CY gets up and asks for someone's sword.

Deokman hands him his sword.  Everyone looks at his hand that is holding it as he drags it off the floor.

He orders everyone to stand back.  He tells CS to escort the king out of there.

The king wants some of them to stay and help the captain.  CY does not want anyone to be involved as they will suffer his blade.

He tries to attack GC with the sword.  GC defends himself with a sword and knocks the sword again off CY's hands.

The Wudalchi and the King are frightened for CY.

CY backs up and picks up another sword.

CY asks CS what he is waiting for. He wants him to take the king away.

The king says he will stand behind him.

GC demands that the high doctor be brought to him.

CY says he cannot do that.

GC says that until he sees the high doctor, he will kill everyone in the palace one by one.

CY says that he will stop him.

GC mocks him, how can he fight him with his unsteady hand?

The king begs CY to back out this time because of his hand..

CY tells that king that he is fine.  It is just that the sword has become heavy.  He grasps the sword with two hands.

GC says that CY is spouting some nonsense.  Then he proceeds to attack him.  CY stops him.   

As they fight with their swords, CY is finally able to cut through GC's sword which loses its tip.

GC asks what type of sword it is that he has.  CY answers that it is a heavy sword.

Next Scene:

At Daejang's room. ES is finally awake, LC asks her how she is. But, instead of answering she asks where CY is. ES even after the overnight fight for her life still manages to think of CY first, awww!!! that’s love )

LC tells her that something came up in the palace, so CY went there for a while. ES still looks weak so LC asks her if she is feeling OK, ES says that she is still dizzy and her body is aching but she is thankful that it was not a dream she was afraid she was only dreaming everything. I totally understand ES’s anxiety here, after all... what happened to her is so unbelievable and out of this world that it might just be a long dream and she was affraid that she might wake up to reality and there is no CY ( 

LC tells ES that CY watched over her all night, ES assumed that CY must have been afraid. LC asks if the poison is gone so ES makes LC feel her temperature and checks her own pulse when LC confirms her fever is gone. ES is all fine making her hug LC who awkwardly hugs her back. LC is so much like her nephew so awkward with skinship )

Outside DM is running when he suddenly stop seeing something and hides... It’s Hwa-Eum killing everyone on their way. I can’t watch this, not because of the killings but why can’t they teach this two some sword choreography?! They are suppose to be the best killers but their movements are so awkward X( X( PD!!! Stab!..stab! DM alerts the remaining Wudalchi to protect ES.

In addition my discussion yesterday of the factors that lay at the root of Young's renewed motivation, I would like to draw attention to the way these details are underlined visually in this scene, firstly in the juxtaposition of Eun Soo's fight for survival with Young's own and secondly in the positioning of Gongmin and the Wudalchi during the battle against Ki Chul.





Eun Soo's fight to survive is beautifully paralleled with Young's concurrent struggle - just as Eun Soo taught Young with her determination to live, so is Young putting that lesson into action at his time of greatest need. The side-by-side treatment of their scenes, showing them fighting their individual fights "together," provides a powerful image. It is no coincidence that the moment Young regains the strength to pick up his "heavy" sword is intercut with Eun Soo's victory over the poison in her body and subsequent reawakening.



Gongmin's previous doubts in Young's loyalty have also been replaced by absolute faith, symbolized by Gongmin standing behind Young in an expression of support. In contrast to the scene in Episode 21 where Gongmin had asked Young, "Until when must I stand behind you?" in reference to his own weakness and need for protection, Gongmin's position behind Young is now a show of strength. This symbolism of Young being reinforced by his support crew is reflected in the formation of the Wudalchi behind him.

Like Gongmin, the Wudalchi is a group to whom Young feels honor-bound to protect; in one way they are a "burden," but it is also their unconditional loyalty and support that provides Young with strength. The sacrifice of Dol Bae not only gives Young an added jolt of motivation and anger-fueled adrenaline, but also serves to underline the Wudalchi's loyalty to their general regardless of his mental or physical state. Furthermore, Dol Bae's sacrifice results from his attempt to step forward into the frontline in the place of his general - symbolically attempting to shoulder Young's burden, but failing to do so. His death perhaps nails home the message to Young that his men and his king supports him wholeheartedly, but in the end it is only he who can step up to take up his burden; no one else can do it for him.

Back in the barracks, ES is awake.  LC sees her getting up and rushes to her side.  She tells her that she was feverish the whole night.  Is she alright?

ES is looking around for CY.  LC tells her that he had to attend to a matter in the palace.

ES says that she is just feeling dizzy and achy all over.

LC tells her that CY was watching over her the whole night.

ES says that he must have been feeling afraid for her the whole time.

Lady Choi asks her is the poison has been detoxified.  ES is not sure.  She takes LC's hand and puts in on her forehead.  LC is happy that her fever has gone down.  ES takes her pulse.  Then she says that before her pulse was fast and irregular but now….she thinks that she will live.  

LC hugs her as she is happy to hear that and gives her awkward pats as ES cries in relief.

LOL @HanjaeI know. Darn PD had to start the final episode by breaking our's, Daejang's and the woodalchi puppies' hearts. Thank god I have prepared a lot of tissues in case you PT spring some on me too. )
