D-LITE is currently filming the drama「What's Up」in Korea. This mask is the symbolic item. source : ygbigbang @ ameblo.jp taken from: bigbanghaven.blogspot.com Daesung rocks out for “What’s Up” Jaws dropped when Big Bang member Daesung first revealed his ripped shirtless body a few days ago. These photos were for Daesung’s upcoming new drama titled, “What’s Up“. Now even more photos from the drama have been released. Daesung is said to assume the role of a student pursuing musical studies, but it seems like this “student” may be living a double life as an idol under the stage name Hades, the Greek god of the underworld. In one of the photos, a fan is holding up a sign that reads “take off your mask” in Korean, while another fan is holding up the same message but in English. The photos below are from the drama, as Daesung had to film a rock concert for it. The mask, outfit and setting definitely gives off a creepy yet epic rock vibe, so fans are definitely excited to see this new side of our usual comedic relief. Check out some of the photos below! [ Thanks to bubblish266 for the tip! C: allkpop Daesung goes shirtless for “What’s Up” Earlier this year, Big Bang fans were treated to the news of Daesung’s participation in a new drama titled, “What’s Up”. Well, it looks like the drama is well on its way, as a promotional picture of the funny and adorable Daesung has just been unofficially released. Earlier today, a YG Entertainment trainer, who goes by the Twitter username of Hwangssabu, tweeted, “Big Bang’s secret weapon,” along with a photo of Daesung. But surprise surprise! It looks like Daesung buffed up since we last saw him! Although there hasn’t been much news about his new drama, the picture does give an aura of mysteriousness. Some of our tippers have even stated that the concept gives off a “Phantom of the Opera” vibe. What do you think? All I can say is…move over Taeyang, Daesung is here! Thanks to all our readers who sent in tips! And stay tuned as we bring you more updates on this upcoming drama! C: allkpop Big Bang’s Daesung to star in a new drama! Last year we reported that YG Entertainment turned down a lead role for T.O.P. in the upcoming drama ‘What’s Up, formerly known as ‘Zero Plus’ in search for another member of Big Bang to take the part. Well much to our delight, it has been revealed that Daesung will be replacing the spot originally reserved for T.O.P. In a previous statement, Yang Hyun Suk, the president of YG Entertainment, commented that they wanted to find a different member for the offered role since the part did not seem right for T.O.P. As Daesung has had some acting experience with his role in the musical ‘Cats’ in 2008, he would seem to be the perfect candidate for the role. Plus, the character he will be playing is a student who hopes to become a musical actor. Coincidence? Maybe, but who else out of the Big Bang crew could fit this role any better?! In addition, ‘What’s Up,’ which is about the romance and drama between students enrolled in the theatrical department of a university, was written by the well-known Song Jinah. Song Jinah has also previously written the hit dramas ‘Kaist’, ‘Sandglass’ and ‘The Story of the First King’s Four Gods’ which starred top actors Bae Yong Joon and Ko Hyun Jung. This drama is set to come out within the first half of this year, so make sure to catch it when it comes out! With the impressive lineup of actors and hit dramas, hopefully Daesung will live up to the standards of a Song Jinah creation and create a big bang (pun intended) in Korea’s acting industry! And keep checking back at allkpop as we bring you more developing news on this drama! C: allkpop
