This drama is quite interesting...it's one of the few dramas I sort of pay attention to...even though I don't really sit down and watch it, I do listen to what's going on.

I must say...the brother 'Lee-Lah' is hilarious. The way he acts/talks/moves around...is weird/awkward, BUT!!! He's one of my favorite character's in this drama. Hmm, what i'm trying to say is...he makes this drama look more alive i guess...he's like the only character that is funny...though at times I thought he was annoying with how he spoke and stuff...but he grew on me.

And Seu-La aka LeeSooKyung...she's pretty (seen her from Real Romance Love Letter Season Two Show)...but is it me or is her voice so annoying??? It's so high pitched...but I guess she's making her voice a lot higher pitched than usual.

There are a lot of characters I hate and like in this drama. But hah, the hating doesn't stop me from being interested in what's going to happen next...so I'm going to keep looking forward to the next episodes...just for Lee-Lah, lol.

hmmn... since i'm at it ... anyone else knows if that girl who played the news anchor sister talks like this in real life? what's with all this baby talk ... i know she's suppose to be a gongju & all that but still ... gosh ... makes me feel like chungha is gonna be fathering her if they get together. but she's pretty so i guess we can overlook that baby talk.

ah ... i remember what lunagal wrote about him worrying about her health & telling her about the snake potion. ... but i was just curious 'coz he didn't seem to have said anything to her like hey i saw you fainting in spain & all that ... so i was wondering if ja-kyung knew.

you notice it too??? i don't find that twin girl talk that funny but yeah ... anchor guy's sister with her baby talk is & ja-kyung talk really funny too. i commented it to a friend who told me that he read that she received a lot of criticism about her acting & the way she talk ... ja-kyung i mean ... apparently she's trying to improve herself by taking lesson or getting help or something? maybe it has something to do with her nose? :x

oh yes ... seems like ja-kyung is already interested in wang-mo? ... 'coz she bought the outfit with him in mind. the one that the horrid stepmom/adopted mom(?) borrowed without permission. i wonder if that gay twin will fall for gong-ju. that lee-lah guy sure have such a good body though!

Thanks Mily2 for uploading the episodes for us. I think this is a good drama that is worth watching. This is a sad story, I was crying when the lead actress was being mistreated by her stepmother(such an evil witch).

If I am not mistaken, Seu-La (I might be spelling her name in Konglish wrong) is the news anchor guy's sister...that talks all high pitched. She's also the friend of Lee-La's twin sister.

Emily - thanks for restarting this thread! I was depending on the info posted here to help me understand...I did manage to save the translations for the first 4 eps though.

Ep 01

In some square in Spain, Chungha (JoYeonWoo) is in the middle of filming a drama, "Happiness in Madrid", receiving his makeup from JaKyung (YoonJunghee). He has a kissing scene with a Spanish woman and mischievously asks JaKyung what he should do. Jakyung tells him that he has to do it the way it in the script and as the two kiss (the actress and Jakyung), she adverts her eyes. After this, she walks around and feels a sense of loneliness.

(It actually says here that Mihyang, the stepaunt turns on Jakyung's computer but in the drama, she turns on Chungha's computer and discovers pictures of Jakyung on there.) Mihyang is uncomfortable w/all this.

In Spain, Chungha and Jakyung go to watch a bullfight and Whangmo (LeeTaegon), who is there on a newspaper story, notices her crying as she watches the bullfight. Jakyung faints shortly after the bullfighter "kills" the bull and Whangmo is left with a deep impression of Jakyung. Sura is also in Italy with her mom, Youngsun who receives a call and also a photo of Jakyung five years ago.

Ep 02

Youngsan, who has looked at Jakyung's pictures, vows that she will find her again. Whangmo goes to see his mom and the sister in the hotel. Aeri, who went on a "sun" actually sets her hair on fire.

Whangmo discovers that he will be on the morning news as an anchor. Aeri, who also works at the studio shows interest in Whangmo, who she meets in the cafeteria and has a short conversation with.

Chungha and Jakyung tour throughout Spain, while Youngsan is doing the same and they almost cross paths. Chungha gives Jakyung a necklace as a gift. Jakyung looks at the sky and thinks/says that her mother is also looking at the same sky and feels a sad feeling (as Youngsan is sitting a couple benches down). Youngsan who is also looking at the sky, asks the sky to help her find her daughter.

Ep 03

Chungha and Jakyung return to Korea and then Mihyang and Jakyung's stepmom ask Jakyung about her relatoinship with Chungha (I think this was actually in Episode 2) but Jakyung tells them to not interfere in their business. Jakyung asks Chungha what he wants to do and they break up b/c he doesn't know what to do. They hug, she returns the necklace but asks that if she's having a hard time, that if she calls him to pick up and then he leaves.

Aeri came out the airport to welcome back Sura and the mom. Whangmo brings a glass of cold coffee to the stepmom and the mom asks about him dating and talks to herself, saying she wants to introduce LeeJakyung to him but then the grandmother (who was also at the airport) comes in and says that Whangmo should try and date Aeri who looked awfully pretty at the airport. Youngsan then goes to the front of Jakyung's house and waits for her to come.

Ep 04

Youngsun goes and finds Jakyung's house. Youngsun watch Jakyung return from the studio late at night but they are unable to meet. After Youngsun returns to her house, she calls Jakyung's cellphone from Whangmo's phone and after listening to her voice is able to

On the other hand, early in the morning, Whangmo is preparing to be the newsanchor is about to call his friend and notices the unknown number and calls it. Jakyung who isn't very happy w/her stepmother, is not very happy getting a phone call from a number that she is seeing for the first time, answers the phone kinda rudely. Then Youngsun calls and Jakyung and Youngsun set up a time to meet each other.

