Hyungsik, Seo Kang Jun, and more in talks for new KBS 2TV weekend drama

Multiple insiders told Sports Seoul on April 30, "Seo Kang Jun has been cast in the role of Jun Su in 'Why Are Families Being Like This'. He is set to star alongside Hyungsik andNam Ji Hyun and Yoo Dong Geun who will most likely star in the drama." If their casting is confirmed, Hyungsik and Nam Ji Hyun will be the leading couple in the drama.

According to Seo Kang Jun's agency Fantagio on the 30th, Seo Kang Jun received the casting offer for the male lead's friend Jun Su. The rep stated, "There is a high chance that Seo Kang Jun will star in 'Why Are Families Being Like This'. There are still scheduling issues to work out."

'Why Are Families Being Like This', written by 'Baker King Kim Tak Gu' and 'Book of the House of Gu's writer Kang Eun Kyung, portrays the dysfunctional families of this generation. The drama is set to air following 'Very Good Days' in August!

Actor Kim Sang-Kyung is cast in upcoming autumn KBS2 weekend drama series WHAT'S WITH THIS FAMILY (literal title of "Gajokkkiri Wae Irae").

In the drama series, Kim Sang-Kyung will play the lead male character Moon Tae-Joo. The drama series follows the chaotic daily lives of a family, with Moon Tae-Joo's relationship with a new secretary providing a central arc to the storyline. Offered to play the lead female role is Kim Hyun-Joo who is currently "positively considering" the offer.

WHAT'S WITH THIS FAMILY will first air this August in South Korea (takes over the Saturdays and Sundays 7PM time slot after "Wonderful Days").

Son Dam Bi is in talks to star in the new KBS 2TV weekend drama 'What's With This Family?' (working title)!

Son Dam Bi's rep told OSEN on the 14th, "She recently received the casting offer and is positively reviewing it. Although her casting has not been confirmed yet, we are working out the details", alluding to the possibility of her taking on her next drama after SBS' 'Dream' and MBC's 'Lights and Shadows'.

Son Dam Bi is in talks for the role of food stylist Kwon Hyo Jin who gets into an arranged marriage with Cha Kang Jae according to her father's wish and dreams of raising a happy family but lives an unhappy life.

Actress Kim Hyun Joo is currently considering an offer to appear in KBS‘s upcoming weekend drama “What’s with This Family.”

A representative of Kim Hyun Joo anounced on May 12 that “Kim Hyun Joo has been offered a role in ‘What’s with This Family;, but we have yet to confirm anything. Her reaction has been positive but she is still looking over the role.”

Kim Hyun Joo has last appeared in JTBC‘s “Cruel Palace – War of Flowers” which concluded in September of 2013.

“What’s With This Family” is penned by “King of Baking, Kim Takgu” and “Gu Family Book” writer Kang Eun Kyung and will start airing in August. Son Dambi has been recently confirmed as a part of the cast.

ZE:A's Hyungsik, Seo Kang Jun, & Nam Ji Hyun to form a love triangle in new drama 'What's With This Family'

Actress Nam Ji Hyun, who did a terrific job as the teenage version of main lead Deokman in 'Queen Seon Deok', sure is a lucky gal as she will be forming a love triangle with ZE:A'sHyungsik and Seo Kang Jun in new KBS 2TV weekend drama, 'What's With This Family'!
Hyungsik will be playing the hopeless younger brother, Cha Dal Bong, of the female lead played by Kim Hyun Joo. Although troublesome to the family, he is good-natured and compassionate. Hyungsik said, "More than anything, I am really happy that I get to act with good senior actors.  I am thinking of doing my best as an actor.  I thank the director and writer for giving me a role with gravitas, and as much as I feel burdened, I feel an equally huge ambition to do well."

Thank you for displaying a short notice about an existent thread. I successfully merged the threads and reopened it's original content as we have finally more than three official actors/actresses signed for this drama. I'm pretty excited for this show as the enlisted cast might give a refreshing blend of family-themed series during the weekend.

I am so torn with this upcoming drama because there are many actors that i like and the plot sound entertaining..totally happy that Hyungsik is in it because i like him a lot,still pine over his wasted potential from Heirs..Totally in with the trio of young cast...fell in love with Nam Ji Hyun in Angel Eyes and i like Kang Joonie a lot as well but what turnes me off is teh writer...the one who gave me as it might sound funny one of the most traumatic experience while watching her drama Gu Family Book,she destroyed her own drama in 2 episodes and who saw it knows why i say it,in so many levels...many of us who were totally invested in that story were traumatized by it...so i promised myself i won't ever see another show from her but i totally love the cast..man,heaven it's not fair,not fair!!!still mad at her even now because i consider she really disrespected us till the end not to mention her poor hero and the lack of a moral at the end of the story...
ahhh,what a drama lover must do ,ahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!still for this cast i'll give it a try but i'll keep my interst low not to suffer again

Actress Son Dam Bi and Yoon Park will become a married couple for KBS2TV’s upcoming weekend drama ”What’s With This Family?”

