[star of the Week] Five Moments when Lee Min Ho Let his Bad Boy Self Out

2012-08-27 09:30  l   CJ E&M enewsWorld Grace Danbi Hong http://enewsworld.mnet.com/enews/cont.. icon_copy_1.gif
He smiles all the time. He takes care of his fans. He does good deeds.

But even a superstar like Lee Min Ho can’t be a gentleman all the time, so we’ve picked out five moments in Lee Min Ho’s career when he wasn’t the most romantic or gentle guy we know him as (but loved anyways).

Boys Over Flower: Gu Jun Pyo

Playboy Who Loses in his Own Game

Lee Min Ho featured in Sandara Park’s music video for Kiss and showed his bad boy player side. He bets his friends that he can seduce Sandara Park and kisses her on the cheek. He buys her all these expensive outfits and shoes and invites to her some fancy party. Maybe he does end up liking her for real at one point, but the joke’s on him, because Sandara Park ends up being the toying with him. That’s why you shouldn’t play games with the heart.

City Hunter: Lee Yoon Sung

Not a gentleman, but a complete badass in SBS’s City Hunter, Lee Min Ho sort of played the modern Robin Hood, who sought to clear out all the corrupt politicians.

We all know violence is not the answer, but for the record, he didn’t kill anyone - just beat down on them a bit. And he managed to keep his manners when he fought with a bad lady, but still taught her a stern lesson. He did what he had to do, even if it meant breaking all the rules.

No One is a Match for Lee Min Ho – He Can Only Fight Himself

Crashing weddings is one thing, but impersonating your twin brother to avoid going to prison? Yup, definitely not a gentleman thing to do. But don’t worry, because the trustworthy Camry will solve all of the problems.

And lastly…

Not Truly Badass Until You Have the James Dean Hairstyle

…which Lee Min Ho pulls off almost too well, as if he’s naturally a rebel without a cause. Just look at the look of discontent and bitterness he has for society burning in his eyes. We wonder what kind of trouble he′s up to today.

So there are our five bad boy moments for Lee Min Ho.
Which ones are your favorites? Are there other moments you know?

[NEWS]Lee Min Ho Gets the Action Going on ‘Faith’

Lee Min Ho finally waged an all-out action war for his viewers.

On the August 27 broadcast of SBS’ Faith, Choi Young (Lee Min Ho) recovered from his fatal wounds and charged forth Choi Young style.

60179122.jpg

As soon as he gained consciousness, Choi Young heard that Eun Soo (Kim Hee Sun) had been taken away by Gi Chul (Yoo Oh Sung). Jang Bin (Lee Philip) tried to get Choi Young to stay put, saying that Eun Soo had gone on King Gong Min’s (Ryu Deok Hwan) orders.

Choi Young, however, headed into enemy territory to save Eun Soo. He put his life at stake to get over the obstacles and charge his enemies head on. He made it into Gi Chul’s home alone, and shook off the steady stream of Gi Chul’s minions as he progressed forward. Lee Min Ho managed to make Choi Young ever more charismatic and believable by putting on his best action scenes.

After the episode aired, the drama’s viewer boards saw a flood of posts reading, ‘I wasn’t expecting Lee Min Ho to put on action like this’, ‘He was like a flying master’ and ‘His kicks and slashes weren’t like any other. He’s the king of charisma.’

Choi Young also made his viewers curious about what he was thinking when he said he loved Eun Soo to make Gi Chul let her go.

Just before he was able to get Eun Soo completely out of Gi Chul’s home, Choi Young met with Gi Chul’s gang.

He pointed at Eun Soo and then shouted at Gi Chul, “This is because I love the one standing [here]. What kind of man would do nothing when the woman he loves has been dragged to this unknown place?”

Eun Soo took his words to be an expression of his true emotions, getting viewers to look forward to what will happen to their relationship in the future.

class="blog_h2 entry-title"[News]Lee Min Ho is given artificial respiration by Kim Hee Sun on Faith

August 28, 2012 11:00 am eternalc2h

The viewing rate of SBS TV’s drama series Faith went down.

