[Official] ChaeKi/Burning Toast Couple Thread [Song Joong Ki & Moon Chae Won]

I've been running errands and planning for the holidays this week so haven't had time to post even when my hands were itching to reply. Finally have time to weigh in.

I went back and rewatched CW's Mnet Chamisul interview and though she did seem very tired and lost some of her glow, I found it particularly noticeable with how she would fidget with her hair/hands right before or after saying the words "love" or describing how audiences felt "pity, empathy" for EunMaRu's love. It was always in relation to "sensitive" words and phrases she would fidget with her hair and have her eyes downcast for longer periods of time. She also blinked faster, and looked away from the interviewer in quicker spurts during those parts of the interview. She was very alert and guarded in specific portions of that video. As to why, that's your guess.

The highlight for me was when the interviewer asked if CW would use her aegyo CF-way of asking for more soju...she answered by bursting into a shy smile, looked down, as if she was recalling a specific person and how "the other person probably wouldn't like it." This line was immediately followed by slight furrowing of her eyebrows and twitch of her lips, this micro-expression was a sign of hesitation. I think CW realized what had randomly come out of her mouth and was regretting the words. You have to watch closely to catch that micro-expression.

There is no doubt in my mind that MCW and SJK are attracted to each other. It's not just the body language and their BTS's. It's simply a normal occurrence in the entertainment world, especially for such an introspective, deep, and pervasive love story. Many actors and actresses, whether it's in the West or in the East, find their co-stars alluring during filming. Some develop into friendships, some develop into lovers.

What's been fueling my, and quite a few Toasts' hopes, is the strange behavior surrounding ChaeKi during and after filming. It's very rare that a pair of leading actors in Korea would deny their friendship when it's evident they have a great working relationship off-set, particularly given SJK and MCW's "nice/pure" image. As I've said earlier, it's almost a "faux pas" to say someone only has a work relationship with you - it's rather impolite, as if saying the other persons' personality wasn't compatible/good enough to become friends.

Asian culture rely heavily on relationships in their work, less straight-forward than Western culture, so it's even more interesting that ChaeKi can separate work and personal relationships so easily. It's why colleagues (no pun intended ) in S.Korea eat lunch, dinner, and drink together so often. Personal relationships are closely tied to work. For people who are not close personally, not friendly, it's hard to work together seemlessly. It's true everywhere, but more so in Asia.

What I'm trying to say is...logically, realistically, and delusional-ly, there is every reason to think that ChaeKi harbor affections for each other. Why I possess so much positivity regarding this ship is not because they may like each other - I've seen lots of co-stars over the years develop affections for each other - it's how ChaeKi have reacted since NG stopped filming that has my hopes raised and interest doubly piqued. Like many Toasts have mentioned, it would have been prudent for both to simply say they're comfortable same-age friends, maybe even joke around saying they would make fun of each other on set, or CW can say JK is too pretty for her, or any number of things. Why the separation of ties and reticence?

Even if JK is worried about causing another rumor to occur, and thereby affecting his co-star's reputation/career, doesn't that also prove that he is close enough to CW to care? You would have to refute JK's polite, honest, and kind personality if you think he and CW did not develop a close relationship. Similarly, you would also have to deny CW's frankness, display of trust/closeness, deep loyalty and affection for friends. You really can't dismiss ChaeKi's closeness to each other without also dismissing their honest personalities. Unless of course, you think all those public appearances and BTS's was just a show within a show. They were "acting" all along in public and BTS.

ChaeKi are great actors, but I don't know if they are that good. Welcome @fairyep and @annie0820 to SilverTop Village aboard the ChaeKi Ship!

so rather than being dishonesty answering directly the question related MCW, SJK chose to avoiding that and not to talking about their relationship..

try to put ourself in Chaeki shoes..
IF they're really in relationship, i bet it's a hard time for them..
they have to avoiding each-other, or maybe made a fake statement like >> they're merely colleagues..

Oh yeah guys!I must share with you a secret!Today is my psychic-eeish day!Throughout the day, I've been jinxing predicting random stuff that really came true!So for my next jinxing of prediction, I PREDICT CHAEKI LOVING EACH OTHER FOREVER & EVER & MARRIED & HAPPILY LIVING WITH THEIR BASEBALL TEAM !I must say though, there's just something about chaeki that keeps me really hopeful, (okay, I'm actually guilty of being hopeful with all my pairings, although, it has been awhile since I've started shipping a pairing so strongly again hehe!) I think it's the very telling signs that they just seem to send in every direction consciously or unconsciously!They are just feeding out delusions through constant weird behaviours that arises our suspicions (:& I'll reveal my secret to shipping Chaeki :$I actually consider them happily dating & ready to get married sometimes =))
I think I'm gonna need a disclaimer for this just because I am suddenly boosted with energy after my visit here & may come off as insane :$

During the last week of NG, it was not the NG ost that I listened to. It was this video that kept me company, I think I raped the replay button throughout the weekend  =P but luckily my husband really liked this song as well, so he did not complain =P

I remembered when I first heard this song, I was emotional and tearful, because at that time I think this was so impossible for EunMa. I kept playing this video and told my husband....... this was my best wishes for EunMa, I hope it was possible for them.......