The beautiful singer/actress has been confirmed for the role of Kwon Hyo Jin, a smart and elegant food stylist from a wealthy family. This will mark Son Dam Bi’s return to the acting scene after a two-year break, her previous work being “Lights and Shadows” in 2012. Through her new character, she can be expected to showcase a soft and feminine side of her.

The role of Kwon Hyo Jin’s husband Cha Kang Je will be played by actor Yoon Park, who made a lasting impression with his performance on “Good Doctor” and “Will You Love and Give It Away?” His character is a professional doctor with no interest in anything else than studying and curing stomach cancer. 

Seo Kang Joon, Nam Ji Hyun, and ZE:A’s Park Hyungsik have already been confirmed to star in the drama.

“What’s With This Family?” will be the follow-up drama of “Wonderful Days,” and the pilot episode airs on August 16.

I just finished watching Yoo Dong-Geun in Jeong Do-Jeon, and he was fantastic in it. I hope he has a substantial role here...

It's a bit weird I haven't found an article for Yoo Dong Geun except the April 30th one, it says something like Nam Ji Hyun, Hyungsik and Yoo Dong Geun likely to be cast in the drama. If confirmed, Hyungsik and Nam Ji Hyun will be one of the leading couples of the show. So is it safe to assume Yoo Dong Geun will be part of the series as of today?

Yoon Park in weekend drama "This Is Family"

Actor Yoon Park is starring in the new KBS 2TV drama "This Is Family".

This drama is about a father who attempts to reform his children by suggesting the 'Undutiful Child Case'. This drama delivers the message of "thinking dearly of the family that we take advantage of", starring Yoo Dong-geun, Kim Hyeon-joo and Hyung Sik.

Yoon Park takes on the role of Cha Kang-sim's (Kim Hyeon-joo) brother and stomach cancer specialist Cha Kang-jae. Kang-jae is a conceited and cold character who doesn't have any other interest besides medical studies.

Yoon Park has starred in "Good Doctor", "Give Love Away" and others as a cute, young man.

Yoon Park says, "I am happy to be working with such good people and I am preparing hard for my character".

"This Is Family" starts on the 16th after "Very Good Times".

Son Dam Bi also confirmed for drama 'What's With This Family'
It was previously revealed that there will be a love triangle in upcoming KBS 2TV weekend drama 'What's With This Family' among Hyungsik, actress Nam Ji Hyun, and Seo Kang Jun. Now, singer Son Dam Bi will be putting down the mic to resume her acting career as she has also been cast in the program!


Within the drama, Son Dam Bi plays Kwon Hyo Jin, the wife of Cha Gang Jae (played by Yoon Park), who is the younger brother of the elegant and intellectual food stylist and female protagonist, Cha Kang Shim (played by Kim Hyun Joo).  Her character never faced hardships as the daughter of a hospital director until she marries Cha Gang Jae on her father's wishes and has to deal with her meddlesome mother, causing her to declare independence and fight unsupported for her love life and happiness.
Son Dam Bi said, "It has been two years since I got to greet people in a drama.  It has been a long time since I was in a production, so I'm nervous, but I am preparing for everything with diligence."
The drama will be replacing 'Very Good Days' on August 16!

Wow, Park Hyungsik! I like him in Sirius and Nine. Heirs is just a waste of his time. I find him quite a decent idol actor and i think he has potential to do well. I love him even more after i watch Real Men. I am so glad he is finally able to nail a more important role this time. A love triangle. Interesting. I hope he has good chemistry with Nam Ji Hyun.I am torn as i like the cast and the setting of the drama seems interesting. But i have mixed feelings because of the writer. I like Hotelier but I am not a fan of Baker King or Gu Family Book. I think i will still watch it for the cast. 

I'm here because of NJH whom I love very much!!!and I think she do wall in here too!and I can wait for the love triangle with PHS and SKJ!!!After get in WWTF soompi blog I think I love that drama even more!a lot of my loved actors and actress,are in this drama!and I loved Gu Family Book,and Baker King Kim Tak Gu!so I think I'm going to LOVE WWTF too!!! :xthank you for all the pic and information!and sorry for my bad English! ^^
