Guest Fanoo
KBS, MBC ...A lot of you wanted to watch streaming videos but failed with online sites and tired of TVants crashing all the time, right? Here is the solution. For the moment, it worked to all the time. Vista for sure, XP at least...i think Mac too. Well it works. Personally the image goes smoothly. But some people still get freezing images sometimes. 1/ Download VLC 0.8.5 http://www.oldapps.com/VLC_Player.php Very important : this tutorial may not work for latest versions of VLC (9.0 or more i think...) To check your version of VLC: Help > About... EDIT: Some say that this method also works with newer version of VLC. It also works with WMP and Gom Player (press Alt to get Menu > same method) So yeah...just try. I read somewhere that there are some problems with WMP and streaming links. > Still want to watch with WMP ? 2/ Follow these steps a- File > Network b- HTTP/HTTPS/FTP/MMS c- Paste the stream link (it automaticaly paste in the bottom box) d- Tick the buffering/caching button. Let the defaut value. (i've put Optional but in fact it's Mandatory) e- Ok > Enjoy! ^^ Official Stream Links: (help this tutorial by giving other stream link ^^) (Official links don't work during a major sporting event outside of Korea) KBS mms://kbslive.nefficient.co.kr/kbslive_2tv MBC mms://live.imbc.com/OnAirTV Arirang TV (eng) http://www.arirang.co.kr/Player/Live_World.asx OBS TV mms://obs-live.obs.co.kr/obs Jeju Island mms://media1.kctvjeju.com/live05 Non-official Stream Links: credits to: Nzell.com and a few other Korean Boards Note: Some of these links work better in Windows Media Player then VLC. The image might freeze from time to time. It's no big deal. Actually it's a good sign if you just get the image/sound for 3sec then freezing. Just retry again. There is no buffering time like in TVants, so hopefully you won't miss a lot. About Caching option: What the Caching option is, for people that like to tinker a bit, is setting how much of the stream you want to pre-download before the video starts. So a caching amount of 5700 means that you are downloading the video in 5700 millisecond chunks. Fast internet connection: You can easily increase this amount to get a smoother picture. Low internet connection: Dropping the value should help. For Vista users: the computer automaticaly changes to Aero. Don't freak out XD 4/ Still not working at all? I don't know...be persistent XD If you have a problem about the steps and stuff, you can PM me. Or leave a comment. PS: Thanks lordbordem

Guest lordbordem
I'll add some input into this since the clubbox thread is pretty quiet lately 1:) The note about this not working on the newer VLC is incorrect, im currently using VLC 0.8.6d and it works fine. 2:) These links are actually the official ones available from the broadcaster sites, and there is a few issues with them, sometimes they have licensing issues which prevent them from showing content on their internet channel so if a link doesn't load this could be the reason. Actually this only happens during a major sporting event outside of Korea, so besides that, it should be fine. 3:) What the Caching option is, for people that like to tinker a bit, is setting how much of the stream you want to pre download before the video starts. So a caching amount of 5700 means that you are downloading the video in 5700 millisecond chunks. if you got a reasonable fast internet connection, you can easily increase this amount to get a smoother picture, or if you're video is lagging abit, dropping the value should help. 4:) Here is a larger list of tv channels, haven't had a chance to try them all but they should work credits to http://www.nzell.com/zbxe/?document_srl=10...d=bbs_tvchannel and a few other Korean Boards there is more channels there but these are the main ones. its worth checking that site because the links are updated on a regular basis also some of these links work better in Windows Media Player then VLC so its worth considering that point KBS mms://211.233.90.220/kbslive_2TV MBC mms://211.39.135.77/OnAirTV mms://118.46.233.19/tvs mms://211.117.193.99/tvkj mms://211.115.127.29/live mms://218.235.149.10/081221810_tv mms://210.114.220.120/masanmbctv mms://210.221.163.25/encoder-tv mms://210.114.221.153/busanmbc_tv_onair_2594 mms://121.189.151.7/tv mms://124.217.205.248/tv_live mms://211.223.35.241/HDTV3 mms://211.223.35.241/YSTV1026 mms://61.104.214.170/rnrcks mms://211.180.199.208/wjmbctv mms://210.105.237.100/qqeoiruqpowieruqweiruoiweur mms://210.114.174.235/jeju_tvonair SBS mms://59.30.196.99/GTBLive8241 mms://61.80.90.52/vod mms://203.251.80.180/tbc_tv mms://211.220.195.199/tvlive?f4yWFnv5tsGmzBrLNrz7FQ00 mms://218.146.252.65/cIubtv2 5:) The option next to the caching tickbox is an option to save the stream you are watching, feel free to try it if you want, i haven't had enough time to mess around with it in enough detail to post a tutorial here but it should be pretty self explanatory
Guest Fanoo
^ Wow thanks for all those links *o* I'll check which link are ok with VLC. So it works with 8.6? Cool. I just added that note for people who are totally new with VLC and who download the very latest version of the software (9.0+ or something like that). Thanks for the explanation of the caching option. Actually i didn't even know what it meant ^^;; But i knew i had to click on it.

Guest huangsy
Not very popular channels but Korean and works with VLC (and also KMplayer) and have interesting programs now and then -> OBS TV mms://obs-live.obs.co.kr/obs and (dunno what station but guess could be local to Jeju Island) mms://media1.kctvjeju.com/live05 BTW, above post says certain links actually work better with WMP but is it true that MMS links do NOT work with WMP11 ? I roll backed to version 9 but still have problems. Not sure about version 10.
Guest Fanoo
^ I have WMP 11 and mms links don't work. This is why i thought about using VLC instead. I don't even understand why... I'll add your links on the first post ^^

It doesnt work for me. newer versions of VLC actually do work. just know how to use it heh. How ? Care to give some tips?
Guest aneng
I thought I'm the only one who can't watch through WMP. T__T Tvants and kong player doesnt work for me. I think it somehow connects with my WMP. T__T BTW... thanks for more links to watch!
Guest lordbordem
Is it the same as button shortcut of Ctrl+U ? It doesnt work for me. How ? Care to give some tips? Yes it is Ctrl+U but im guessing WMP support only works for me for some odd reason, probably better to just use VLC. The new VLC doesn't have any differences, just follow the instructions above and it should work fine
Guest Fanoo
^ Maybe it was just me but newer version of VLC didn't work. Even with the same method =_= And it seems that it didn't work for other people too. No need to speak about WMP11. Mine even has problems with .flv videos =_= (Yes i know about codecs, but whatever...long live GomPlayer ^^) I'll add that info on the first post though... Guest huangsy
Forgot to add that for both the mms URL for KBS2, if you change the TV station/channel number to "1", that would be the mms link for KBS TV1, which now and then has popular drama too. Besides GOM player, the other popular player of Korean origin is KMplayer. That said, recently I had issues viewing a few of the above MMS URLs with KMPlayer and even posted at their forum but no solution. For MMS urls that work, I find the KMplayer easier for video capture than VLC. KMplayer has a Storyboard maker, very good for getting a collage of screencaps (not sure if GOM has this feature?)
