a href tag not working?

I tried to point fellow members to websites and I can't do it, unless people see the complete address. I used to be able to do that using the a href tag, for example, <a href="http://www.google.com">Google</a>,  


but it's not working anymore. Can any kind soul here help me, please? Thanks so much.
