This is my first time in this tread so excuse me for maybe touching a subject that has already been discussed. Can someone tell me which of Mrs. Lee Hyori K-dramas are worth checking out ? I was wondering in particular these two:
"Three Leaf Clover" 세잎클로버 (2005)
"If in Love... Like Them" aka. "Perhaps Love" aka. "All This Love" 사랑한다면 이들처럼 (2007)
Has anyone seen "Fate" 숙명 (2008) with Mr. Song Seung-heon (송승헌), Mr. Kwon Sang-woo (권상우), Mr. Kim In-kwon (김인권) and Miss Park Han-byeol (박한별) ? I would really know your takes on it - both positive and negative.
I really love the intenseness within and between the characters and the very emontional feeling this movie has throughout this dark story. However the editing is a bit messed up - in which they left out a few very important details which is not clear until the very end of this movie. If they should have placed this as a great pre-story in the beginning - by introducing the character and their relationship. This really bothers me as I think this movie really has so much more potential if they just re-edited and changed that ! Aaaaigoo..... Still it is worth seeing. Really great acting, plot and every thing else !
@irilight, I have just finished watching "Running Wild" 야수 (2006) - and acting wise I think Kwon Sang-woo is in his full glory as the hardboiled and psychotic homicide detective who will stop at nothing to take down the bad guys. I think the plot is a bit too complicated and messy - plus in some places the soundtrack messes up... Some scenes are quite good and emotional (which I like). Still I think that the fans of Mr. Kwon Sang-woo will enjoy this movies to a certain degree because of his role here.
@CallieP, you can get the Blu-ray I mentioned on websites like YesAsia, KimchiDVD, eBay, etc. - they carry South Korean DVD and Blu-ray releases. I am sorry, but I am not so sure what you mean by "regular limited edition DVD", but if you refer to regular as a one disc release with the longer uncut/un-edited 141 min. version of the movie on DVD, then the answer is no.
"Gangnam Blues" (aka. "Gangnam 1970") Limited Edition Blu-ray
Finally ! The date for Blu-ray release of "Gangnam Blues" 강남 1970 (aka. "Gangnam 1970") have been set to 26th. June (2015) ! This will be a limited edition release which will contain both the theatrical (135 mins.) and uncut versions (141 mins.) of the film - and it will have English subtitles. I am not sure but I think there will be some extra goodies included in this special package - something about a book and a poster. There will also be commentary (in Korean I guess), making-of features, premiere, trailer and (more ?) deleted scenes.
@hibiscus23, I immensely love this movie myself, but I try not to watch it too often as I do not want to get bored of it. Miss Son Ye-jin is perfect in it. Every time she cries I start to cry also... happens every time... Aaaaaigooo... Argh..... Hehe... But I love it ! I still haven't seen the Theatrical cut of it - only the Director's cut, so I need to experience that one day. The Director's cut is longer, so if you haven't seen it then you better check it out. I went last year back to Seoul and got a hotel near the Family Mart - but they had changed it to another chain branch. I am glad I went the year before to catch it before they changed. They had even took down the poster and signed stuff... I did not have a chance to go to South Korea this year, but I hope to be back again maybe next year or sometime soon Also, if you haven't done it yet, try to listen to the soundtrack from the movie. There is one melody that always gets me in a very emotional state when listening to it. The beginning is so amazing.....
I am so happy to have gotten hold of the original South Korean poster (not a re-print). It was so hard to find, but suddenly it just appeared on eBay one day - un-used !!! - and I was lucky enough to win it. This is the only time I have seen the original poster listed - except for the reproductions listings which I do not care to get.
When I was in Seoul this summer (my first trip) I had to go look for and find the Family Mart which was an important location for the movie. It is still there. They have even hang a big poster, two screen capture pictures of the Family Mart first appearances of three scenes in this movie and a signed message from both Son Yi-jin and Jung Woo-sung.
