if you were to compare the Hmong & Vietnamese with Southern Chinese, which group is closer relation with Chinese ethnic?

I know China has a very large Hmong / Meo ethnic group but are they blood related? the Vietnamese seem to be more culturally related but Im not sure about blood relations?
