^ I agree. Asian Asians pamper themselves more than Asian Americans anyway, for a cheaper price. Don't beat up yourself too much.

Have you been looking at magazines too much? When I go back to Japan, their skin isn't PERFECT. It's just makeup and lots of it. Maybe it's just my family, but the women have very oily skin in their teenage years, but near perfect skin when they're in their mid-twenties. I'm waiting for that day.

this is just like one of those many threads that asked the same question "why do koreans have good skin"

i'd say its because of the environment they live in, the diet they eat everyday,...

Many caucasians have nice skin, too. It could also be GENETICS.

well the perception is their skin is on the whole relatively better(after makeup) but judging by the japanese exchange students throughout the yrs at my old school, only one had nice skin and that was because of the layers of foundation she had on

yeahh i think the major reason is the food...same reason why generally, there are less obese ppl in asia than in countries with a lot of fast food

i've seen a lot of threads floating around about whitening products/masks

Yeah, I doubt all have fine skin. No race has better skin then the other. I know for a fact that Kyoko Fukada breaks out too and she's japanese. Some are also tan but they are mostly guys that are tan. It's just by genetics, their diet, or the fact that they take care of the skin daily and go to those clinic places where they pay to get face and body skin cleaning treatment. Also, the weather helps a lot too. You'll see Japanese people that live in Hawaii more tan then those in Japan, so that also explains it.

i was watching tv in japan...with HD...so i saw all the pores and crap all over the people's faces...it looked gross...it was a game show for students...so they were all high school students.

i think the reason why you think japanese have "great" skin is because you're looking at celebrities...look at more average japanese people before you generalize.

but then why is it that theres 2 japanese kids at my school that always hangout together.. but one of them is fat? ahaha. well then again.. they do live in america now.. so maybe they dont eat all that healthy japanese food? idk. rofl sorry for being so irrelevant.

i always thought that japanese people had really nice skin too.. then i found out it was makeup.. and they were celebrities and the normal people are just like us XD

It's proably of their diet......?

but then again makeup does wonders....

i thought boa has clear and perfect skin but wen i look at some pics of her without makeup she has a few zits here and there...

so yeah...

we should try looking at the people without makeup on first to judge how they look and stuff XD

Actually japanese teenagers have skin with a lot of pimples.

Dont get fooled by what you see on celebs.

Most actuallly have very oily and have heaps of pimples.

perhaps its the food.

i've got 2 friends (1 japanese and the other is chinese) that have very flawless and smooth skin, and their parents own a japanese restaurant.

maybe u can ask in the east asia network forum to see what sort of skin products ppl use in japan
