this is a great idea to encourage cooking!

For Afghani food, try their qabili palau, "which consists of tender meat (usually lamb) domed under rice that's mixed with lentils, raisins and julienned carrots." It's considered their national dish! I've tried it once. Personally I thought it'd be some weird foreign dish but the flavors were pretty familiar!
