Jun Ji Hyun considering return with ‘A Man from Star’ drama

Jun Ji Hyun could be set for a return to the small screen after a 14 year hiatus, through upcoming television drama ‘A Man from Star’ (working title).Jun’s management agency said, “Jun Ji Hyun has indeed received an invitation from the production team of SBS TV ‘A Man from Star’ to appear in the drama. But we haven’t gotten the drama script yet, and have not decided on whether Jun Ji Hyun will be in the drama. If it’s a good production, she will definitely consider it. She is currently going through offers for a production that will air in the latter half of the year.”
Jun Ji Hyun has been focused on starring in movies since her last television drama ‘Happy Together’ back in 1999, and has not been seen on the small screen in the past 14 years.
The script for ‘A Man from Star’ will be penned by screen writer Park Ji Eun who wrote ‘My Husband Got A Family’ previously, while Jang Tae Yoon will direct, who directed ‘Tree of Deep Roots the last time around. The drama is set for broadcast in December 2013.
‘A Man from Star’ is about an alien man who has good looks and ability who came from the Joseon Dynasty 400 years ago to the modern world and falls in love with an actress. Jun Ji Hyun is tipped to play the lead female role of Chun Sung Yi, while Kim Soo Hyun will play the alien man, Min Jun.

Jeon Ji Hyun and Kim Soo Hyun are reunited in upcoming SBS drama “Man From The Stars”

On August 16, HB Entertainment Production confirmed that Kim Soo Hyun and Jeon Ji Hyun will reunite in the upcoming SBS drama, “Man From The Stars”. Both actors appeared in 2012 top-grossing film, “The Thieves”.

Kim Soo Hyun will play the role of Do Min Jun, an alien who lived in Joseon era, 400 years ago up to modern times in Korea. Jeon Ji Hyun will play the role of Korea’s top-actress, Chun Sung Yi.

HB Entertainment representative said, “”We tried to cast the best actors that would fit the characters.”

This will be Jeon Ji Hyun’s comeback in the small screen. Her last drama was 1999 “Happy Together” and has been focusing on movie projects since then. Kim Soo Hyun’s last project was a huge-success movie, “Secretly, Greatly”.

Man From The Stars will be produced by Jang Tae Yoo (Tree With Deep Roots) and will be written by Park Ji Eun (You Who Rolled In Unexpectedly).

It will air sometime in December, 2013.

Actress Jun Ji-hyun has decided to appear in an SBS drama after a 14-year absence from TV soaps. The male lead is Kim Soo-hyun, who co-starred with her in the heist blockbuster "The Thieves" in 2012.

Actress Jun Ji-hyun has been designated as the new face representing French jewelry brand Didier Dubot.
“Rather than being an unmoving goddess, Jun is an example of a lively woman who radiates a vivacious charm that women in her generation desire. This is all expressed in her gestures and gazes,” the firm said in a statement. In photos for the brand, the actress looks deeply absorbed in feeling the wind that is whipping her hair into an artistic frenzy while expertly showing off the accessory pieces.
Born in 1981, she jumped to stardom as a fashion model in the late 1990s and then expanded into TV dramas and films. She married in April of last year and has since maintained in a low profile.
Meanwhile, she is reportedly making her return to the small screen through the SBS TV Wednesday-Thursday drama “You Who Came From the Stars.”
