Some tomboys hate girls that act like girls. They claim it's annoying. What do you think?

I think you are going down to her level by talking this way about her.

Let her be who she wants to be, but politely tell her that you do not like her disrespecting you.

I love makeup, but i have boyish short hair and can act like a guy ==

And the lesbian comment was rather unnessary imo. She can dress and act whatever way she likes without being associated with sexuality.

i dont see whats the problem with dress sense and personal choice; what you've stated there is clearly something she prefers and finds that she is more comfortable with.

i can vouch for that, i used to have short guy hair, wore baggy/guys clothes, i NEVER EVER wanted to wear a skirt if it wasnt part of my uniform, didnt wear makeup, and if you asked anyone i was more a guy than a girl to alot of friends. but i wasnt a lesbian either, and i just found it something hassle free and easy to maintain. its a style, and a fashion preference, so lay off them, unless you have a mandate from god and the higher beings above to convert all of feminity into girly princesses with frilly pink dresses

hmmm I know a lot of tomboys that don't cringe at the thought of anything feminine... >_> <_<

It's cool for ppl have their own thing... but when it's like your roommate... I can see why it's annoying...Why don't you STOP suggesting thing to her when you know she doesn't like it, and that she can stop rolling her eyes at anything femininity. Just talk and compromise....

I know it's what they are comfortable with, but I hate how they don't realize that they could be mistaken as a guy and that maybe that's why they don't get asked out. A friend of mine is also extremely boy-ish and was really offended when someone asked her why she was in the girls bathroom. I find is soo annoying when they claim that they have never liked a guy before and that they will remain asexual for life. And they also become disappointed when a friend of theirs who also was a tomboy converted into a girl. Come on, I mean no one is going to stay a tomboy for life and not care about their social life.

What I hate the most is when they bash girly girls and think of us as shallow and dumb. my roomie labels people who care too much about their appearance as valley girls.

Well to be honest, you sound pretty shallow right now, so you aren't helping the stereotype much.

I don't get why some girls HATE being feminine. I find it so immature and plain annoying when a tomboy cringes at the thought of becoming more feminine. Personally I am really girly and I like makeup and wearing nice clothes etc. My roommate on the other hand is very guy-ish. I asked her why she doesn't at least wear girl jeans instead of guys and she cringes and rolls her eyes like it's a bad thing to be girly. And every time I put on my makeup in the morning she rolls her eyes. Why don't girls want to advocate their own sexuality unless they are lesbians?? My roomie is not lesbian and she was talking about how "sad" it was that she got a bit girlier than she used to be. It's not a matter of short hair etc. I mean tomboys that don't wear makeup, have really short guy hair, wear guys pants with a mens sweater. I don't understand WHY?! and then they complain when another girl tells them they look metrosexual.

-_________-;;

I find it hilarious that you're calling tomboys "immature" for not putting on makeup and wearing girl's clothes. Reread your post and maybe you'll start to understand what immature really is.

^ I think you should re-read the post and realize i am referring to tomboys cringing at the thought of being feminine as immature.

I don't think it's a preference. It's more they are lazy. It's not fair that some girls have to put so much effort into looking nice and then there are girls that don't give a crap and just moan about their social life. Instead of sitting around do something to change if you really hate being called a trany.

I am not here to debate or argue. I am just wondering WHY do some girls not want to be girly? I am not talking girly as in wear makeup etc. I am talking girly enough to not be mistaken as a dude.

Hey hey hey. I got mistaken for as a guy even when I wasn't tomboyish o.O

You're just generalising all of the tomboys out there. I hope you don't mean every existent tomboy in this world because what you just said was not true.

I was once a tomboy, I claimed liking guys before. I didn't like wearing wearing girly girl styles, but I thought they were pretty, just that I wasn't interested in them.

What's wrong with girls being NOT feminine?

Is it WRONG to not be feminine?

Can't girls be unique?

Right, so if girls can't be tomboyish then guys can't be girly. We must ban guys from going anywhere near make up.

You're just angry with the tomboys you see/know in everyday life. Don't pull other tomboys into this.

Oooh this thread is going to be interesting! O_o

You're not acting mature either yourself by posting this up so I don't get why YOU should be allowed to complain. :D

You really are something, aren't you. You think that just because some girls don't like having to conform to yours and the rest of society's ridiculous standards of beauty that they're just lazy, immature, and there's something wrong with them. Why does everyone have to care so damn much about their appearance in order to gain acceptance? Wearing make-up, dressing up, that stuff is all fine, but some people have different priorities, different tastes, and different standards of beauty, and the fact that you're so closeted from the real world that you can't even accept that is really depressing.

I also find it really sad that you're begging for sympathy. You poor thing, it's not fair that you have to put so much effort into your looks when others don't care about theirs. Give me a break.

If I had to guess, I'd guess that you're just jealous that you're so neurotic about your looks while others couldn't give a crap.

Just let them be. It's their life to live, not yours. Why are you going to put a problem on your shoulders that's not even yours. People are just different and are going to have their own unqiue views no matter what so let it go.

Or maybe living with a tomboy made me generalize all tomboys to be like her. I used to be a tomboy when i was little and I never really thought negatively towards them until after living with one. I am not extremely girly either I am just a girl. She's like a guy on the other hand. And I always feel like I am so shallow since she doesn't give a crap about what she wears while I wake up going through my drawers for a matching outfit. I just feel really self-concious. I just get this vibe that she doesn't like me cause I am feminine. Also when her parents come around they give off the same vibe towards me. My roommate last year was girlier than me and I felt like a total boy but now it's different and I feel weird.

@malice: i am not trying to pick a fight so can we keep this chill? I am just annoyed at the fact that some girls complain about how they are called metro, dike etc whatever and they come up to me and they are oblivious as to why? And it's bluntly obvious that maybe it's because they look like a guy. I am saying that if they really cared about what others thought then they should go out of their way and do something about it ie. wear girl clothes etc. I am neurotic about my looks and I love being able to look girly and be noticed for it. But I can't stand when girls who are capable of this choose not to out of pure laziness.

I think your title should be more like 'I don't like my roommate.' instead of 'I don't like tomboys.' lol..

^^ Technically you felt insecure with different types of people around you. So last year you may have hated girls girlier than you..?

I bet you'll eventually get used to your roommate.

She doesn't hate you. It's just that you two are too different.