Sura and Aeri meet and Aeri asks Sura if she has ever liked anybody. Sura replies that she likes Chungha and Aeri says that she likes Whangmo.

I watched all 8 eps in 2 days and although I didn't understand a word, I'm hooked on this drama. It's funny how I don't know most of the actors or Korean but I find this drama interesting so far. The only one I recognized is Wang-Mo's grandmother. I believe she also played a grandmother in A Hymn of Love but the characters are so different. There she was so mean and straight and in this one, she is such a warm and loving person. She goes cycling in her cycling outfits…just don’t see that in K-dramas too often…

Between the two male leads, I'm more attracted to Wang-mo's character. Something about him (perhaps the actor) that draws me to him more. As for Sura and Aeri, at first I'd trouble figuring out who is who everything they appear together esp. the beginning eps when both had long hair. Sura is such a spoiled brat...having both her brother and grandma doting on her all the time. I don't know the actress who plays Ja-kyung but her nose is almost too prominent for her face and it distracts me sometimes...haha...

I have a lot of questions and I hope someone who understands Korean can help...

1. Ja-kyung lives with her stepmother. Do just the two of them live together? Is that the stepmother’s room with the blue plaid-like bedspread? Ja-kyung went in there a couple of times like she’s looking for something and I was wondering whose room it was and what she’s looking for.

2. Where is Ja-kyung’s father? If it is that guy living with his wife (who moved into the hotel) and mother, did he divorce the stepmother? If so, why is Ja-kyung living with her and not with him? Does he not know about her? Ja-kyung’s relationship with her stepmother really confuses me…I don’t know why she’s still living with her when it’s obvious that she’s mistreated by the stepmother & aunt. I wonder why she didn’t move it on her own.

3. Ja-kyung doesn’t know her mother’s name? When her birth mother gave her name when they met, it didn’t seem like it rang a bell with Ja-kyung. Also, were her birth parents ever married? Or the mother had the baby out of wedlock?

4. Is Wang-mo’s father dead or away? Seems like he is not around, just the mother and grandma. I assume his family is really well-off...seems like Aeri's mom's eyes lit up when Aeri was talking about him? (I'd be totally off here...)

5. Did Ja-kyung’s birth mother plan to get her and Wang-mo together at the start (when she found her)? I wonder if that means she will never reveal herself as the mother…Seems like Wang-mo’s grandma wanted him to go out with Aeri?

6. What was the argument between that couple where the wife moved into a hotel? It seems that his mother befriended Wang-mo’s grandma…it’d be interesting if they turn out to be related somehow (via Ja-kyung)…

I guess I’m really confused with Ja-kyung’s family relationships…but I plan to continue watching as of now…hope Purpletiger can give us brief summaries or answer our questions if she watches also…

well ... i'm not korean but this is what i gather from watching the drama & some help from some friends & also people who posted in this thread before soompi breaks down.

i don't think ja-kyung remembers her birth mom ... she's an adopted child. probably born out of wedlock. no idea why we're calling her mom ... her stepmom though. i'm guessing since she lived with the stepmom/adopted mom ... that the husband is dead? i've been wondering the same thing about this suh-young(?) person they kept looking for in that room. no sign of this person so far. i mean she even looked for that person to eat that ice-cream wang-mo gave her. so weird ...

i think her birth dad is the guy whose wife moved to the motel. apparently i was told that they had a son who died but the wife had the husband go through a vasectomy so they can't have any more children. the mother in law is at her about having an heir but the husband is not too keen on it himself? i think he's still in love with ja-kyung's birth mom who's probably his chut sarang/first love. and it's probably his mom who break them up. maybe that's why ja-kyung's mom had to give away her baby for adoption.

then later on she marries wang-mo's dad and had that daughter. i think she's widowed now?

the only thing i do wonder is if the old lady of the childless couple ... know that her son's first love ie. ja-kyung's mom was pregnant last time. and she being grandchild-less now.

sura & wang-mo's sister are helping each other get the guys they each liked ... ie. sura & aeri's uncle and aeri & wang-mo. so aeri's been prompting her grandma to support a match between wang-mo & her best friend. but of course the mom is not too keen since she's set her eyes on wang-mo & ja-kyung. since she's looking at having ja-kyung with wang-mo (which is the storyline of this drama anyway) ... i don't think she plan to reveal the truth to ja-kyung about being her birth mother. but of course ... this is kdrama so it will all be revealed later on?

i'm curious as to ja-kyung's step aunt's relationship with the family of the lady who moved to motel though. so much awkwardness there.

Yeah, same here. I think it was in the first ep. when the step aunt was in a boutique and the old lady walked in - the step aunt seemed kinda afraid of the old lady. I didn't understand why the other woman poured water on the step aunt, did you?

Despite Wang-mo and Ja-kyung's getting together is a given, I'm interested in how their relationship develops in the upcoming eps. I wonder how they'd feel when they find out about Ja-kyung's real relationship with his stepmother, esp. if they find out after they are married. Even though there is no blood relation, it is still a shock, wouldn't you say?

How old is Wang-mo's sis supposed to be in the drama? I'm curious because she's such a baby and doesn't seem to go to school or work or anything.

Btw, anyone knows how many eps will there be???
