@misstear, @baytotoro, I am in agreement with
regarding calling Seung-Nyang a sl--t. You guys spoke so eloquently about the
subject I put my comment on the self, felt like you said it all. Although these
are my thoughts from last week would like to contribute.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, however, I do not
agree calling Seung-Nyang a sl--t. Am
truly happy that we can voice to agree or disagree and still remain on friendly
terms. There is no malicious intent or anger, just expressing my views.
Often wonder what in the world would I have done
as a slave?
Would I have been strong enough to survive?
Would I have survived to have descendants and
someone write a book or do a movie about my great feats?
Or would I have been stupid, said or did something
crazy, gotten lynched or chased down by blood hounds?
are questions I ask myself all of the time. For this reason to me it would be
dishonorable to Seung-Nyang’s character to call her a sl--t. Keep wondering how
it would feel to walk in her shoes? Forced to submit her body to someone whom
she does not love, to live in Yuan when her heart lives in Koryo with Wang Yoo.
How is she a sl--t? Women on this earth
from every walk of life have to endure a
lot of stuff in order to survive in this world, no matter how high or low
their social status.
if Seung-Nyang were a sl--t I would not call her one, she is just trying to
survive. Some have harped on her having babies by two different men. So? Emperor
TaHwan did not have a problem at all with her not being a virgin. Time and
space had lapsed, she had no intention of ever sleeping with the Emperor, and
she was trying wait for Wang Yoo. Those
scenarios have been happening throughout history, not condoning anything either.
The woman is a survivor, she has a warrior spirit, there are other ways to
fight wars without shedding blood, she is still fighting the battle as a woman
and a mother, it is difficult for me to call her TaHwan’s wife, however, these
are her new weapons of survival in order to save her country. On the
battlefield fighting alongside men prepared her for the job of Empress Ki. Seung-Nyang
simply moved from the battlefield to the home front. Yes she did make mistakes and should and could
have done a lot of things differently but she still has integrity and in my
view she is not a sl--t. I will give
her the benefit of the doubt because
I believe she downshifted into survival mode. It is truly amazing that she had
the ability go from holding a weapon of warfare to holding a baby at her
note: There was a case where a man kidnapped three young school girls, held
them captive until they were grown women and one of them had child by him. In his sick mind he thought that they were
one big happy family. The women finally escaped years later with the six year
old child. He was sentenced to life in prison but committed suicide while
there. Those women went through all kinds of hell, however, they survived to
tell their story, and all three were forced to sleep with him.
@SMP567. Wow! Such beautiful photos and your writing is out of this world too, no joke you almost brought me to tears. Like you said apparently Seung Nyang was chosen to accomplish what she did in history. Thank you.
