I'm like the opposite of magnificent-swan-to-ugly-duckling. I went full-circle and I'm back to ugly duckling again LOL.
-all throughout childhood, wasn't aware of my figure. had a bland haircut (long straight middle part *shudder*). didn't know how to wear makeup. until late high school.
-acquired a good sense of fashion that flaunted a figure I didn't know I had. went off to college, enjoyed freshman year
-got freshman-15 (thanks to all the all-nighters, stress, etc). metabolism slowed down. well, that was short-lived.
I'm a writer and I analyze K-pop. I would love to talk with you on Twitter (@Pop_Pebbles) https://twitter.com/Pop_Pebbles . Tweet me your suggestions for topics and I will try to cover them.

Now this is me. At 165 cm, 50 kg. I'm planning to lose another 10 kg, (Until I'm around the 35-42 kg range which is the weight for most ulzzang models at this height).

A month after she posted in the ugly duckling thread, she posted a before and after pic in the makeup thread.. the after one doesnt work anymore, but her original `before`makeup picture looks nothing like the other ones, her eyebrows are even different, so don`t know if she is actually posting real pictures since she hasn`t logged on since then anyways lol.

Started off pretty cute...Second row, last one in the overalls.
Then we go to exhibit B, HOLYCRAPWHATHAPPENED, WHERE DID THE CUTENESS GO. I'm like 8/9 here. YUP my parents tortured me with braces EARLY.
And here we go, a little bit better––age 11/12 *quoted image*
Stayed consistently awkward/ugly throughout high school, ALL BECAUSE OF MY HAIR. Let me explain the crazy hair to you. I am a curly and frizzy-haired Korean girl (I know WTFBBQ) and I had a boyfriend during this time who was into the whole "I haven't showered or brushed my hair in months" look. And it was super long and unruly. FFFFFUUUU--
Then, went to college and, YUP, YOU GUESSED IT! GOT FAT. FRESHMAN 15 WAAAAT
Then, pretty recently, this happened (me on left)
I'm still working on losing the weight I gained in college -___- but I think this is the best I've looked thus far... LOL
And a few more recent ones:
SO YUP, THE END! ahahaha. I still suffer from acne and I need to lose some weight, but other than that...I THINK I'M DOING PRETTY WELL. YAP.

Wow! When you're 8/9 years old, aren't you still losing teeth?! I've never really saw someone who got braces at that age but it sure paid off! And also, did you straighten your hair? I have terribly frizzy hair as well, and I would really like to know how to tame it..
Okay . . .
*SIGH* I am going to be so embarrassed in posting this, but I have
religiously and secretly followed this thread for four years now, and I
think it's time I actually post something on here. So here's my story. 2006 (12 years old)I was not exactly gifted aesthetically . . . JK,
on a more serious note, here was me actually smiling and not making a
scary face . . . But let's face it, I wasn't a cute child. I was a
tomboy, that boys called an "It" because I wore boy clothes and always
wore my hair in a pony tail.
2008 (14 years old) I got a Willy Wonka hair cut, and gained 20
pounds. It didn't help that my whole family was good looking, and I was
the ugly one . . . and it REALLY didn't help that my sister was a beauty
pageant queen. >.<" I was also going through puberty, so I just
got chubby and had pimples all over my forehead.
2012: Now (18 years old) I actually went to a Korean salon to
get my hair cut professionally, not by my sister and a pair of dull
scissors . . . I lost the 20 pounds I gained, I started taking care of
my skin, and of course, I learned how to use make up. I think using make
up helped the most to be honest, but I also gained a lot of confidence.
I wasn't ashamed of myself anymore or being the ugly one in the family.
I just tried to make the best of what I had at the time.
That photo is of course, an edited facebook profile picture photo. I
used artistic glow, contrast, and smoothed out my face with gaussian
blur. This is an unedited photo from prom where you can see me and my
friends---> Ahh sorry I did so many edits . . . I'm not used to this new soompi yet. >.<" I am still working on my confidence, and at least boys do not call me an "It" anymore, but I still get really nervous and shy meeting people and tend to hide behind my friends. I'm really self conscious about my looks, but I don't criticize myself as much as I used to, and I try my best to remember that I should make the most of what I have and be thankful. :)