According to the report from AGB Nielsen Media Research issued on August 28, the August 27 episode of SBS TV’s drama series Faith recorded a viewer rating of 10.6 percent. This is 0.9 percent lower than the August 21 episode’s, which was 11.5 percent.

Faith recorded the second highest viewing rate among the drama series airing at the same time.

In the latest episode, painful memories of Choi Young (played by Lee Min Ho) about his lover are revealed. Having suffered from aftereffects of a stab wound he received from Yoo Eun Soo (played by Kim Hee Sun), Choi Young eventually ceases breathing and faces death. However, Yoo Eun Soo tries artificial respiration, and he survives. The reason he has been unconscious despite the fact that he had successful surgery is because he has no will to live.

The fact that he had to let his lover Mae Hee go in the past has been ruining his life.

MBC TV’s drama series Golden Time recorded a viewer rating of 13.3 percent and KBS 2TV’s Haeundae Lovers recorded 9.1 percent.

class="blog_h2 entry-title"[News]Lee Min Ho and Kim Hee Sun spend a night together in a mountain area on Faith

Lee Min Ho and Kim Hee Sun spend a night together in a mountain area.

In the sixth episode of SBS TV’s drama series Faith, which will air on August 28, Choi Young (played by Lee Min Ho) and Yoo Eun Soo (played by Kim Hee Sun) set off a long journey alone tricked by Ki Cheol (played by Yoo Oh Sung) and spend a night together in a mountain area.

In this episode, Yoo Eun Soo talks about herself, getting closer to Choi Young.

In some snapshots of a scene from the episode recently released, Yoo Eun Soo is saying something to Choi Young, lying on a blanket, and Choi Young is staring at her with an expressionless face. These snapshots show different personalities of the two characters.

Their eyes directed to each other seem romantic. However, an unwelcome guest will appear in front of them and increase tension.

A spokesperson for Faith says, “Choi Young and Yoo Eun Soo will get closer to each other while they are on this long journey.”

In the sixth episode, Ki Cheol’s scheme gets revealed as Kyung Chang, Choi Young’s former master, appears in front of Choi Young, and Choi Young falls into danger again.

[DRAMA WEEK]6 TV series that were inches away from clinching SDA nomination

2012082709570382768_2.jpg

The 2012 Seoul International Drama Awards is just around the corner and this Thursday's awards ceremony is opening with 24 TV series nominated from 201 international submissions.0

Including the shortlisted MBC "Moon Embracing the Sun" (2012) and "Deep Rooted Tree" (2011), organizers of the 7th SDA have carefully chosen some impressing Korean dramas aired between January, 2011 and May, 2012. But this is not enough to show how the small screen projects have been developing in its size and volume in Korea.

Kstar10 has selected six TV series aired during the period on three major broadcasters--SBS, KBS and MBC--which were just inches away from being nominated at the 2012 SDA.

SBS "City Hunter" (May-July, 2011)

“City Hunter” is collaboration between Lee Min-ho and Park Min-young that helped the pair’s on-screen romance to develop into a real relationship. Perhaps it is the strong chemistry they had during the shooting that made the viewers empathize with the characters. But above all, TV critics gave credits for the writer and director’s attempt to engage in pressing social issues, such as employees contracting leukemia or lymphoma after being exposed to unhealthy working conditions in semiconductor factories ? which people assume is targeting Samsung, the biggest electronics manufacturer here. Being brave on shining a spotlight on a broad range of social issues, “City Hunter” kept its ratings high by focusing on elements that all comes down to the same conclusion: ‘Empathy.’

Lee Min Ho recently became a man of the fall.

On August 28, Trugen released a pictorial of Lee for the fall and winter of 2012. In the pictorial, Lee shows off nice looks in suits in brown and grey coats. He is also dressed like a new, fresh college student in a casual navy-blue knit shirt and a checked shirt.

This pictorial for Trugen was created under three different concepts – Digital, Horseback Riding, and Carpenter – with Lee, who is currently popular as the lead actor of the drama series Faith.

People responded: “Lee Min Ho looks so attractive.” “Lee Min Ho looks nice in those suits.” “I want my boyfriend to get dressed like Lee Min Ho.”
