kg)

I've always been overweight. I've always been the fattest one out of all my friends-- which I made okay to myself because I was taller than everyone else. but it was so embarrassing. embarrassing when my mom made the costumes for my dance class using me as the model and everyone's skirts were way too big. embarrassing when a girl noticed we had the same pants and hers were loose, and mine were tight. but I never had the motivation to lose weight

my weight loss stories are embarrassing. having my mom have to bribe me to lose weight-- "if you get down to 130 pounds, I'll get you this" and after getting that after a few MONTHS, "we can get a cat after 125 pounds"-- then completely stopping, gaining all the weight back + more

I actually lied. I never felt embarrassed or thought I was THAT fat. (those stories are true though) I thought I was average, despite my weight. I thought I looked okay, etc. etc. because my face is (apparently) small, so (according to my mom), no matter how much I gain, I'll still look presentable. which was why I had so many failed diet attempts, because I didn't feel that I needed to (in fact I thought that extra weight was because I had lots of muscle mass. hah).

however a year ago, I took a blood test (for my physical for volleyball). When I got the results back, I found out that my cholesterol was 100 points(??) higher (if I'm wrong, whatever, it basically meant that I was unhealthy) than it's supposed to be, yet my glucose level was abnormally low. (which is odd considering the fatness I had was because I eat too much candy/sweets) I didn't think it was legit, but I got worried about my health for the first time, and took action.

I have no regrets from getting that scary blood test back P:

I'm sick and tired of attempted and failed attempts to get healthy. so I figure if I publicize this, and have people expecting something out of me, I'll get more motivation to lose weight.

it's also kinda late to start this journal now because I already lost more than half my goal, but the last 10 pounds are always the hardest, so I'm gonna need a little more motivation.

routine:

food

*no more candy (or cutting to a minimal)

*not eating 7 large meals

*cutting down to normal portions

*if I'm not hungry... DON'T EAT.

*etc.

exercise

*running 3.5 miles (30 minutes) every other day

*8 min ab everyday

*biking to and fro school (not really that much, it's only <strike>1 mile</strike> 2 miles in total) (I actually calculated because I added in running to school as part of my running routine, it's farther than I thought :x)

*track season-- sprinting, endurance, pole vaulting, ab workouts, stretching

*NEW! Insanity on given days-- except rest days on Saturday

*(plan to, haven't done yet) running route (measures out to be 4.92 miles according to mapquest) on Saturdays

food: I already had a ^ food part, but it wasn't detailed ;x there are a few foods that I completely eliminated from my diet, because of high fat content + ..if you think about it, the amount of grossness in it is really disgusting.

I no longer eat:

-(pork) dumplings (as in, the ones with meat. I eat those dumplings with the same filling as jiu cai he zhis though. basically leek, some noodle and egg)

-hot dogs (haven't had them since like. November? ToT)

-noodles (or limit to 1 meal of noodles a day, and once every few weeks)

-ice cream (or very limited. like once every 2+ months)

-TBC..

around 10~15 pounds into the diet: (those jeans I'm wearing-- they were skiiiin tight on me in the summer, and it was difficult to button. this picture was taken at night (yes, so after eating), and before I did my tummy workout, nor was it flexed)

weight:

it's recommended that you weigh yourself once every other week to avoid discouragement when you gain or don't lose due to fluctuation, but I'm the type that gets fired up when I gain a lot ("THEN I HAVE TO WORK HARDER TODAY") or when I lose ("LET'S KEEP GOING"), so I check everyday (and write it on my calendar, but here, I'm gonna start from today only--)

measurements:

I only measure once a month, on the third (or 4th) Sunday of each month. I measure my arms, thighs, calves, waist and hips. I'll provide measurements from start to current (because it's not as tedious as it would be to type out all my weights)

wow, good job! I'm glad that you were able to make this change....I recognize you from a lot of other posts and I know you've mentioned your issued with weight in the past so to see you make this kind of progress is really inspiring and awesome.

you are actually really close to my measurements (what I used to be....where I am now), so I will definitely be cheering you on! haha

gahh, my inspirationnn, i been trynna shed 20 lbs but it's so hard with all the good food and summer coming up -.-

but my goal is just 125 lbs and i'm 5'3 too! :] goood jobb! good luck and keep up the work out!

Reward yourself and get your mom to take you shopping so you can get an outfit or two that flaunt the change in you ;) Then work toward your goal for a new shopping spree and throw out the really baggy loose clothing.

You know what im talking about - the clothes that hide you or detract from you by being abstract or clashing against your body ;)

I'd love to have parents that bribed me with pets and stuff!! :D More incentive~ I'd take advantage!! :P

summer coming up should be MOTIVATION<3 (like that quote I jacked. I heard it in school and thought it applied to this really well ;D)

my mom's goal for me was actually 125 pounds, but I'm not that satisfied with my body right now, so I'm continuing ;x

ummmmm. normal days, I'm unable to do that 6 meal a day thing because I get home at roughly 5pm, and I'm not allowed to eat when I feel like it in school (or the teachers confiscate it and eat it in your face). my school sucks

breakfast-- sandwich, baozi or mantou (with meat inside)

lunch-- rice, meat/fishie, veggies (basically leftovers from the night before)

dinner-- rice, meat/fishie, veggies (recently I'm taking out the rice or cutting it to minimal)

after-dinner (occasional)-- cereal+milk, fruits or ..well I used to have rice cakes, but I finished them all, so not anymore

pant sizes...

well. I wore guy jeans (remember?), so I was a 32 before (it was loose, but still..)

and now I'm like. depending on the brand, I can be a 7, 9 or 11. it's strange. girl pants are weird.

I mean not in a sense to inspire me to lose weight :lol: I really admire people like you who can I have such willpower and dedication to actually WORK and lose weight the tried and true way instead of posting questions about those ridiculous gimmick diets on Soompi.

our similar stats are really similar! except that i was about 151 lbs T_T

yeah, honestly I can't do any of those diets, like I'm mentally unable to do them. I need to have food in my system. I'm prolly the type that would rather run 3 miles everyday than cut out my meat (..which I do do.)

I actually don't wear them (tank tops) yet >_< at least, not in public. that tank pictures are either at home, after I took off my tshirt to exercise, or right after I showered, I needed a shirt to put on to take the pictures (the thing where I'm sitting outside was for the scarves :x)

update: I'm suppressing my hunger for food in my mouth (yes, I like to munch even if I'm not hungry.) and running fast.

WOOOOW you're really really inspirational! like... I just finished working out and by reading this thread, you just made me wanna workout even more! hahaha

yesss I'm totally on ur side! let's get ready for summer! and be able to wear super nice outfits! :P

let's not give up! summers just around the corner but we still got plenty of time to work out way out :D
