the drama was created based on the idea of the love between an angry ant and the love-deprived grasshopper. The drama takes place on the beautiful island of Jeju, where a restaurant called ′Warm and Cozy′ is located. The Korean title, Mendorong Ttottot means ′warm and cozy′ in the Jeju dialect, and just like the meaning, the two main characters will learn to love each together.

Known for his good looks, eloquent speaking style, and gentle manners, Yoo Yeon Seok will be taking the role of Baek Geon Woo. Although he is all about what he likes and what he enjoys, Baek Geon Woo is a character that is still liked despite his brutally honest personality. Despite being an intellgient man who knows exactly what is good about himself, Baek Geon Woo is also a romantist, moving all the way to Jejudo and setting up a restaurant for the sole reason that the girl he likes is there.

Kang Sora will act as the crooked and complaining ′ant,′ Lee Jung Joo, who receives more pain and suffering in comparison to all the effort she′s put into life. Although she acts as if she knows everything in the world to put up a shield, she actually holds a very weak and gentle heart. After living in Seoul and working her butt off for five years, Lee Jung Joo still loses her job and her boyfriend, ending up in Jejudo to start a new life not by choice.

Kim Woo Bin must have a thing for girls born on February 18, 1990 because following Park Shin Hye in 'Heirs' he is up to star with Kang So Ra in Hong Sisters' new drama! The Hong Sisters are famous for their hilarious and squeal-worthy dramas like 'My Girl' and 'You're Beautiful', so it'll be interesting to see how Kim Woo Bin and Kang So Ra may fit into their scenarios.

The agencies of both actors also confirmed that they have received casting offers and are in talks about possibly taking on the roles.

Kim Woo Bin and Kang Sora in Talks for the New Hong Sisters’ Drama

kim-woo-bin-kang-sora.jpg

As it was reported on January that famous drama script writers, Hong Sisters, are in the process of making a new drama, many have been wondering who will be chosen as actors for their new project. Because Hong Sisters have been extremely successful with their past dramas such as “Master’s Sun,” “Greatest Love,” and “Big,” many actors have been eager to work with Hong Sisters.

So netizens are excited to hear that Kim Woo Bin and Kang Sora are in talks for this new Hong Sisters’ drama titled “Jejudo Gatsby” (literal translation).

“Jejudo Gatsby” is a romantic-comedy about young people who leave the busy city to live in Jeju Island. Although Hong Sisters were originally planning to write a drama about time traveling, they completely changed plans last month and started working on “Jejudo Gatsby.”

Meanwhile, Kim Woo Bin and Kang Sora’s agencies responded that although nothing is set in stone yet, they indeed are considering the roles.

Kim Woo Bin and Kang Sora Currently Looking Over Hong Sisters’ New Drama

Kim Woo Bin and Kang Sora are looking over writer team Hong Jung Eun and Hong Mi Ran (Hong sisters)’s new project.

An affiliate of SidusHQ, Kim Woo Bin’s agency, told Newsen on February 25, “Kim Woo Bin has recently been asked to star in MBC’s upcoming drama Jejudo Gatsby (tentative title) and is currently discussing his appearance in the drama. His appearance has not been confirmed.”

An affiliate of Will Entertainment, Kang Sora’s agency, told Newsen, “We’re positively considering Jejudo Gatsby but we’re not in the stage to confirm it yet.”

Kim Woo Bin starred in SBS’ The Heirs in 2013, leaving a firm impression with his acting, and has recently starred in Friend 2, The Technicians and Twenty, proving both his acting skills and popularity.

Having caught attention recently by starring in tvN’s Misaeng, Kang Sora has successfully acted opposite numerous popular actors in their 20s, including Lee Jong Suk and ZE:A’s Im Si Wan, which has been gathering more interest on her possibly acting opposite Kim Woo Bin.

Jejudo Gatsby is a romance drama set in Jejudo, directed by Park Hong Gyun PD and written by the Hong sisters. It was previously known to be a time slip drama but the synopsis has recently been edited to be a romance drama set in Jejudo. It has been reported that its comical elements have been intensified compared to before.

