Usher stalker hospitalized for mental health issues

A woman accused of allegedly stalking Usher has been checked into a mental institution after claiming to be the singer's wife.

Darshelle Jones-Rakestraw was arrested at the 'Scream' singer's Atlanta home on June 24, after trying to enter the house by telling police she was married to the performer. 

Usher subsequently filed a restraining order against the 26-year-old, who maintained her innocence after the incident and alleges that the singer has been supporting her financially.

In documents obtained by TMZ, Jones-Rakestraw was in such an extreme mental state after her arrest that officers were forced to take her to a hospital instead of a jail.

Jones-Rakestraw was admitted to the Emory Johns Creek Hospital, where she underwent a mental health evaluation and was released shortly after.

She is expected to face the charges launched against her in court next month.