Of course I did not pray for EunMa =P since they are not real people, Instead I prayed for myself. I asked God to pls gave me a good ending because this was the first drama I loved so much. A bad ending would be a nightmare for me and I would throw this drama into the deepest ocean and never remember it again =p...........almost my exact prayer haha

Never never in my wildest dreams did I expect NG will end with a proposal and a prayer......Thanks God =p

Watching this video again brought back lots of fond memories =)

In the latest High Cut issue, in the Fashion World: Power People section, a survey was taken of 100 highly-sought photographers, fashion designers, designers, stylists, hair and makeup artists, and brand and marketing personnels.  In the survey, marketing and CF personnel chose Song Joong Ki-Moon Chae Wonand Jang Dong Gun-Go So Young Couple as #1 couple that they want to contract with for advertisements as a couple. The reason they chose ChaeKi (Moon Chae Won and Song Joong Ki) was because they are quote “opening a brand new chapter in romantic couples”.

Am I the only one rolling around my bed giddy and high, because professionals and experts ranked ChaeKi right next to a married couple? And it’s High Cut which is known to have pretty hot/sexy photo-shoots. I mean, out of all possible couples to choose from, why ChaeKi? There are tons of drama OTPs out there who have appeared together for so much longer than our ChaeKi, and there are new couples who are just as hot and have been around even longer, so then, why ChaeKi? I find it amazing, because our couple is so low-key, and they haven’t made a joint interview together before either. The only time we get to see them is during the drama and the bts, so I guess this means three things: 1) everyone watched Nice Guy  2) their NG poster picture was explosively hottttt, OR…3) I’ll leave whatever other options left up to the delusional minds.

Whatever is the case, we need a CF pronto.

Charm, I just love your posts too. You're always so insightful Chingu. I also have a confession to make; I have yet to pray for ChaeKi in my prayers. Though I've been sorely tempted, there are just too many things and people in my personal life that I need to pray for already. However, I may start to bring MCW and SJK in my prayers too since I'm already praying for many other acquaintances in prayer sessions. MCW and SJK seem more like friends than acquaintances to me. ) @sunny_day Great idea about religious Toasts doing a prayer session for ChaeKi.

I was wrapping Christmas gifts tonight with my BF - well, more like I was wrapping and he was cutting tape for me - and we got talking to ChaeKi. I've been very good this past month by trying to move on from NG and not mentioning/rewatching EunMa/NG (OK, fan vids don't count)...which is why he was so curious as to what's been happening with ChaeKi knowing that KBS Awards are coming up. Anyways, after updating him on recent interviews and all the suspicious circumstances, he freaking plays devil's advocate on me!

So here I am explaining and rationalizing my argument on why ChaeKi is suspicious, how there is quite a big divergence from their previous behavior regarding co-stars (puhshh, what does he know, he didn't even really know who SJK and MCW was before NG), etc......and somehow we ended up talking about SJK and MCW's perspective on love and relationships. And that's when I had a small revelation.

It's interesting that JK said in his interview right after NG ended that he thinks MR fell in love with EG when she came barefoot in the rain to confess her love to MR. Yet, in her written interviews, CW mentioned that she thinks MR really fell in love with EG after her amnesia. This struck me as very interesting perspectives of the characters ChaeKi have been portraying and understanding for the past 6 - 7 months. From the way I see it, this disconnect stems from JK and CW's different interpretations of how love is expressed and developed. JK is living and breathing as MR, so he is more apt to know precisely when his character was touched and fell in love, despite MR's lack of words. Yet CW thought of MR's love exactly the same way many female audiences did while watching NG, by his actions and "pure" devotion to EG. So many viewers at the time perceived MR's actions and behavior after EG's amnesia as evidence of him finally falling in love. But SJK felt "MR" already fell in love before EG's amnesia, when MR wasn't clearly showing it, when his intentions were mixed/impure.

This prompts me to link to JK and CW's perspectives on love based on how they perceived NG's characters. SJK probably can relate to MR b/c most men are like that; don't really know that they've fallen in love until after the fact, especially after they've lost it. And similarly to MR, I think JK is the type to stay quiet and observe before confessing, and even then I don't think it'll be grand gestures of love like he's done on RM. CW on the other hand seems to have been taken by Writer Lee's concept of ordinary happiness. In essence, I think NG has been so memorable for JK and CW also b/c of it's enlightened themes on love and living. Both have gained a lot of insight on their own lives from this drama's life lessons b/c ChaeKi have actively participated in this script and production; to know what is valuable in life, to live for yourself and not just others, to find someone to share ups and downs with, to find happiness in ordinary living. Can y'all imagine what it feels for ChaeKi to be inundated with these concepts and emotions for (at least) 6 months? It's like a transformation of perspectives and attitudes. Given that Writer Lee is Christian (Catholic I believe) and how close she is to JK and have become with CW, I think her influence to both of them is great.

Can our chaeki simply be the exact younger version of the Jang Dong Gun-Go So Young Couple =D I really love the way Jang says that " “We would always worry and root on for each other during hard times.”
This couple was around chaeki's age when they did a movie together; both were 27 years old. Like chaeki, they have no age gap too =D.    But they announced their relationship only after 10 years =O........ If there is any chance for chaeki, pls dont let it be 10 years....at most 7 years like EunMa =p..........
Really need fairy godmother to work her magic....really pls work hard...since you already work so hard to link these two couples together.... [-O<

I think toasts must be always wondering why I keep harping on fairy godmother etc..
Its because without God on their side, luck, fairy dust or whatever, even if there is affection btw them, even if they work hard on their relationship........ they may never be together as this is real life.