Park Hong Hyun PD and the Hong sisters worked together for MBC’s The Greatest Love in 2011 and have recently been carrying out the planning and casting process for Jejudo Gatsby. The Hong sisters became star writers through the projects such as Master’s Sun, Big, You’re Beautiful and more while Park Hong Gyun PD directed Queen Seon Deok and New Heart.

Meanwhile, Jejudo Gatsby will begin in May, following MBC’s Angry Mom, which is set to air following Kill Me Heal Me.

Kim Woo-bin and Kang So-ra are considered for Hong sisters' new drama, awaiting final confirmation

photo568993.jpg

Kim Woo-bin and Kang So-ra are on the final cast list for the leading roles in Hong sisters' new drama.

According to multiple sources from the broadcasting company on February 25th, Kim Woo-bin and Kang So-ra are positively considering their roles for MBC's new Wednesday & Thursday drama 'Jeju Island Gatsby', which is a collaboration between the writers, Hong Jeong-eun and Hong Mi-ran, also known as Hong sisters, and producer Park Hong-gyoon of 'The Greatest Love'.

It is drawing much attention whether or not the two super-hot stars will be able to meet in the new drama: the steadily successful actor, Kim Woo-bin who grabbed female fans' hearts for his role in "The Heirs", and the A-list actress Kang So-ra among the actresses in their 20s, who has proved her acting ability and earned viewers' heart with her desirable traits as an actress.

'Jeju Island Gatsby' is a romance drama depicting the youngsters who try to build a new life in Jeju Island away from heartless cities.

Hong sisters were originally planning to write a time travel drama throughout the period of Japanese occupation and the modern days. However, they changed the overall concept and started writing 'Jeju Island Gatsby", of which background is modern days in Jeju Island.

The drama is expected to be the biggest hit in the first half of this year once the young A-list actor and actress Kim Woo-bin and Kang So-ra have decided to join the brilliant team of the Hong sisters and producer, Park Hong-gyoon. The drama is scheduled to start airing in May after the completion of 'Kill Me, Heal Me' and "Angry Mom".

Kim Woo-bin and Kang So-ra offered leads in Hong sisters rom-com

kimwoobin_85.jpg

Yes, yes, and yes please — this is news I can get excited about, with Kim Woo-bin (Heirs) and Kang So-ra (Misaeng) surfacing as the first names to be courted for Jeju Island Gatsby, the new drama from the Hong sisters writing team and the director they worked with on the zany rom-com Best Love, PD Park Hong-kyun.

(It also makes me smile, since Kang So-ra had been previously mentioned in conjunction with this project, only to be swiftly denied by her management. Were they just being coy? No matter, since I’d much rather have Kang So-ra than not have her.)

Representatives for both stars confirmed that they’d received the offers, though no decisions have been made yet. The drama is, as you may have guessed, set in Jeju Island, where the two leads relocate to start fresh with a new life far from the harsh city. The Hongs had initially planned for their next drama to be a time-slip piece set in the Occupation years, but last month completely overhauled their concept as a contemporary romance.

Since the Hongs have a solid track record of launching young careers (Lee Da-hae, Han Ye-seul, Kang Ji-hwan) and revitalizing established ones (Cha Seung-won, So Ji-sub), there’s always a lot of interest in their casting choices. Kim Woo-bin and Kang So-ra have already established themselves as stars of their generation, but I would totally love to see them both being funny and cute together. Aside from Misaeng I’ve wanted Kang So-ra to do better projects (ahem, Doctor Stranger and Dream High 2), and I need a palate cleanser after Heirs just about killed my love of Kim Woo-bin. I’d totally get back on the love train with a good Hong sisters comedy, though!

Jeju Island Gatsby will be a Wednesday-Thursday MBC drama that follows Angry Mom, which follows Kill Me, Heal Me. It premieres in May.
