She's so pretty in that dress. I think her real wedding dress was a mermaid style one. She also looks lovely in that hanbok. Congrats to her and her now husband!

She talked about the first meeting with her husband and the process leading up to their marriage. There were over 200 foreign and domestic reporters that day at the press conference.

The camera flashes were relentless as soon as Jun stepped up to the podium wearing a Jenny Packham wedding dress from the famed British designer.

Actress Jun Ji-hyun ties the knot

By Cho Chung-un (christory@heraldm.com)

Top actress Jun Ji-hyun, a.k.a. Gianna Jun, married a Korean businessman at Hotel Shilla in central Seoul on Friday, waving goodbye to single life.

She tied the knot with Choi Jun-hyeok, the grandson of acclaimed hanbok designer Lee Young-hee and the son of also famous fashion designer Lee Jeong-woo.

“I feel nervous but I will make a return for those who supported me by showing them my happy married life,” said Jun during a press conference held at the hotel just hours before her wedding.

At the ceremony, the 31-year-old actress wore a beautiful wedding gown designed by Lebanese designer Reem Acra delivered directly from the designer’s shop in New York, while she chose another goddess-like dress embellished with sparkling crystal from British designer Jenny Packham for the press conference. Singer Lee Jeock, known to be one of Jun’s favorites, sang a wedding song for the couple, the agency said.

The agency added that Jun will continue her acting career after the marriage.

Her husband Choi currently is working at Bank of America’s Seoul branch, according reports. The two have known each other since they were in their early 20s, and started dating about a year ago.

Rumors spread earlier this year that the two would soon marry after news came out in December that they were dating. Jun’s mother-in-law Lee is known to have recently introduced Jun to her friends as her future daughter-in-law. The actress confirmed of her marriage last month.

Jun, who debuted in 1997 as a fashion model, rose to stardom after the mega-hit 2001 movie “My Sassy Girl.” She made her English-language debut in 2009 with the film “Blood: The Last Vampire,” and recently starred in the movie “Snow Flower and the Secret Fan” with Hollywood star Hugh Jackman and top Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi. Her new movie, “The Thieves” will be released this summer.

Jun Ji Hyun Sets an Example for Celebrity Weddings with Donation

Source:Nate l CJ E&M enewsWorld Oh, MiJung Translation Credit : Erika Kim

Jun Ji Hyun held her wedding without any support from large companies, and she also revealed that she would donate the monetary gifts she received for the wedding to charity.

At the ceremony held on April 13 at the Seoul Shilla Hotel, Jun Ji Hyun wed her groom Choi Joon Hyuk, and then revealed through her agency on April 14 that "the monetary gifts for the wedding will be donated to an organization supported by designer Lee Young Hee."

Even when her fans tried to gather money to send her flower wreaths and gifts, she had said, "I plan on not receiving any flower wreaths, so unfortunately, I won′t be able to receive the gifts my fanclub has been preparing."

She had stated that she will be turning down flower wreaths even during her preparations for the wedding. She also said, "In order to hold the ceremony quietly and to make it more meaningful, we aren′t receiving any support from companies."

After her marriage became known near the beginning of the year, Jun Ji Hyun continued to turn down offers for support from wedding related companies. In the press conference held before her wedding, she had revealed that she had bought her dress herself. Jun Ji Hyun′s stylist had brought the dress in from overseas.

For the press conference, she wore a dress by British designer Jenny Packham, and a Reem Acra dress from America for her actual wedding. The dresses were expensive, but rather than be simply luxurious, they were more graceful in style.

Jun Ji Hyun also turned down offers for makeup, and had her makeup done by her original makeup artist Bae Kyung Ran.

Because Jun Ji Hyun has to shoot the film Berlin soon, the couple pushed back its honeymoon to the fall. Honeymoons also draw in a lot of support from companies, but because the couple decided on not going on the honeymoon yet, all chances for support were cut off.

Congrats to Ji-hyun and her new hubby! She looks gorgeous and I love her wedding dress, so elegant and classy. And I love what I could see of the special hanbok her grandmother-in-law designed for her, the colours are lovely and suit her well. Would have liked to see pics of her groom as well, wonder why he didn't attend the press conference with her?

Anyway, congrats once again, Ji-hyun! Wishing you many years of marital bliss with your hubby! ^_^

The Thieves releases introductory trailer

by javabeans dramabeans.com

525_thieves_3.jpg

Here’s the trailer for The Thieves, which may be the movie I’m most looking forward to right now, because despite its less-than-original plot (a diamond heist that’s basically Ocean’s Eleven in Macau), it’s got a killer cast, a skilled director (Jeon Woo Chi, Tazza), and looks snazzy and fun to boot.

I’ll never assume a project is awesome just because it’s got a fantastic cast, but you can hardly thumb your nose at this one: Lee Jung-jae (The Housemaid), Kim Hye-soo (Villain & Widow), Jeon Ji-hyun (Blood: The Last Vampire), Kim Yoon-seok (The Chaser), Kim Soo-hyun (The Moon that Embraces the Sun), Oh Dal-soo (Detective K), Kim Hae-sook (Thousand Day Promise).

The poster above reads, “Ten thieves. One diamond. They’re on the move.”

With so many characters, the teaser is basically a brief intro to each one. The ten teammates scheme to steal a diamond from a casino in Macau and operate using nicknames, so we’ve got characters like shrewd mastermind Popeye (Lee Jung-jae), legendary safecracker Pepsi (Kim Hye-soo), tightrope-walking Anycall (Jeon Ji-hyun), gum-snapping Chewing Gum (Kim Hae-sook, who poses as a mother-daughter pair with Jeon), “cowardly gunman” Andrew (Oh Dal-soo), and romanticist rookie Zampano (Kim Soo-hyun).

Then there are the Chinese contacts: leader Chen (Simon Yam), Johnny (Derek Tsang), and Julie (Angelica Lee). At the end of the trailer, Jeon Ji-hyun’s on the phone call with a guy who asks, “Whatcha doin’?” She replies, “Stealing.”

The Thieves releases in July.
